Html from flash 9 WAY different than flash MX

Does flash 9 do something majorly different with ActiveX or
something?
After "publishing" a flash 9 slide show to html, it shows NO
swf content in dreamweaver. Yet this show plays. Problem is, it
wont align and now there is no alignment options, even tho the code
says center.
There is also a lot of code for accessibility, and detecting
flash player #?
Can I "downgrade" this show to flash MX? It wont open in
Flash 9 (CS3) now so i can't just do it the old way.
It's all action script 2
Anyone?

in flash cs3 create AS2 document instead of AS3

I am a surgical resident, and I bring my ipod with me to the OR all the time; I use the JBL soundstage in the OR. The problem is, all of the songs that I bought through iTunes are WAY louder than everything else.
I have used MP3gain. I've gone through all my .m4a and iTunes store songs and adjusted them one-by-one. The only difference it makes is with the earbuds.
The Killers are whisper quiet in my headphones and way too f-ing loud in the OR.
    Please help.
If not for me, than for my pateint's sake.

And yes, I have used sound check, and it made no difference

In the future, there won't be any Flash. Adobe, who makes it, has cancelled future versions for mobile devices like the iPad:
    http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/11/adobe-kills-mobile-flash/
You should check if there is another way to get the live stream. For example, I sometimes watch online classes on a site that uses Flash for the video. But they also provide a non-Flash video stream that can be watched in an iPhone or iPad web browser, and an iOS app that you can also use to watch the stream.

  • Why is WB temperature way different than what's set in my camera?

I did search for the topic before I posted and only one relevant post came up (in the last month) which moreless confirmed the same issue with a different camera.
I shoot Olympus E1, so I dialed 7500K and fired a shot. Imported into Aperture and looking at WB scale and it reads 6186K. The image looks as if Aperture showed the image correctly, but the number is way off. 1300K difference??? So obviously if I move it to 7500 it will not be correct anymore because it will be rather 8800 in reality.
Second thing I did right after, was to look at EXIF and sure enough Aperture showed no value in WB field.
For a comparison purpose I looked at the shot in ACR and found out that the temperature was spot on. So this is not rather whether Olympus is hiding the value so it's difficult to retrieve, but rather how is Aperture coming up with so wrong figure.
I am also curious how can Aperture get the image colored correctly if it cannot figure out the set WB value in camera properly.
Puzzling to say the least and confusing possibly for processing work.
    Thanks
    Marek

    Hi Marek,
There are a couple ways you can get white balance "right."
    1) You can shoot a grey card (or something like an ExpoDisc) in the field and then set the white balance of the camera onsite.
    2) You can shoot the same grey card onsite and leave the camera on AWB, and shoot everything. Then go back and eyedropper the grey card and batch change all your photos.
#2 is quicker... but they both work equally well.
But practically you will not "get it right" by setting the white balance to a preset in the field. "Daylight" at 5000K (or whatever the setting in your camera is), is a total WAG. The actual color temperature may be 4500K or 6300K in that setting -- you will have very little chance of getting it right by picking an auto setting. You COULD break out a spectropherometer and measure and find it is 5002K so use 5000K in camera, but again if Aperture came up with 4837 you'll still want to edit later.
If you are "serious about your shooting" where "serious" means accurate, then you are going to be shooting indoors under controlled lighting conditions. You will also shoot with a full GMB card which has all the colors and tints and hues, so you can get absolutely correct colors (HELLO, FASHION AND ADVERTISING PHOTOGRAPHY). If you do landscape, then color temperature, as is contrast and a number of other things, is open to interpretation. When I was shooting with Seth Resnick in Antarctica a few weeks back, his rule of thumb was basically "Start at 6500K and warm it up from there." lol. Still, his images are beautiful.

  • Adobe Muse Displays Colours WAY differently than Web Browsers

Hello, I did a live chat about this and he refered me to post here. I tried reinstalling Muse and reseting preferences but this didn't work. Colours displayed in Adobe Muse appear dirastically more vibrant than in all web browsers. It's not just subtle, It's a a fairly noticable difference and it makes it hard to design accuratly.
Here is how the colours look in muse:
    And in the web browser:
    Thanks to all in advance!

