Http 403 error on trying to edit user profile details in sharepoint 2010

Hi,
After going to My site of our site, user is able to click ‘Edit my profile’.
On clicking Edit my profile user is getting navigated to following URL which is expected
https://mysite.myorg.comlayouts/Editprofile.aspx?accountname=domainname%5cusername
and  browser shows http 403 , the website declined to show the webpage.
But actually after clicking ‘edit my profile’ user should be able to edit his profile details.
Please let me know if I am missing any configuration that is missing to achieve.
Regards,

  • Shared Services - HTTP 403 error when trying to access from user's PC

We recently upgraded to Shared Services 9.3.1. We can get into the User Mgt Console when remoted into the Shared Services server; however, when I try to access the URL from my PC, I get an HTTP 403 error. I have confirmed in my Internet Options/Security that I have the Shared Services server as a trusted site. From looking at the error closer, it appears that it finds the website, but the website denies my computer access. If I remote into one of our other Hyperion servers and use the Shared Services URL, it works fine. What do we need to change so that the Hyperion admins can access the Shared Services URL from their own PC w/o having to remote into the servers?
    Terri

I never tried using the IP address until just a few minutes ago and I still got the HTTP 403 error.
I also just tried using Mozilla and got the following error:
The Server is not able to service this request: [Server:002621]Connection rejected, the server license allows connections from only 5 unique IP addresses.
When we upgraded from Shared Services 9.2.0.2 to 9.3.1, we also upgraded BEA WebLogic from 8.1.4 to 9.2. We did not have this issue when using 8.1.4.
    Thanks for your help!

    Abhishek Madan

    Hi Abhishek,
According to your description, my understanding is that the User Profile Synchronization service stuck on ‘Starting’ or ‘Stopping’.
Please check whether you installed SQL 2012 Native Client (Pre-requisites) on SharePoint server. If yes, download and install SQL 2008 R2 Native Client from the below location:
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/1/3/9138773A-505D-43E2-AC08-9A77E1E0490B/1033/x64/sqlncli.msi
From the SharePoint server ->control panel -> add/Remove programs , please confirm that the SQL 2008 Native Client is listed.
Make sure that the farm account is a member of the Administrators group on the server on which you are trying to start the User Profile Synchronization service, then restart the SharePoint Timer Service.
Set the FIM services to "Local System" before starting the service.
There is a troubleshooting for User Profile Synchronization Service start issues, please have a look at:

  • Error when trying to pulish an InfoPath form to SharePoint 2010 list

    I am getting this error:
The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:
Server was unable to process request.--->  Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Any ideas on why I can't publish form and how I might fix this?
    Laura

    Hi Laura,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you published your InfoPath form.
I aggreed with Sangha said, please check the "Design Checker" to check if there are any errors in the form.
If yes, I suggest you remove the related fields and check if the form can be published successfully.

we have configured  file server in km portal as fsdb mode in portal (ep 7  sp 14). We were able to edit locally the documents . But all of a sudden from some of the PCs  we are getting the following error while  trying to edit the documents.
The download of the document failed .
Is there any PC specific configuration required? For the same user  we are able to edit the documents from some PCs  but from another it is not working.

    Hi,
You have to set your activex control properly. then only edit locally in KM will work.

  • Java error when trying to edit file - access denied

We have been running Vibe 3.0 for a couple years with no issues but suddenly users have begun to get java errors when trying to edit a file from Vibe. When a file entry is opened and the "Edit this file" link is clicked, a dialog pops up that says :
    Error from command:
    java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission <<ALL FILES>> execute)
Has anyone else seen this? Could it be related to some windows security update perhaps? Any ideas how to resolve would be appreciated. This happens with regular users as well as admin.
Vibe is running on SLES 10 with mysql. We are using IIS Windows Authentication.

  • Http 403 errors ...

    HI All,
we have an ADF application developed using jdev 11.1.2.1.
we have some web pages that are assigned to the application
    role: users.
the app role is mapped to the enterprise role: agt_users.
after deploying to a WLS standalone server, we were able to
login, but a http 403 error was returned.
i have tried creating a role in myrealm->global_roles->agt_users,
and have added the group/user to role.
    we're still getting 403 errors.
how can we create an enterprise role, so that the pages can
    be returned ?
thanks very much in advance ...
    sam

So, u have Application Roles which is mapped to Enterprise Roles & Users under Application Roles, thats fine.
however, we cannot find places to add the required
enterprise roles.Means, u didnot see any place in weblogic to create Enterprise Roles ?
Enterprise Roles in weblogic is equivalent to Group which u can find at Security Realms>myrealm>Users & Groups>Groups.
Create your Enterprise Roles of Application & under it assign Users here.
In your deployment file (.EAR) - From Application Menu>Application Properties>Deployment , deslect 'users & groups' checkbox which will prevent to upload of local user & group.
Bz u are creating your Users & Groups specifically in weblogic.

