how do you sign in to apple id to make changes if you lost recovery key and removed one of my trusted devices they are both still associated but only one is trusted my macbook pro is still trusted but neither it or the 5c can get pass the log in section where it asks for the recovery key!!!!!!!!

Going to need a lot more info on what your are trying to do and why you are doing it.
Signing into an Apple ID is easy. Open whatever needs and Apple ID and sign in using the ID name, usually a email address, and the password associated with that name. you will then be signed in.
And please refrain from the profanity.

Did you set up iCloud and enable Find My iPod on it before it was lost? If so, and if it's turned on, connected to wifi and your iCloud settings haven't been changed, you may be able to track it on a map by going to icloud.com from your computer and signing into your iCloud account, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442.

Content is tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded it - so if you created a new account as opposed to updating the old one, then you will need to continue to use the old account to download updates to its apps or to re-download its past purchases. If you didn't create a new account but instead updated your old one then try logging out of your account on the phone by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in

HT204053 support states you can't merge apple ids, but it does give you an option to edit. Im sure there's a reason, but why can't I sign in to 1 account and edit the name to match the 2nd account?

Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID that is showing and sign out. Sign in with your own ID.
Why the previous owner did not remove his information is a mystery.

Nobody else should be able to download from a new device or computer unless they have access to two of your password, a trusted device, and your recovery key. You are sure that they are using it e.g. there are a number of phishing emails doing the rounds saying that something has been downloaded on an account and to click on a link in the email if it wasn't you that made it so as to request a refund (i.e. so that they can capture your password and payment details).

Then another saying itunes could not copy "awake (name of track) to the ipod Kims ipdo because an unknown error occured (-61)
What does this mean and how can I fix this? I am operating on a very old mac laptop however it is not the same one that the ipod was set up on ... I have authorised this computer to make changes

How can I modify what programs are allowed to make changes to my computer?

OK - I'm a bonehead, I was getting the message "Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer" every time I opened Firefox and fixed that problem by unselecting "run as administrator" BUT, in the meantime, somehow got into a screen that allowed me to select no security at all when opening a program. How can I get back to that utility so I can reset it to the default value?

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

Hey all, I am new to the mac scene, and successully managed to transfer my itunes library from PC format to Mac format with the songs all stored on a USB Hard drive which works great.
However I have tried to rip a CD today and I get the following message:
"Error occured while converting the file - You did not have the privilege to make changes"
Why is this happening? Ive read that it may be a permission issue on the USB HD?
I have only had my mac for 1 day so my knowledge is very limited.
EDIT - Actually, could this be to do with how the USB is formatted? NTFS.
If so, will I have to buy another USB Hard Drive and literally drag and drop everything from the old one to the new one, formatted the correct way?

Mac OS X can natively read from, but not write to, NTFS formatted drives.

that would be ideal. format the drive for Mac (HFS+).
alternatively, you could try installing the _*NTFS 3G*_ driver on the Mac.
