Http_server error
Hi,
I have a problem starting 10g R2 AS with the http failed to start. The error message is like this:
Syntax error on line 216 of d:/ora10ginfra/apache/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load d:/ias_infra/apache/apache/modules/apachemoduleperl.dll into server: (126) The specified module could not be found:
I've installed a 5.8 version of perl installed for some cloning reasons. Thats the only change i did and i don know why the http is not coming up now.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I just did some testing. Take a look at your line vty configuration.
If there's a transport input protocol defined, like 'transport input ssh' the vty lines will not accept http connections, hence the 'out of lines' error.
If you change this into 'transport input all' it'll work.
When I said I did nothing for a couple of days, I meant I did do a reboot. As I was setting up my switch I had probably set the transport input to ssh and didn't save. So after the reload it was set to transport input all again.
This does leave an issue, that telnet access to the switch is possible and I don't like that. You can of course block this by using access lists.
I also wonder why there's no possibility to do 'transport input http'

Error starting HTTP_Server.
I've seen a lot of posts for this issue, but no definitive resolution.
Build: Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 8)
OAS: 10.1.3
Desired Build: Integrated HTTP Server/OC4j
The log entry contains the following:
06/10/06 09:00:06 Start process
When I try to start up the http server alone I receive:
Ouch! ap_mm_create(1048576, "/tmp/apache/logs/mm.8864") failed
Error: MM: mm:core: failed to open memory file (No such file or directory): OS: No such file or directory
Researching this doesn't give me much.
Can someone point me in the right direction to resolve this? I tried metalink...they have a patch for solaris, not much else. I've looked the forum over and didn't find much other than unanswered posts for the same issue. On the wire I found something aobut the sysctl settings needing to be changed. Is there documentation somewhere about what kernel parameters need to be set for an OAS install on Redhat ES 3? Have I overlooked some other resources?
Sincerely,
-abe

[oracle@oas bin]$Hi,
THis error has nothing to do with your as , I "think"U must focus on three points
1- Kernel parameters
2- Memory
-3 space on you FS
Ok. before you start to look here &there. just stop all your AS process
make sure no process for your as is up & running.
under /Apache/Apache/logs U 'll find a file http.pid just delete this one.
then Restart your AS per process
#opmnctl startproc process-type= (process-type)
check again the error & let me know

Look in

for a more detailed reason of the error . You should find a line with text "Start process" and after this probably more information
about why it cannot be started

MSi followed the link and all the instructions things seemed to go well: it still asked for two files i did not have or could not locate: first its asked for generalstub, then it asked for seedstup and then generalstup again. at this point the installation was at 67% and had passed the link succesful stage and was at the setup succeful stage. when i clicked ignore on generalstub, seedstup and then generalstup again it quicly moved to 100% and never took me to the stage for me to run oraInstroot.sh and allroot.sh
the configuration assistant stage never cameup and it skipped to the page Specify Repository Database Configuration
where it asked for repository database hostname port, service/sid and SYSMAN password and also manament service security password. whe i input all the infor mation it will give errors. i have tries deleting all oracle 3 or 4 times and all files that oracle has and repeated the process and am always stuck here.
error reads :

-exception occured while connecting to database . please check the connection details you specified and retry

AmitHi Cema,
Make sure that httpd.conf file (located at /ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf ) has not changed.
Is your AS running on Linux? ".so" is used in case of linux only and for windows extension should be ".dll"
Please use the same if your http server is running on windows. HTTP Server documetation may have more details related to this.

Can this error occur due to any changes while enabling SSL in opmn.xml or while specifying the wallet location in tip.properties?
MLR #5 Patch has been installed on B2B
Thanks & Regards,
Suhas. Please the wallet location specified in the Apache SSL configuration holds the wallet. File to look for "$ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/ssl.conf".
Look for the directory name configured against "SSLWallet" and the directory should contain valid ewallet.p12.
Sample installation in my box,
SSLWallet file:C:\Oracle10g\midtier2\Apache\Apache\conf\ssl.wlt\default

J2ee Application Deployed,error connecting to 9i db
Hi,
I am working on a Oracle 10g 9.0.4 AS and a Oracle 9i db, both of which I have just installed on red Hat Linux 2.1 Advanced Server.
I have deployed a j2ee ear file in an OC4J container. The deployment works fine as I get the login page correctly. But it fails to go further than that and gives an error "contact system administrator".The Http Server logs show the following error messages :

I have configured a user in the database with the reqd schema and also a datasource pointing to it and whose jndi name I have specified in the application.
Also, I get an error saying in the OC4J container :
05/03/25 13:02:28 log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.struts.util.PropertyMessageResources).
05/03/25 13:02:28 log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
indicating that mebbe the logging hasnt been successfully installed and that's mebbe why I am not getting proper error messages.
I am thinking that there maybe some error in the connection to the 9i database, but cant figure out what.

I run the ./opmnctl status command which gave me the error

Thx for your help!
Merci si vous pouvez m'aider !Its too early to conclude the issue is a bug with out looking into the logs. For the same reason i requested you to open an SR so that we can have a look at the logs and identify the cause. If you are Oracle employee then you can share the VM details else we need logs to debug this further. If any one from your company can open an sr and share logs then that will be helpful. Can you also check if the shiphome that you downloaded is all correct and checksum/byte matches to what is mentioned on OTN.

Opmnctl , http_server timeout
Hello,
i faced this issue after i installed BI Discoverer 10.1.2.0 into Windows Server 2003.
When i type opmnctl startall, the error shows that process timeout for http_server
Error

Log:

the http_server is always down and never up..can anyone help me on this??Hi
I ask this question a lot in here but do you have a fully qualified domain name in your HOSTS file on the server? Also, what is the name by which the computer is known? If its now fully qualified you won't get application server to work.
Please check these things first and let us know your findings.
Best wishes

I'm sure the Oracle SOA Suite Version is 10.1.4. I get Oracle Application Server 10g Software (10.1.3.x) at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/index.html.
And I get the patchs(p5983637_101420_LINUX.zip, p5983640_101420_LINUX.zip) from metalink.
It works well for about half of year. A few days ago, my workmate stop the server use command './opmnctl shutdown', but this command no response, so she reboot the server, And it didn't work now.
