Html editor for jsp

hello ppl,
is there any html editors entirely written in jsp.
i want to edit the content on weserver throught the editor.
which should have the source code available.
can u plz help me guys,
thanks

Do u think there exists any WYSIWYG HTML editor
written in JSP?They may exist, but should perform very poorly in perspective to the existing ones which are written in a clientside language, e.g. JavaScript (FckEditor and so on).
I don't even know what he actually mean?
May be he's trying for WYSIWYG editor for HTML/JSP.No, I am certainly sure that he is asking for an WYSIWYG editor written in JSP. At least, he is asking that literally in the topicstart.

  • HTML Editor for Captivate 7

Can anyone recommend a good HTML editor for Captivate 7?

Ummmm, why would you need a "good HTML editor"? HTML and Captivate 7 are two completely different things. Sure, it can output HTML, but normally you don't need a good editor to make use of it.
My guess is that you will see lots of folks recommending Adobe Dreamweaver.

  • Best editor for JSP

Who knows what editors are best to create JSP in?
I usually use TextPad for java but it show JSP files in plain black. :( I have found that MS Frontpage is the only editor that shows JSP and HTML correctly. It puts everything in the directive tags in a marron color that makes it stand out from the HTML.
But is there another editor that is good for this?
    Thanks,
    Babar

Allaire (now part of Macromedia) used to have a product called JRun Studio which was great for JSP's but I'm not sure if this is still available.
DreamWeaver is pretty nifty and one of the more cheaper options. Then again you could try any HTML editor with syntax highlighting!!
If you looking at syntax higlighting Java IDEs such as Forte4Java and JBuilder will offer this, however JBuilder is not cheap and will set you back. Forte is free for the community build but I've gone back to using text editors as many of these IDE's leave you with projects structured by their own standards (Ant and XDoclet are more flexible).
If your just after a cheap solution to syntax highlighting TextPad will let you set up your highlighting options. Code insight will cost you though.

  • External HTML editor for RH

    Hi all,
I would be interested in hearing of any external HTML editors
that RH users like using with RH instead of its internal editor.
Somebody please suggest a free (or almost free) HTML editor
that features lots of features, eg, hiliting, split Design/HTML
windows, clean XHTML code and checker.
Wasn't there once some browser called Mozila? Or was it
    called Netscape?

    >> RH MVPS? Adobe Community Expert is the term. There's
no such term as RH MVPS.
Right, now they are called Adobe Community Experts.
    >> As soon as you open the topic in RH's editor it is
    going to rewrite the code.
You know what, I don't care if RH rewrites the code, just as
long as RH leaves the result appearance looking nice, i.e., it
doesn't smash up the appearance .
    >> Go back to your original post here. What is it that
is missing in the RH editor? It will not be the cleaner code. RH7
cleaned up a lot and I expect more from RH8. But until then RH will
rewrite the code so I cannot see the benefit.
It's been a while now before I gave up in disgust, and went
to writing in Word. But I had expected to be able to work in WSYWYG
like in MEW or Word, with powerful style management. I expected
there to be an easy access Styles side pane. There is not. The
numbered lists were not reliable; they restarted when they were not
supposed to. Both numbered and bulleted lists get confused about
their indentation. It's lucky that I once taught myself MEW with
HTML/CSS , so after a short refresher I could go into the HTML view
and clean up all the code and make the lists the way they are
supposed to be. But since I am at a new client and only working
there at 100 hr/month, I had to show some real content output, and
fast, and so I had no more time for RH trial and error. So I went
back to Word (-- 2007, which I also did not know, but since I am
(supposed to be) a Word 2003 guru I knew what I was looking for and
that all the features are supposed to exist -- ) and wrote my first
    drafts with that.
Actually, I am so shocked at RH's bad WSYWGY editor, if I had
any choice I would recommend to my client to look for something
better (if such a thing exists -- dare I mention Flare...), but
since RH is an important TW skill, I want to add it to my skills
list. So if my client has recommended using RH, this is a good
opportunity to learn RH on their account.
I have a feeling that I am eventually going to make a full
circle, i.e., either I won't find cheap/free HTML editor taht does
want I want, or even if I do, I will eventually run into the
problems you mention, and I will end up writing in raw HTML, just
    as you say.
Actually, on 2nd thoughts, I also have to be honest with my
client, and I don't think they would be happy to hear that a guy
who takes over from me at some point, or is hired in addition to
me, would have to write HTML/CSS. They would want to hear that
there is some type of WSYWYG solution for RH, either internal or
    external.
    Tnx,

  • Visual Age - no editor for JSP.???