    Hello,
You can simply copy the URL (that is there in the browser's address bar when you preview in Browser from Muse) and paste it to any other browser's address bar, then hit enter to see how that looks in other browsers.

  • How to compile from a folder different than bin

    Greetings guys
I remember that a line must be added to some file, or maybe a special command is used.
Can you tell me how, please?

    Variable Name :
    javac bin
    Variable Value:
F:\j2sdk1.4.1\binI think you may have misunderstood. When you get to step 6, you should get a small window titled
Edit System Variable correct? The first textfield should have Path written in it. The textfield
under the path textfield should have a bunch of paths to various directories something like so (yours will
differ a bit but don't worry about it):
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem notice each dir is separated by a ';'
Now, all you have to do is type the complete path to your bin directory at the end of the textfield. For example
if I were to add my bin directory, the above bold line would look like this:
    %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\jdk1.5.0\bin
I hope that helps, PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT delete the lower textfield and save. It's meant for users to
append directories to the end of the field. If you delete info from the lower textfield, you may experience
some major OS problems. The PATH variable is used as a convenience of being able to type a command
from anywhere in the prompt. Any executable can be run from anywhere in a prompt provided that the
executable's directory is appended to the end of the Path variable. That's why you can run commands from
the prompt such as cd, exit, paint, ver, etc

  • Flash.system.System.totalMemory different than Windows mem display

Anyone know why flash.system.System.totalMemory is much
different than what I see FlashPlayer taking up in the Windows Task
    Manager?
I would expect to see some overhead, but the differences I'm
seeing are quite large (i.e. 80MB vs 150MB).
    Thanks

I may have run into something that might be related. The project I am working on was going fine until I added updates and switch from VGA to HDMI. I added the updates via ICE rather than download after install. The OS install went through the normal
routine and rebooted. I removed the installation disk and the system rebooted and started to continue the install process. Then the screen went blank as if the system was going to reboot... nothing. I checked the HDMI output and still nothing. I removed
all the updates and tried again, same exact result. If I power cycle the message says that the install failed.
I went into the BIOS and found the video settings had support for CRT, HDMI and LVDS. I have ran into LVDS issues before. I disable LVDS, and set the system to output from CRT. This time the OS installer worked as expected. My guess is that the video driver
switched to the LVDS screen. You might be getting a video driver update - check the BIOS settings and disable LVDS if enabled.
Sean Liming - Book Author: Starter Guide SIM (WEI), Pro Guide to WE8S & WES 7, Pro Guide to POS for .NET - www.annabooks.com / www.seanliming.com
There's no driver updates, also I don't have the option for LVDS in the bios. The computer has a display port and HDMI, I'm using the HDMI.
I re-imaged the computer and tried updating 1 update at a time to try an isolate the problem. About 5 updates in I realized it would take several hours to complete the job, so I started to group the updates. The problem re-occurred with the following
    group of updates.
    KB2991963
    KB2992611
    KB2993958
    KB3003743
    KB3004361
Unfortunately I don't see a correlation. I re-imaged and re-installed the updates on 3 other identical machines and could not reproduce the problem. Very frustrating...

Airport time capsule 2 TB. All is connected and Wi-Fi is working but light still flashes amber rather than solid green. I have tried to reset but this still happens. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to?

You want to see a green light on the Time Capsule.
Once you have set up the Time Capsule initially, a flashing amber light indicates that the Time Capsule has a message for you....possibly about a network condition or notice of an update that is available.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the amber dot and another window will appear to provide the current status....along with suggested actions to remedy the flashing amber light.

