HT6114 This update broke my ability to connect a TV to my laptop via HDMI. Anyone else?
Anyone else having the same problem? Is Apple aware of the problem? This is a big problem for me because I sometimes use the TV as my monitor for gaming and I also use this feature at work to send my screen to the projector when giving presentations. Can I roll back to 10.9.1?
That's pretty much what fixed it zrfox. I hooked up the Vision:M to the computer so that it was listed in Device Manger. Right Clicked it's entry in Device Manager and Uninstalled it. I then unplugged it from the computer and waited a few seconds and plugged it back in and it was reinstalled correctly. It seems to be working OK now.
I guess I'll have to wait for newer firmware or WMP Beta 2. :-)

Just purchased Airport Extreme ac and lost internet connection 3X in less than one week. Fisrt time, reset to factory settings and fixed problem. Has occurred 2 additional times and connection re-established by unplugging AP extreme. Anyone else having these problems? Do I have a bad router? Thanks.
I definitely think this is a Mavericks issue. My iMac running Mavericks is the ONLY system in the house that drops the network randomly while all other systems never lose the network. No idea how to resolve this, but here is the workaround I'm posting:
I've had the 'network drop' issue with my Airport Extreme for the last 2 months. It reconnects when I pull the ethernet cable and plug it back in. I've tried downgrading the AE firmware, resetting to factory, etc. Nothing worked. I finally threw in the towel and created a script that monitors my network connectivity and restarts my interface if it senses it has dropped:

Update(s) break ability to connect to bank web site(s)
One of the recent updates to 10.7.3 - either a security update or the Java update - has broken the ability to connect to certain bank web sites from ANY browser, including Internet Explorer running under Parallels. The latter makes me suspect that something in the hidden antivirus technology is blocking certain internet communication. Disabling the firewall makes no difference - and the sites will not appear with Safari (32 bit or 64 bit mode), Chrome or Firefox any longer.

I initially responded to a similar thread in the Safari forum - but determined this has nothing to do with Safari / Webkit as it affects all ocmmunication on the Mac to the sites in question. (Even ping fails.)
On my same network, a standalone XP machine with IE 8 connects instantly, as does an iPad (IOS 5.1). So, it is not a DNS issue or a network issue. It is only the Macs after the last round of Software Updates.
Out of ideas as to what to do to get access back on our Macs ...

KarlWell, I think I have finally come up with a solution. It seems this issue happens when it auto locks. I turned auto lock to "never" in settings, and the issue has not happened since. Seems there may be a bug in this feature???
I now use manual lock, and upon awakening the wifi is now fully working. -
Hi all. Update my iphone 4S via usb last night. Since then the iphone is not visible in itunes for wireless syncing. The sync wirelessly box is checked and is viewable as checked when phone connected via usb. Anyone else have this problem and been able to sort? Thanks. Doug

Time Capsule which will only let me connect to one device at a time. Anyone else experience this?
I have a Time Capsule which I use with a Macbook Pro and an iMac, as well as my iPhone and an Airport Express. It appears as though it will currently only allow me to connect to one device at a time. I had my MBP and iMac sitting side by side and ran Aiport Utility on both. The Time Capsule would only show up on one or the other but not both. Anyone else experience this? It was working great until a day or so ago.
It sounds as if your Time Capsule is in "Bridge Mode", which would only allow one device to connect to the Internet at a time.
To check......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon
Check the setting for Connection Sharing
If it is "Off (Bridge Mode)", change it to "Share a public IP address"
Click Update to save your changes -
After my last itunes update, I cannot play my music on my PC. I get an "original file could not be found message." Has anyone else had this problem?

Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls, such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed)

My iPad 2 Wireless/3G was fully charged. A message appeared saying to update the software. I clicked on "update" The battery immediately discharged and now will not charge again. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Is it possible to connect Apple TV to Marantz SR8001 via HDMI?
Video won't display, says there's no source. I updated my Apple TV software to the latest version, this setup was never tested through the previous version.
I'm using Apple's HDMI cable so that's not an issue.
The device connects directly to my TV's HDMI (1080p), so that's not an issue.
Optical out on the Apple TV to Optical in on my receiver works fine, so that's not an issue.
I have the correct input selected on the receiver, so that's not the problem.
The HDMI input on the reciever is functional for AUDIO (tested using component Y/Cb/Cr and HDMI from Blu-Ray DVD player), just not video from my Apple TV, but receiving audio/video directly from the Apple TV to the TV (bypassing the receiver) works perfectly.
So the HDMI cable works, the Optical Audio works through the receiver, but the video signal IN from the Apple TV (3rd gen) to the receiver via HDMI gets no signal detected. Is this due to the HDCP handshake not resolving properly? I can't even see the menus so I don't think that should interfere.
While I am capable of switching between multiple inputs and outputs, my goal is to channel all devices through the receiver (that's what receivers are for) to the Home Theater Audio (7.1 surround) and Video (TV). All my other devices work perfectly (even my old VCR upscales through the receiver). Watching old TV reruns through Netflix in 120hz is a little disconcerting (so clear it looks live action) but fun.
I notice the resolutions available on the Apple TV only goes up to 1080p 60hz. My TV can handle 120hz but that's not a game breaker.
Any solutions are appreciated. If I need to update or backdate my Apple TV/firmware/software or contact Marantz for a firmware update specific to Apple TV I suppose I can do those things. It's just irritating when I'm so used to my Apple products not being picky and complicated and suddenly something doesn't work.

The selected "best answer" was not helpful to me. The "reset HDMI" answer (the last one is different than the two before it), was helpful.
Also after resetting my HDMI sequence in the receiver (as per Marantz suggestion in the linked posted comment), I switched from Component Y/Cb/Cr output to HDMI output to TV.
All is fine now. Hope this answer helps someone else, otherwise I'd have just deleted my question.
