HT5824 How to I recover documents that I deleted on my IPhone?

I was updating my iphone and I needed more storage.  I ended up deleting some very important document from numbers.  How do I recover them?

Just plug it into your computer and you should get the option to transfer purchases

Try to get them from the person who forced you to not to back up your phone, import photos to your computer, or store them in a cloud service (like Dropbox),

I deleted a folder that was named incorrectly, and it turned out to be the bulk of my photos. How can I recover these files if the trash was emptied. This is years of pictures.

    Your back up?
Other than that... File Salvage - you can download a free trial and it will scan the disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.
There are other such apps. Search on Macupdate or the App Store

  • How can I recover only 1 Note deleted from my iPhone 4S

I accidentally deleted 1 important note from my Notes and it got sync'd so it's deleted from all devices.
How can i recover that note? My iPhone was backed up and that note is probably in the back up, but i don't want to restore the entire device to that back up.
Is there a way to recover just one deleted note?

Sorry, restore from backup is all or nothing deal.

  • How can I recover documents that were stores in the pages app?

I have an original iPad. This evening, as I was using it, I got a message that an update was available for pages. I selected "update". It attempted to install the new pages and froze. I connect to iTunes to try to get it back to old version of pages (the new versions won't work on the original iPad) by restoring to back-up. That resulted in deleting the pages app.
Ahhhh!!!! I need my documents! They had been backed up to iTunes and it was recently backed up to iCloud.
Someone please help me figure out how to find my docs!!!
    THANK YOU

    Basics of File Recovery
    Files in Trash
If you simply put files in the Trash you can restore them by opening the Trash (left-click on the Trash icon) and drag the files from the Trash to your Desktop or other desired location.  OS X also provides a short-cut to undo the last item moved to the Trash -press COMMAND-Z.
If you empty the Trash the files are gone. If a program does an immediate delete rather than moving files to the Trash, then the files are gone.  Recovery is possible but you must not allow any additional writes to the hard drive - shut it down. When files are deleted only the directory entries, not the files themselves, is modified. The space occupied by the files has been returned to the system as available for storage, but the files are still on the drive. Writing to the drive will then eventually overwrite the space once occupied by the deleted files in which case the files are lost permanently. Also if you save a file over an existing file of the same name, then the old file is overwritten and cannot be recovered.
    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

  • How can I recover photos that were deleted accidentally?

    I am using iPhoto 6.0.6
I accidentally deleted a folder of photos in iPhoto and then emptied the trash from within the program. Is there any way to recover these files? I have not emptied the trash from finder, but I have closed iPhoto.
Is there any possible way to recover these files, either using an option from within OS X or a 3rd party solution?

Don't you have a backup of your library you can recover those photos from? The Finder trash is not connected to iPhoto's trash bin. If you emptied iPhoto's trash then the photos have been deleted from the hard drive. You can run the of SubrosaSoft FileSalvage in it's demo mode to see if it can find and recover those photos before you purchase it. Others have had success in recovering photos as long as there hasn't been a lot of new files added to the HD that might overwrite those files.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How do I recover photos that I deleted

I just returned from a trip, took hundreds of pictures with my iPhone, downloaded them onto my iMac, deleted them from the iPhone, then found that many I had taken did not appear on the iMac. Help!

icloud only stores photos in backups (or in a special case, when using photo stream).  If you have turned on backup and made sure the camera roll is turned on (only photos from camera roll are backed up), then you can get photos back by performing a restore.  But note that users should always sync photos to a computer to archive them, relying on icloud is not foolproof.

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your device.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

  • How can I recover pictures that were deleted from my Playbook after a OS upgrade?

The playbook would not back up when i connected to my pc via the BB desktop manager.
The message that popped up in the desktop manager advised the Playbook counldnt connect and the solution was it needed an update. When I okayed the update, the new OS was installed.
All I did was click ok to the message. Nothing popped up telling me the playbook would be wiped.
Now, all my pics and videos are gone - and have not been backed up. Is there any solution?
    Thanks for your time.

Yes.  I tried the refresh and checked the uninstall tab.  Still nothing.  Another thing though - when I entered my Blackberry ID, it would not let me use my screen name because it was supposedly already in use.  But I knew that because it was in use by me.  It would only let me use the same name with a numerical suffix.  So I am wondering if it thinks I am still logged on from before the upgrade.  Also, is it possible the Playbook thinks I am some other use and won't let me access my files - like photos and videos, etc.

  • How can I retrieve emails that were deleted off my iPhone 4s when I changed the password to my email acccount?

I changed the password to my email account and when I changed it in my phone all of my emails were deleted Is there any way to retrieve them? They are in the server and I can access them via Outlook just not on my iPhone or iPad.

They won't be in icloud, since the only thing that would contain pictures are backups.  But they were deleted before you signed up for icloud, so forget that.  The only other thing to check is you computer.  Users are always advised to sync photos to computers for archiving.  If you did that, you should be able to find them there.  But without any backups or copies of them, then they are history.
And no, you can't look at pictures in icloud.

  • How to recover songs that were deleted

How do I recover songs that were deleted from itunes library and itunes acount and coputuer.

If the songs were purchased using your Apple ID on iTunes, simply open iTunes, click on the iTunes Store, then click "Purchased" on the right side and you can re-download from there.
If the songs were not purchased using your Apple ID on iTunes, recover them from your latest computer backup.

  • Hey there, I have an iPhone 3g that was synced to my computer. My computer got stolen with all my music on it. I have a new computer but I can't sync my computer to my iPhone. How can I recover everything that's on my iPhone 3g to my computer?

Hey there, I have an iPhone 3g that was synced to my computer. My computer got stolen with all my music on it. I have a new computer but I can't sync my computer to my iPhone. How can I recover everything that's on my iPhone 3g to my computer?

If your backup copy of your computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.
Otherwise, authorize your computer for your itunes account, connect iphone, do not sync, Click:  File>Transfer Purchases
This will transfer itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer.
Enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the new computer.  When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

  • How to recover photo that i deleted accidentally while i was trying to upload the photo on the phone??

how to recover photo that i deleted accidentally while i was trying to upload the photo to the computer??
also, itn't itune will backup myself whenever i sync???Will the old back up file got updated when i connect the phone with computer??

I don't think recovery software will help since the file isn't just deleted, it's overwritten.  If you want to try, the backups are located at one of these locations:
    Mac OS: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
    Windows XP: %AppData%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
    Windows Vista: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
    Windows 7: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

  • How to search for documents that do not contain a word in a section?

For example: (deleted% within folder) finds all documents that have deleted in the folder
I want to find all documents that do not contain "deleted%" within folder.

If you have other criteria, then you can use "other criteria NOT deleted% within folder". However, if there is no other criteria, then you cannot just begin with NOT, so you have to use "% NOT deleted% within folder", but on a large data set that will result in an error about the wildcard expanding to too many terms.