  • How to test with the standard Flash player, rather than debug player

    Folks,
I am interested in running my flexunit 4 tests against the standard flash player, rather than the debug player that comes with the SDK.  Is this possible?
BTW, I am working on Windows for now.
I installed both the flash ActiveX control for IE, and the standard flash plugin for Firefox.  I then associated the SWF file extension with Firefox using the "Open With" dialog.  I had to choose a single program, and the browser appeared to be my only choice, as I could not find any sort of "FlashPlayer10.exe" to associate with.  I ran my ant script that calls <flexunit>, and it kind of works.  It launches Firefox, runs the tests, and the results get piped back, but Firefox is not shut down.  Yep, Firefox stays open after the tests complete.  I seem to recall that the debug flash player would close itself after being opened by <flexunit>.  I tried using IE, and the same result occurs: the browser is not shutdown after the tests complete.  This behavior makes for an unacceptable test setup, as eventually the system memory on the machine will be exhausted as more and more browsers are opened and not closed.
    Questions/options:
    1) Is there a standard flash player "executable" somewhere on my system that I can associate the SWF files with (that would hopefully shut itself down)?
    2) Second choice, is there a way to get the browser to close after <flexunit> completes?
    3) or am I stuck using the debug player?  I am concerned that testing management at my company might not like the fact that we are testing against a debug player, rather than the standard one that users will likely be using. If flexunit 4 CI only supports the debug player, is there something I can say to appease management?
    Thanks for any help...
    Trevor

@trevorbutler - Here are my 2 cents, but the group may have a different perspectives for your questions.
Currently, we suggest the use of the CIListener class as a FU4 listener for use when building your test SWF to run via the FU4 Ant task.  This class (http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/flexunit/branches/4.x/FlexUnit4CIListener/src/o rg/flexunit/listeners/CIListener.as) uses the fscommand() function to send a message to its host environment to exit (i.e. - fscommand("quit")).  This command is only recognized by the Flash projector and stand-alone players, which are thin wrappers around the Flash Player so that it may be executed as its own process in the OS.  Based on the setup you are describing, the behavior you're seeing should be expected since the browser is the host environment for the Flash Player.  When the browser recieves the resulting message of the fscommand("quit") call nothing will happen since the browser doesn't support this command.  If you use the Flash projector or stand-alone players however, they will exit when recieving the results of this command.  The projector/stand-alone players come in two flavors, release and debug.  Release will act very closely to the typical plugin installed in the web browser (e.g. - swallows errors, no debug support, etc) whereas debug will allow you to write log files to the system, show error messages, etc.  Currently the debug stand-alones are available on Windows, Mac, Linux and the release stand-alone is only available on Linux.
    To address your questions:
    1.  If you've installed the Flash Player browser plugin, there is no way that I know of to launch the player as its own process.  I've only had success using the projector/stand-alone player (http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html).
    2.  The Flash Player does have the ability to send javascript to the browser to ask it to close the current window, but most modern browser will prompt the user to confirm they'd like to close the window if its the only open window.  Additionally, taking this approach on Mac, the browser process would remain active until an explicit call is made to the host OS to shut down the browser process.  The Ant task could be enhanced to use the browser to launch the Flash Player, but that is not currently on our checklist of features to support.  If it's something you'd be interested in contributing, let me know and I can work with you on this.
    3.  For the time being the FlexUnit4 Ant task only supports the stand-alone Flash Player (and adl soon), which for Windows only comes in the debug flavor. The only thing I've run into with the stand-alone player is that ExternalInterface reports that its enabled, but since the host environment is not the browser, javascript calls made via this class will fail, consequently causing tests to fail.  I haven't tried anything with shared objects or flashvars but my assumption is that they should work correctly, but anything that depends on the browser has the potential not to.
As far as your testing management goes, I would discuss with them the problem context FlexUnit4 hopes to solve.  The framework is intended to produce unit and integration tests.  Functional testing is not withing the scope of the library.  Although, it's technically feasible to write integration tests which will exercise components similarly to a functional test, tools such as FlexMonkey, Selenium Flex, QTP, etc are much better geared towards this problem domain.  Test recording and playback, using these tools, is typically done using the FP browser plugin and is much easier to use by most QA and testing staff.  At the end of the day, as we're testing our code using FlexUnit at a smaller granularity than that of which the user interacts with in our application.  To reliably test the applicaiton as the user would interact with it requires additional tooling and a different type of testing.
Like I said, just my take, maybe some of the other guys can help as well.

  • GetURL:javascript blocked when called from a frame action in flash?