    Hi folks!
I'm sorry if this sounds dumb, but I just found that my company has VisualAge Enterprise Edition 3.5 - and it seemed very attractive to me... BUT - although it has a run time environment for JSPs, it does not seem to provide an editor to write JSPs... am I not finding something the right way..??? Also, is there a way I can set the IDE's Java classpath..?? right now, it is using antiquated versions of the jdk and jsdk APIs... Help..? Please..???

Correct Visual Age does not have a JSP editor - if you go on the Visual Age J2EE course you end up using WebSphere Studio!
Haven't used Visual Age since the course but I'm sure you can edit the class path BUT
If my experience is anything to go by you probably can't use a newer JDK as the IDE is very tied to the one it's shipped with (I tried this with WebSphere Studio to upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4 and it broke).
Visual Age probably uses the IBM JDK (Studio does) so if you can get a newer version of the IBM JDK this may work.
You could always ask nicely for an upgrade to WebSphere Studio - but beware version 4 has no applet editor!

  • What's a good editor for JSP?

Is there a text editor available that is customized for JSP? For example, I use Allaire (now Macromedia) Studio for writing ColdFusion and it's nice because it has built in shortcuts for the tags, comments, etc, which saves keystrokes. Is there something similar for JSP coding?

dreamweaver doesn't do anything for you, if you want
to use Java as your embedded scripting lang (unlike if
u want to use javascript), so it's no better than
notepad, apart from it uses colours, and you can see a
preview (but only of the static bits!).It's better than notepad in that you can specify all your server and ftp details

  • Licensing and HTML Editor for Large No of Content Providers

    Hi All
Currently evaluating RH (paln to use XHTML editor for source and targets will be WebHelp, hopefully with RH Server and export to Word for manual). We have a suite of 17 apps and will use a master project and child projects for each app. Got that all setup and my master pages, etc. Export to word looks pretty good.
I have about 20 content providers (no dedicated documentation resources), so I need a way for them to contribute styled content. I really don't want them using Word as it's too easy for them to stray from the supplied styles (we have that problem now for our Word docs). I'm keeping the style pretty simple (Para Styles: ChapterHead, H1-4 and Normal. Char Styles: MenuOption and Note, One OL and one UL. I'm sure I'll add a few more.) So I need to find a way for content authors to contribute and edit. (from what I've read, the PDF review will work well for review cycles. Seems my options are:
RH: I'm assuming that if I want them to use RH editor they all need a copy of RH @ $1,000 a seat, so that's out of the question.
Adobe Contribute may be an option: any using it with RH? IF so, how well does it integrate?
It seems my best option (to get the project approved and off the ground--read "low startup cost") is a simple free WYSIWYG HTML editor. I can supply everyone the CSS and a template, and they can create clean HTML. Anyone got any recommendations?
    Other choices? Looking for suggestions
Any comments/suggestions on the above plan?
    Regards
    Mark

There is an article on my site about using Contribute. I tried it and how well it works depends on your level of patience and the people using it. I gave up after a while! RoboHelp has changed to XHTML since I tried so that may also be an issue.
The free HTML editors may not understand RoboHelp's processing instructions and may well munge them, be very careful. Some are based on the Gecko engine and my experience is that inserts tons of blank lines.
I think I would explore using Linking first. If that does not work for you, let them edit in Word and you then use Word's "compare files" function to find the changes and make them manually. We have also asked editors to mark any changes with three hash symbols so that we can search for the changes quickly. It may sound a bit archaic but it works very well.

  • Mozilla n' Firefox shows HTML source for JSP(URGENT!!)

    Hi all,
I have made a web application with JSPs. It seems to work fine with IE. However, with Mozilla and Firefox, it displays the HTML source generated by JSP instead of actually showing the HTML page for that source.
I'm stumped because I haven't found any other msgs on forums with someone experiencing the same problem. Any help would be appreciated. I need to fix this urgently.

