I have changed my notes to sort by title on my mac but after 24 hours my iphone and ipad have not reset to match my mac.  I have tried all the trouble shooting.  Now what?

As far as I know, iCloud doesn't sync the sort order.

    Hi Jo,
    Each router is a little different but here are the basics: login to the router using the administrator account, should have that info from the installer, and then you should find something like security settings, or it may be advanced security.  There will be a setting to the effect of limiting access, or it may say allow Mac address authentication, or admit the Mac addresses in the table...if that is switched on, you can just switch it off and that will allow any wireless device to attach.  If you want to keep it on, then you have to enter the Mac address for the device you want to use for access.  In the case of the iPad, go to Settings > General > About > WiFi Address (another way of saying Mac address).  Enter that very long sequence in the router's Mac address acceptance table and that should take care of things.
    Using the Mac address does not change any of the email settings, just limits attaching to the router in the first place.
    If you are already getting email, you must be attaching already so this should not be an issue.  If you are having email issues, such as receive but not send, you may not have the outgoing server set correctly: Settings > Mail > Account > Outgoing server name (usually an SMTP server) and you may have to go to the advanced settings to enter the outgoing password (normally the same as the account/incoming password) and then check to see if SSL is ON or OFF...most common email services say to set to OFF.

    We bought this itouch for our daughter for Christmas (2011), It has worked fine all this time until now. All of a sudden it will not connect to our home wi fi. All the other ipods/iphones/laptops and desktop are connecting fine so I know it is not the router itself. I have tried all the standard troubleshooting tips (forgetting the network and resetting it on the ipod, turning it off an on, plugging it in and updating the software, we even restored it completely from itunes as a new ipod). It lists the network as available but then when you try to connect it just sits there with the little circle icon thing spinning, trying to connect but never does.Please help!

    So you also rebooted your router correct?  Does the iPod still connect okay to other networks?

    :-) the problem is solved. Thanks to a great typ in one of the other discussions with alt+cmd+S iTunes looks again like something I recognize. After removing the iPod from iMac and also from the connecting "holder", turning it on ad off, rebooting the iMac, maggic happens and the iPod now shows in iTunes and everything works just fine.

    I am need of help! I have had this issue for a while now and it's becoming frustrating.
    My iTunes installed on my HP Windows 8 Netbook is unable to recognize my iPod, the error message along the lines of "iTunes has detected an iPod but unable to recognise"

    When you say reset your settings do you mean to factory settings? As my iPod was swapped at the store for a new one and the problem is still there...

    When I try to go to google.ca I keep getting a notification telling me "this connection is untrusted" I don't understand why? I use google.ca every day with no problems and now this has been happening for 2 weeks. I can use google in Internet Explorer but not Firefox. I have tried the trouble shooting ideas on here but nothing seems to be working. I have uninstalled and deleted all folders for Firefox and reinstalled and still the same problem.     When you get the error page, could you check a couple things.
    First, expand the technical details section and look at the explanation for the error. What is the problem with the certificate?
    Second, if you expand the third section and click the Add Exception button, you can view the certificate. Sometimes this shows the name of your security software provider (ESET, BitDefender) instead of showing Google's real certificate. You can cancel out of this dialog after viewing it and making note (or a screen shot) of the issuer.

    I have a iphone 3GS 16 GB that is currently working on version 4.3.5. I'm having major battery issues and need to take it in for repairs but can't because I can't get the system to back up all my information first.     @ deggie, I wasn't threatening ANYONE. I was simply saying how frustrating this has become, seeing how I have been trying on my own to figure this issue out for more then a month with no results. Like I said in the beginning, I have not used any other account to purchase apps or other products on my phone. I have only ever used one account. There are 23 apps that are saying they can't sync. It directs me to authorize the computer, which I do but it doesn't change the outcome. If I proceed, I lose those 23 apps correct? Do I also lose all my text messages saved, and other things such as documents in the "notes"?

    I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
    As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
    I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
    As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

    No clue what what the manual says but if you use the tap and hold down on the icon method-you have to hold down for a couple of seconds before the X appears that you tap on to delete.

    I have owned my MacBook Pro for several months without having any problems with it. Recently I am having trouble with my Yahoo Mail.  I can open it fine, but 2 out of 3 times when I try to actually open a message, the spinning ball comes on the screen and does not stop. Sometimes, I can log out or force quit and come back in to my account and use it.  Other times, I run into the same problem.  Any suggestions?

    No, your Yahoo account is not in iCloud (which only handles iCloud mail), it is in Yahoo, and the Yahoo mail account is on your iPad.

    Get the correct settings for your account from Yahoo and set it up manually.
    By the way, I also find the "password" issue problematical. It seems Apple want my Apple password rather than my eMail password. All very confusing.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
    Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)
    If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.
