HTML animation in DPS?

Hello,
I have a problem with an .html file that I've created for one of my folios.
I've put the files on our webserver and it works without problems in my Safari browser, also on my iPhone there are no problems.

When I insert this link into my article (Overlay Creator panel > Webcontent) it works fine to.
But when I insert it as a file, it does not show the background images. You only see a thin border, but not the image.
Can you tell me why this doesn't work? I want it to play even when it's viewed without an internet connection.
I've inserted a screenshot of the animations as seen on my iPad 3.

Could work an animated flash bitmap image exported in html 5, in DPS ?

I'm new in DPS, just started for a couple of weeks and I need to use a image in an animation.
I created the animation in inDesign exported in .fla, used de toolkit js, load it in a container with web content overlay, and when I preview it with Adobe Content Viewer it doesn't work, it apears a blank screen. Neighter of animation from that stage won't work.
To be very precise any animation works fine, when I test the html in a browser, the problem appears only in the content viewer.
The animation is very simple: smal logo entering in the stage from the right, not very complex.
I tried in flash with other images in a test file and loaded in inDesign, and still don't work. Other vector animation works well, no problem. I saw that if I have an image in library in flash and export a simple animation with a vector ball, won't work in indesign preview, with content viewer.
My question is, Could work an animated flash bitmap image exported in html 5, in DPS ? If so, what should I need to do ?

Two possible solutions I was considering:
1) In my index/first page, have all the swfs present (scaled to 1x1, behind something, or invisible) and have a preloader code on that first page... so all the content gets loaded before continuing onto the rest of the site. That would certainly work in making the site run quick... but would mean a relatively lengthy wait at the start. Luckily, unlike my current site, all the actual site content (aside from the header/nav interface) is HTML... so the bulk of the site's content is in the HTML pages, not as part of the Flash header... so it probably wouldn't be too horrific a wait. However, it would be loading EIGHT of these swfs, since there are eight pages... so then maybe it would be....
2) Have an swf that consists of just the 'draw up' of the interface, and it's idle state... then when each button is pressed, load a new swf to replace the main one, which has the specific page's animated title sequence, and ends with the code to load the html page. So, each separate HTML page would have embedded into it only the main swf, and the title animation swf would be swapped in when a nav button is pressed. Main issue here is each button press would envoke a preloader sequence (kind of tedious)... and unfortunately all the 'main interface' elements loaded in with the main swf would have to be loaded in again at the start of each animated title swf (although none of the draw up... just the loading of the interface and buttons). For highspeed users, it should be okay, I guess....
Thoughts or better ideas?

HTML animation effects doesn't work after last update

After last update my html animation that have different effects with different time: fade, translate, rotation, scale, ecc... plays but some effects doesn't play.
Various animated png in html project appears immediatly without shows transitions or deformations.
I have made html animation with Motion Composer that have time curve for each effect.. and all work fine with previous dps desktop tools...
I don't use Hedge because folios with hedge animation is mooooooooore large than folios with motion composer animation.
A single complex animation (10 .png(1024x768) with multipe effects fo each) made with composer produce a 1MB folio...
The same animation made with Hedge produce more the 100MB folio.
why new version of dps don't show my html anim correctly ? I hope adobe correct this proble.

HTML animation in a Folio flashes once & lightens the page briefly as the an animation starts

Hi
When an HTML animation plays in a folio page on the iPad the animation flashes lighter briefly as the animation starts.
Is there a way to stop this happening?

DPS will not do what you want and neither with anything else without at
least some work.
HTML out of InDesign is for content only, not layout. There is a new
product out there you can try, however:

Issue with autoplay HTML animation

Hi guys, I have some troubles with HTML animation when preview my content on adobe viewer. Maybe you know how to fix this...
My Folio contains 1 atricle with 5 pages. The first page is a static one, the second one - page with animation that should be shown when that page is displayed (autoplay). the third and fourth ones - also auto play animation, the last - static page.
Seems that next page is cached when we preview the page in adobe viewer, so when we navigate directly to the second page that contains animation - the animation on the page is partially played, so we can see only the rest of animation or just the end point of animation. Navigate to the next page - the same issue. But when we navigate from first page to the third - we can see animation from the beginning.
How this issue can be resolved?