  • Http 403 error message when connecting to WRT120n router

I recently upgraded to the WRT120n router at home. I quickly connected my desktop computer, my wife's Mac and two Lenovos, but my son's HP Pavilion cannot access the Internet. It returns the http 403 error message. Windows (Vista) and Network Magic tell me the laptop is connected to the router and the Internet, but the browser does not work. Have tried IE, Chrome and Firefox - same result. Have also tried to connect with cable. Hooking up wirelessly with WPA, was no problem, but the browser is unable to access the Internet.
    Grateful for any help.

What is the ip address you are getting on the Vista Computer..?
Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt...A black box will appear(Command Prompt)...In the Command Prompt window type ipconfig and press 'Enter'...Look for Wireless Network Connection IP Address , Subnet Mask and Default Gateway...
IP Address should be 192.168.1.x, Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1 (assuming your router is 192.168.1.1)...
If you get the above mentioned IP Address, Subnet and Gateway Address then you should ping the Gateway, type ping 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...If it gives you request timed out then disable any firewalls, security softwares on the computer...
If you get 4 replies then type ping 4.2.2.2 and press Enter, if you get request timed out, then you need to upgrade your router's firmware...If you get 4 replies then type ping yahoo.com and press Enter...If you get replies for Yahoo then you should get the Internet after adjusting the browser settings...
Adjusting Browser Settings : Open an IE, click Tools >> Internet Options, then delete all files, cookies, history, forms...Goto "Connections", make sure Never Dial a Connection is checked, click on LAN Settings and make sure all the options are unchecked...Once you are done click on O.k...Close the IE and re-open it...
If yahoo times out then provide static DNS on your LAN Connection...
Click on the Start button >>> Settings >>> Control Panel >>>Network Connections- Right click on the icon for Wireless Network Connection and go to properties- On the 'General' tab select 'Internet Protocol TCP/IP' and click on the Properties button- Select 'Use the Following DNS Settings' Preferred DNS 4.2.2.2 Alternate DNS - 192.168.1.1>>Click on Ok button to Save and Click on "Close" on main Properties window...You should be able to go online...

  • HTTP 403 Error in AS2 Connection

    Hi,
Would really appreciate some inputs on this one. Just to give a background, we're tying to establish an AS2 connection between us and a 3rd party.  The 3rd party tried to send a test message using our connecton details, but they got an HTTP 403 Error - Forbidden when trying to send a message.
    I have confirmed the following:
    - All the certificates (AS2 certificate, SSL, etc) needed for this has been uploaded in the 3rd party's system.
    - The firewall has be opened for the 3rd party's sending IP address.
    - We have also uploaded the 3rd party's certificates to our system.
    - I checked the destination url of the message, and it seems that it is up as well.
As I am not very familiar and new to AS2, I'm currently stuck and running out of possible options.
Is anyone familiar with this? And, a possible cause and solution?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Ivan,
Actually, we have verified our AS2 ID that is set up in the 3rd party already, and it should already be the expected one. Although, I think I will need to ask them the full details already.
I also tried the tool you gave (was helpful btw), and it seems that I was able to send a message successfully to the 3rd party. This was the log:
OUTGOING TRANSMISSION TO ... Originator: ... Recipient: ... Signature: on Encryption: on Compression: off MDN Requested: Asynchronous: http://localhost:8080/AsyncMDN.aspx MDN Signature: on Transmission was successful. -TIMESTAMP Tue, 14 Jul 2009 13:03:20 +08:00 [1247547800343]- Verification of receipt is pending an asynchronous MDN.
The problem is as this software is on my localhost. I'm not sure if it is practical to have the 3rd party test and send to this  other connection for this dummy server as this won't be used anyway in the planned implementation.
So I guess the conclusion that I got from this is so far, the configuration that I currently did on the actual connection is supposedly to be correct, and that the problem is on the 3rs party's side? Is that right?

  • 500 internal server error when trying to create users

I am getting a 500 internal server error when trying to create users. What is the cause? We tried reinstalling the latest java jdk release and that didn't help.

Check whether your DBControl or ASControl service is still running or crashed. EM is not able to connect to the Management Server.
For instance in Windows, you may see that the Servise is not started. Then check for error logs in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/logs for any related error messages in the log files

  • Edit User profile Property - grayed out buttons

I am trying to change the mapping for the Work email property in the User Profile but when I edit the property on the "Edit User Profile Property" page, the Property Mapping for Synchronization's "Remove" button is grayed out as well
as Add New mappings "Add" button. I am logged on with the Farm account which has admin rights to  the UP.

    Hi ,
For the Add New Mapping's "Add" button grayed out, when I change to another/second "Synchronization Connection" from "Source Data Connection" dropdown, then "Add" button will be available.
For the Property Mapping for Synchronization's "Remove" button grayed out,
please make sure your Farm account or user account has the following permissions, then check results again.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee721049(v=office.15).aspx#MapUserProc
The user account that performs this procedure is a farm administrator or an administrator of the User Profile service application.
The user account that performs this procedure is a member of the Administrators group on the computer that is running SharePoint Server.
    Thanks
