HT5517 some sounds are loud then quiet

I have a problem while watching movies. Explosions, city street scenes, sirens etc. are blaring loud to the point of uncomfortable and the voices are so low you can barely hear them. I heard somewhere before that there is a setting somewhere on the appletv to control volume by equalizing all sounds but can't figure out where the setting is or if it is even accurate. Please help.

I notice you mention setting the audio setting in WinDVD to 7.. Well, try setting the option in WinDVD to SPDIF option instead and set the soundcard decoder to use installed decoder in Control Panel->Audio HQ.

Sometimes the sound goes louder then quieter and crackles a little on my computer

So when I had tech support, I talked to them and they had me remove the drivers through device manager and then it reinstalled by itself when I restarted and it helped for a week or so. But it wasn't a long term solution. Also, another issue I have is on some videos (somewhat rate), it won't play sound unless I go into playback devices in the sound menu and then click on "configure" for "speakers/headphones" and change it from 5.1 surround (which I don't have) to quadraphonic, hit next and uncheck the "surround speakers." Not sure why it always goes back to 5.1. I have two speakers and a subwoofer from logitech. I have an HP Envy H9-1400t . 3.5GHz i7, 16gigs ram, beats audio on the mtoherboard. All updates installed on Windows 8.1 including the ones through the HP app.

By the way, the stuttering sounds kinda like a helicopter or something and it is continous and it goes on a regular rate unless I turn the sound way back up then the rate changes and it kinda makes the sound so dull and annoying
this is too bad cuz I paid much money in this machine because the speakers kick ass and now I cant party with it

In regards to your inquiry about your iPod Nano playing songs at different volumes, yes it is possible to have your songs play at relatively close volumes. Here's how:
1) Go to the Main screen on your iPod. To ensure you are at the correct screen, press the "Menu" button on the ClickWheel. If the screen menu's do not change, you are on the right screen.
2)Select "Settings." Find the Sound Check option. Highlight it and press the Select button. Make sure that Sound Check it is enabled.
This should solve your problem. If it doesn't, please don't hesitate to post again with further inquiries.

Same with me nothing has changed. However what reduces it for me is if you change your battery settings to high performance. But it still does it, you will just find it will do it less.

no matter which system sound I set as the first one the system plays back after starting the computer, it's REALLY LOUD, then the rest of the sounds are quiet. How do I get ALL the system sounds to be the same volume?

How come some podcasts are loud while others I can barely hear?

I enjoy listening to podcasts while at work. I work in a place that does not allow head phones nor does it allow for a stereo. I use a small iHome speaker. The Red Eye Radio podcast has a perfect volume level, while the Billy Cunningham podcast, Bill Burr, and Stuff you should Know podcasts can barely hear at full volume. How come the volume is so different from show to show. Can't there be some kind of podcast/broadcast standard. I enjoy all these programs but find myself only listening to the ones I can hear.

Sounds are disappearing

I have a fifteen minute project with about 45 audio tracks. Most of the space on the tracks is empty though.
When I export a quicktime, even of just a minute or two, some of the sounds, or just portions thereof, are not present in the exported quicktime. A sound might cut in and out. Some sounds are there and some are not. Even if just six of the tracks have audio on them the problem still happens.
I always do a full render before exporting.
My attempts to fix it:
- under User Preferences > General, I set "Real-time Audio Mixing" to 1 (it then defaulted to 2) and "Audio Playback Quality" to "High"
- I deleted the preference files per a pdf on this site, which has helped me in the past, but not this time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to get this fixed and I'm totally stuck.

Some albums are quieter than others

This has just happened in recent. I've never had problems with volume, but strangely some albums are losing volume. They used to be loud, but now the volume is down for them. Some albums volume has stayed the same, but others are becoming more quiet. I tried closing the apps, turning my iPad off and on. is anyone else experiencing volume loss with their music?

Nevermind. I was stupid and forgot I switched on soundcheck. Fixed it

It isn't your imagination, you'll find that older recordings have lower gain and will sound softer. You can use sound check to somewhat balance this out if you want.

Sounds are quiet

I have now noticed that Sounds are alot quieter, were talking system sounds and message sounds everything is on full volume? now i cant hear them come on

I have done a restore just now again and the sounds are alot louder! but when i restore everythings quiet..

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't work, there isn;t much anyone here can do for you. It may be a physical problem with your speakers.

Sorry, everyone. I think I may have figured out what it was all down to...........
I had left the IDE ribbon cable plugged into my third HDD, with the power cable unplugged. I did this so as not to endanger my years of work on the third drive, until Windows had setup. I have in the past, accidentally chosen the wrong partiton to format, so this seemed a good way to avoid it from then on.
This was not a problem on my old system, but it seems this system doesn't like it.
I must have left the drive completely unplugged, the times Windows did setup. Amazing really. I couldn't see the woods for the trees.
Anyway, I'm sorry to have bothered everyone with my problem.

I am using IDE drives until I can afford SATA. But many thanks for the heads-up on the NF4-SATA compliance, I'll be sure to bare that in mind.
I didn't actually check the NVRAID/IDE ROM version before updating the bios, so I have no idea if the revision was changed when Liveupdate flashed the Bios, I'm afraid. I didn't know they would be updated at the same time.

Delete the files from iTunes. Go to the iTunes Store. Look to the right side of the iTunes Store window for the Purchased function. You can find all of your past purchases there.

According to this article Using iPhone on an airplane you should be able to listen to music with Airplay Mode enabled.
Make sure you have Music switched on in Settings > Store or your music won't download via Wi-Fi.