    Hi,
I'm wrapping a load of flash/html eLearning content into air
packages - or at least I was!
The content is really old - flash 6 - and part of how it
works is once it has loaded, it calls a javascript function, via a
frame action. Each eLearning module relies on this call getting
    made...
Sadly, this javascript call is never received - and having
done a test it is purely down to the call being from a frame rather
than a button (or other user interaction).
eg. a movie with 10 frames. frame 10 has this action:
    (remember this is flash 6!)
    stop();
    getURL("javascript:foo());
    foo is never called.
But put a button in with:
    on(release){
    getURL("javascript:foo());
that works fine. Same call, but via a button.
So really the question is - with air (or even is it something
in new flash security?) - is there some reason why a frame action
cannot call javascript? And if so - is there a parameter that can
be set (like allowScriptAccess type thing - although tried that!)
that will allow it again? Basically with over 1000 different flash
movies, I'm not really in a position to re-code (eg.
ExternalInterface does work! But can't recode 1000 movies to use
    that!).
I've searched and can't see anything saying specifically a
frame action call to javascript will be ignored, but clearly it
    is...
    Any idea, anyone?
    Thanks.

You are calling the script while the mouse button is still
    down-- a
    hijacking truck.
While it still works in older/unpatched IE, Microsoft has
    disabled
resizeBy/To and moveBy/To while the mouse button is down.
    Obviously, when
you have to click the Alert dialog's OK button, the mouse is
    no longer down.
You'll need to take a different approach.

  • Trouble exporting photos from iPhoto directly to a flash drive

    Hi,
When I exported 7 photos from my iPhoto library, all marked JPEG, directly to my 256MB Memorex flash drive (first time of usage), a strange thing happened. When I opened the flash drive on my computer, 5 photos showed up visually showing the image and two showed up as Generic JPEG icons.
The 5, (from info) were now marked Unix Executable File and the 2 Generics (from info) were marked JPEG.
In going to Target, then CVS Drugs and then Walgreens to have prints made, all their machines showed no images available.
All the images were taken on an HP photosmart 435, 3.1 MP digital camera.
Fortunately, all the images were still on the camera media and they then printed out very well when I returned to Target with the camera media

    Hi captaindad,
I had a similar problem using a flash drive using iPhoto on a Mac and PS on a PC... when I first plugged in the Flash Drive in the PC, most images appeared but not all. I kept refreshing the window and all eventually appeared.
Now, I just drag and copy from iPhoto directly to my flash drive and all seems to be working smoother using this method rather than the export option, also doing it this way always ends up with an Image Thumbnail v. Generic JPEG icon... Rick

  • Possible to prevent Firefox from loading two versions of Flash, without disabling PLID scan?

Our IT department—what a great way to start a question—does not roll out regular updates for Flash. To bridge this security gap for Firefox on my work computer, I copy the following files:
    * flashplayer.xpt
    * FlashPlayerPlugin_<version>.exe
    * FlashUtil32_<version>_Plugin.exe
    * NPSWF32_<version>.dll
from C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash on another machine and paste them to
C:\Users\<myusername>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Plugins on my work machine. When Firefox starts, it scans the various locations (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin_scanning) and finds both this version and of course the outdated version originally installed, which IT does not update (currently 11.1.102.55). This effectively updates Flash, and until IT finds a solution to distribute updates I'll have to continue to update Flash manually (Java is unfortunately not so easy to fix), but still leaves me with a problem.
My perceived problem is that Firefox still scans the default installation directory of Flash and thus finds the outdated version. Under Add-ons > Plug-ins, I can select from "Ask to Activate," "Always Activate" and "Never Activate." If I select "Ask to Activate" for the current version (12.0.0.43) and "Never Activate" for the old version (11.1.102.55), upon restarting Firefox it sets both to "Ask to Activate." I conclude that Firefox does not treat separate Flash versions independently. Since constantly being prompted to activate Flash is bothersome, I could just set both to "Always Activate," but that leaves an old, even-more-compromised-than-the-current version of Flash activated.
The best solution, I suppose, would be to uninstall the outdated version of Flash, but I don't have the administrative rights to do so, and don't want to pester our IT administrators. I could prevent Firefox from scanning the directories specified in the Windows registry for PLIDs (see above link), but this would prevent it from finding my also-outdated-but-only-installed Java Plug-In, which I keep thinking I need. The behavior I'm after is to prevent Firefox from scanning or finding the old Flash version, while still finding my Java Plug-in. How could I go about this?
    Thanks

Maybe you can check the pluginreg.dat file to see if you can disable/remove the other Flash plugin and make the file read-only to prevent changes.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