SOLVED html animation problem with v25

My Html animation return to work also in version 25.
After many modify i found the problem:
The cover preview loaded in folio builder for portrait and landscape layout was the same that i used in a Html animation (in asset folder)
I built a folio without cover preview and all work again.

Hello! Happy New Year to you too.
I am not sure I understand your question properly.
If you are making this animation for a wesite, you can include your files into an iFrame and upload all your files to your website server.
For example add this to your html page:
<iframe src="http://www.yourSiteName.com/folderName/index.html" style="width: 100%; height: 400px; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 30px;"></iframe>
Note: change the sizes, change your site name, folder name and html edge file name.
If you want to just have your composition on one page by itself, then just add the folder to the root area of your server and then you can send the link by email for people to see it directly on the web. You do not need to put it in an iFrame for this. Just email the web address - so for example:
http://www.yourSiteName.com/folderName/index.html

HTML animation in MSO

Whit last update, if i put HTML animation (autoplay) in State2 of a MSO, while State1 is a button to State2,
the animation run with problem... no fade effect, no smooth movement...
any suggest ?

had the same problem with some funky javascript .. changed everything to jquery (minimal version) and it worked nicely.

Html animation stopped working?

I created an html animation (Indesign-Wallaby) and it was working great. It is a headline that slides in, nothing fancy.
I opened the file today on the ipad and instead of the animation sliding in, it just appears. I tested the html in my browser and it is working fine. I relinked to the html file, but it still isn't working correctly?
Any ideas?

Several people are reporting erratic behavior with HTML in articles. I'll look into this and let you know what I find out.

PDF Article with HTML Animation

Is it possible to have a article in pdf format but have the HTML animation from Adobe edge appear in better resolution?
Currently to get the Animation to appear with transparent background I have to build the article as a JPG, PNG article.
Is this right?

u can have html animation inside pdf folio. Note web content overlays are not resampled which means when u zoom in ur animation will look pixelated.

Does not matter as long as the original edge animation comes with transparent background.

Export indesign with html animation

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to include or link an html animation I've realised with Edge in an Indesign presentation.
I tried to create a button that links to the html file, and export it as an interactive pdf, but then it will work on my pc only..... do you know how I can solve this issue?
Ideally I'd like to see the animation within the pdf (now it will open in the browser), but most importantly I need to be able to share the whole package!
Any solution will be really welcome!

Your best bet would be to host the file on a web server and link to it there. If you don't have access to such space, free hosting isn't that hard to find. Google "free file hosting."

Edge animation in DPS: Always rasterized?

Hi, folks
I have been making my first very simple animation with typography in Adobe Edge Previev CS 6.1. Everything OK but... I start with illustrator files with SVG. When placed in InDesign (as *.oam file), uploaded (PDF format) with DPS and shown in Adobe Conten Viewer, it is rasterized.
I know that Overlays are in general rasterized but I had the (seemingly wrong?) idea that Edge animations were treated in a different way and that they were not always rasterized.
So, the question is: Is there anyway I could place an animation in DPS so that is not rasterized. I mean: Placed PDFs retain in DPS their vector quailities and they look gorgeous at any size. Is that not possible yet with animations? (Will it ever be in a near future?).

Smooth Edge Animations in DPS.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to smooth out the playing of Edge animations in DPS? My Edge animations play smooth as butter in any browser but stutter a little in DPS on the iPad-3. I know many have suggested not having such complex animations but that just limits the creativity and that's not what we are looking for.
Is there anything I can change in Edge to smooth the animation out?
I have tried playing with the Preloader settings, changing from "Immediate" (default) to "Polite" with no visible difference.
I have read that you can set off stage elements to "Off" from "Always On" but I don't get that one completely because eventually they all make there way on stage and if they are set to "Off" they don't show up when moved on stage.
I don't believe there is anything more than setting Edge animations to delay by 0.125 seconds in Indesign that affect Edge animations.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Macquarie Group have a nice DPS app with simple animations on most articles giving the overall folio a nice lift. I'm wondering if anyone wants to say how these animations were done OR how best to do them? Are they best done as Edge Animations, Photoshop Animations or buttons with animated gifs??