  • HTML Editor for creating e-mail templates for SAP Cloud for Customer

    Hi Techies,
Is there any preferred software for creating e-mail templates to use with SAP Cloud for Customers ? I mean to avoid unnecessary errors when creating standard e-mail template which are recognized unified manner within the system.
Will appreciate with rewards points for best support.

Here is a template for the wire-frame that we used. We went with pure HTML tables so that the response could be multi-client compatible. We found that additional code caused issues with certain clients. In the middle table, we had linked icons to our respective self serve properties and additional support options for Chat and our own Support Community.
The content of the email will be placed where #Text# is. Our email responses include the content and the basic signature. We also provide our detailed legal disclaimer at the bottom with additional links if needed.
Let me know if you have any questions.
    Thanks!

  • HTML Editor for iWeb

I create websites on a MAC with iWeb. This doesn't allow me to play with the html code. Is there a FREE software product I can access and change the html code once I have published my website. And will the html code remain changed even if I'm doing additional changes to content and layout in iWeb and republishing??
    Thanks

Thanks for asking those questions... I have TextEdit but can't figure out how to edit/add html to my website after I've "published" it to a folder on our computer. I read that there are some settings you have to change but the person didn't know what they were. Does anyone know?
All I would like to do is add some metatags (that seem to have helped with good placement of our FrontPage website) as well as add a some copyright html.
Thank you very much! We sure appreciate it! We're new to Macs... & are loving ours!
    Sincerely
    Kiply

  • How to use iWeb as your WYSIWIG editor for HTML

Yes, it can be done - and as such, it is the best 'free' html editor for the mac, by far.
design and publish your web page with iWeb. In the end, if you are going to paste the html in an email or some such thing, simpler is better. but don't be afraid to include graphics and colors . . . everything that probably doesn't require javascript (because the email clients are definitely not going to render that).
    then . . . .
    - download the source of the page. (here after referred to as FileName.html)
    - replace any of the local links with the full http:// prefix - especially for images. (this can be done quickly with a simple find and replace)
    - download the css for the page (naming convention is FileName_files/FileName.css in the same directory as the FileName.html file )
    - use the emogirphy tool at pelago design to merge the css style sheet with the html to create inline style tags for the html http://www.pelagodesign.com/sidecar/emogrifier/
that's it, now you have perfectly useable html that doesn't require style sheets, which you can use for sending emails, or archiving on your own computer. . . whatever you need.
hope this is helpful - it was for me.

  • HTML editor with syntax highlighting and UTF-8 support

In an ongoing effort to move our lives into the cloud and into our pockets (and as a part of an article series for a tech blog), me and a friend are trying to completely replace the need for computers with our iPhones.
In some ways, it is going splendidly (Documents to Go Premium + foldable bluetooth keyboard = all my writing needs as a journalist solved). In others, concessions have to be made (as a practicing musician, my options are a bit limited, but with the help of Xewton Music Studio, Multitrack DAW/NanoStudio, etc, I can at least lay down some basic tracks, create basic MIDI compositions, etc).
However, there is one area in where we’ve made no headway at all. My friend has the great misfortune of being blessed with logic , and therefore, unlike me, does honest programming and web app designing work. And as far as we know, there is not a single HTML/script editor with more than just the bare, basic functions in the app store.
    What we need is this:
    * Syntax highlighting
    * Support for UTF-8
A built-in FTP editor would be a nice bonus, but is not essential.
We found one for the iPad, but when we contacted the company behind the app, they revealed no immediate plans for an iPhone version. (They felt coding on the iPhone was, at best, impractical, but they did concede the fact that if there are indeed users who have that need, the existence of an iOS HTML editor would be justified, and possible lucrative, regardless of their feelings on the matter. On that ground, they promised to examine the possibilities to port their iPad app in the future, but so far, no signs.)
Does anyone know of such an app? Rest assured your assistance will be mentioned in the article series should you point us in the right direction

Unfortunately, my friend has offered his iPhone an ultimatum. No syntax highlighting, no computer replacement. It is strange that such as standardized feature has not found its way into any known HTML editor for iOS.
But FTPOntheGo seems to be a great app in general, so thanks!
