HT5622 Why can't I get this app to download?

It said it downloaded but the app never popped up on my phone, I go to the app on the apple store and it says play. I click the play button and nothing happens, can anyone tell me how I can get the app onto my iPhone?

Is it possible that the app has been placed on one of your six Home screens?
Does the app appear in a spotlight search?
If not, you can download it again.

What is local storage? Why can't I get this app?

So I'm trying to get the sims free play app on my ipod4g. It requires 569MB. So I click download and it says I do not have enough local storage. Which I clear do cause I just deleted almost everything off my iPod. I have 1.0GB of free storage left. I don't get it??? Why can't I get the app???

You do NOT have enough space. Most apps require 2 or 3 thimes the space required in order to install the app.
You will need 1.2 - 1.8 gb or so free

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If no joy... Try Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

Why can't I get the App "DeskConnect" on my Ipad 3. It claims to be compatible with Ipad, Iphone and Mac. I was able to download onto Mac and Iphone but it is not recognized for Ipad?

I liked the idea of this app so I went looking for it and have now installed it on my Mac, iPhone and finally my iPad.
This app, although it will run on the iPad is actually an iPhone/iPod app, as suggested above. So the only way to get it on my iPad was to search for it as an iPhone app in the App Store app on my iPad. Then it came up as an app that I could install on the iPad.

While you could create a new ID without a credit card by following the steps in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534, I would recommend you first try contacting Apple support to find out what you can do to use your existing Apple ID without using a credit card (if it didn't have one before). You can set up a call with them by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click iTunes>iTunes Store>Purchases, Billing & Redemption>How to recover missing purchased items. The call will be free but you will need your serial number, which you can find in Settings>General>About. We are having this same problem with our Iphones and before you ask yes these phones are allowed to make in-app purchases. This is happening for all apps not just one or two and all of our Iphones. We have even asked several of our friends with Iphone and they also are unable to make in-app purchases. We can go into the app and go to the in-app purchase area and we see what is available but we are unable to make any selections. We have contacted apple care and they have had us reset the settings for in-app purchases and we still get have the same problem. Since this is happening on all our Iphones 3s, 4, and 4s. It leads me to believe that it is an issue with the Itune store not allowing in-app purchases. Is any one else having this problem? Had this problem but was able to get it fixed, what did you have to do to get it where you could make in-app purchases.

A Playlist idiot. Why can't I get this to work?

In iTunes I have music Playlists set to shuffle (blue double arrow button) and audio books Playlist set no shuffle. I have been unable to get my iPod to follow these settings. A suggested work around is to use the iPod Settings to set the shuffle function to "songs" when playing music and then switching to off for audio books. There has to be a better way. How do I set the Playlists on my iPod to function the same as it does on iTunes?

Using your process are you able to set your iPod to shuffle then listen to the audio book without it shuffling the chapters? I have tried your suggestion with the iPod setting set to shuffle and the chapters shuffled. This is the issue from my original post. I want to listen to music with the shuffle function and listen to audio books (no shuffle) without having to change the settings every time I switch.
Keep in mind that is not a purchased audio nor a imported book.

I have attempted to make the audio book file into an authenticate file but that did not help.

Apps that run on the iPhone and iPad are iOS based. Apps that run on your Mac are designed for the Mac OS X. Two different operating systems.
In other words, apps that run on your iPhone and iPad cannot run on your Mac and vice versa.

My mum gave me her old iPhone 4s. It's the first time I've had a smart phone so I am a bit new to it. I tried to download Skype for iPhone, but it said my phone couldn't have it. I had the same with BBC Radio iPlayer. Some apps say I don't have the right operating system - I get that, but why do some apps just say my phone can't have a certain app? Is it because I am wirth giffgaff and am not on a contract but have sim only and then buy monthly goody bags?

second, this is turning into a kind of nightmare!
i decided to try using my mum's new macbook to use iTunes to update my iPhone. first, it didn't have iTunes installed so i had to install it. now i have done that, and tried to update my iPhone but i just get a message on my mum's computer saying i have the most recent version of 4.2.1 and there will be another update at a certain date (can't remember it.) eh? what's that about? i'm not tech-savvie and am completely flummoxed. i thought i'd update it to a newer version. how can i update my iPhone? all i want to do is get some basic free apps!
also, i hear what you're saying, and it seems the phone must be an iPhone 4 not 4s, but the box etc all say 4s. another weird factor.

I loaded Win 7 on my laptop and didn't back up my phone to I tunes. I loaded IOS 6 to the phone and it needed to sync. The Itunes didn't connect to my account phone factory reset. I have logged on why can't I get my apps and music back to my phone?

The same thing happened to my poor sister, and she is panicking because of all of her photos of her "daughter growing up" that will be lost. It seems that this has happened to several people already, and I REALLY hope that Apple figures this out so that it doesn't force all of these people to completely reset their devices. Why can't I get this extension to show up after I download it, help with code?

I created this extension with the app builder where it generates a zip and you modify it to what you want. I made very little changes, I just would like to have a button on the toolbar that launches the site when clicked. In the '''overlay.css''' file the '''''wcextension-toolbar-button - list-style-image''''' shows the '''''url''''' as http://www.wisecampusbooks.com/images/WC_icon2.jpg . Shouldn't it point to the '''toolbar-button.png''' image in the \chrome\skin\ folder instead?
I can see the image from that URL when the toolbar button is sitting in the Customize Palette, but the image disappears when the button is moved to a Toolbar. I think that using a web based image in the UI is a security fault, which Firefox is blocking. Something like that could potentially be used to "track" a user or to count how often that button is clicked.

I'm running Firefox 8 but want to uninstall it a load V7 so my McAfee site advisor will work. Why can't I get a link to download a previous version? Can I get V7 somehow?

Installing on Macbook Air 4,2 - why can I not get this done?

I am trying so desperately to install Arch and dual-boot on my Macbook Air. I'm not an Arch noob - I promise. I've installed and loved arch on my old laptop a couple years back but that was not a mac.
I've been here but all it says is that this "works out of the box". Unfortunately, I can't get that far.
I flashed Archboot to my USB thumb stick using DD and booted into it using ReFind. I can't remember what the first option was, but I believe it was Arch-something with EFI. I chose that and I got an error message:
Failed to open file: boot\intel-ucode.img
Trying to load files to higher address
Failed to open file: boot\intel-ucode.img
So, I chose the second option which says (I'm sorry, I'm in my OSX right now so I'mg telling this from memory) something like Arch-something without EFI. Then I got to the actual install console. I created some partitions using cgdisk and chose my packages but they all failed to install due to a dependency missing. I'm really sorry I don't know what that error was. After I post this I will go back and try again and see if I Can get a screen shot.
Anyhow - This is nothing like my install was on my old PC laptop and I feel like I'm not even sure if I'm going down the right path. Does anyone know of a youtube video which shows this process? Honestly, as much as I've used Arch in the past, I truly feel like a dumbass right now but I'm willing to risk my reputation for a rig that runs the sweetest Linux there is.

Whatever you need, logs, etc... no problem - but tell me where to get them because I'm not sure how to with my system in limbo like this.

Alright, only problem is that the beginner's guide talks about entering things at a prompt - like "# sgdisk --zap-all /dev/sda". i'm not at a prompt. I'm in the GUI Archboot console. Also, I don't see instructions on which partitions to create, what size to make them, etc.. and, I still don't know why the original option in Archboot failed - the one that prompted me that it could not find boot/intel-ucode/img. It's not that I haven't read the documentation and it's also not that I'm too stupid to figure it out - I feel like I'm on the wrong track. For example, the Beginner's Guide doesn't even mention instructions for Archboot - which is what I'm using. By the way, thank you for your response. I don't want to sound ungrateful

Why can i not get WeightWatchers app for iPad in Ireland?

I am really annoyed.... Having recently treated myself to an iPad and rejoining Weight Watchers, I was psyched to see that an app existed to track points etc.!! Cant tell you my disappointment at not being able to get it - cant be got through iTunes Ireland! What's up with that? Anyone have a clue? FYi - have tried to set up a new account but Apple has cotton'd on & blocks it.....

I would guess that the maker of the app does not sel it in the itunes store for Ireland.
You can buy ONLY from the itunes store of your country of residence AND ONLY while inside the borders of that country.
