Hyperion Financial Report Export to Excel Issue

Hello,
We recently upgraded to 11.1.2.1 and I have had several users tell me that they are having an issue when trying to export a report from the workspace into Excel. It hangs up their computer and they have to close down the browser and start over. I had a user today try exporting to Word and Power Point but they still had the same problem.
Unfortunately, there are not any error messages to share so hopefully someone else has seen this before and has a solution. I'm assuming it has to be an IE setting somewhere, but not sure where to start looking. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you for the quick response. It turns out this was something the users were doing. In 11.1.2.1 if a user does an export to Excel and when it asks do you want to save or open the file, if the user selects Open then a bunch of error messages popup and sometimes locks up the computer. We had instructed all of our users that they must first save the file, then open it and it should solve this issue for the time being. I had put a ticket into Oracle for this problem and they are still working on it. I will update again if/when they provide a more permanent solution.

I am exporting a FR report to excel as fully formatted option. But negative values are not exported to excel correctly. Excel shows as positive numbers.

I had this problem a while ago and i think it was related to how i had the numbers formatted. Try to format with brackets - this works for me.

Hyperion Financial Reporting - Export to Excel converting Data to Text

We are using Hyperion Financial Reporting 11.1.2.2 with Hyperion Workspace 11.1.2.2 reporting on an ASO Essbase cube version 11.1.2.2.
When we export a report to Excel any data values that are displayed in the report with a negative ('-', '()', etc.) sign come into Excel as a text value. The cell has the green flag and the single quote in it denoting this a text field. The format is listed as 'Custom'. Updating the format does not remove the single quote.
The same result is happening if we display the natural sign in the report or if we flip the sign in the report. This DOES NOT happen when choosing the export query ready, only when using the File -> Export -> Excel.
Does anyone know if there is a hot fix or service pack or configuration to resolve this? How about a work around?
I thought I remember this happening in 9.2 and being resolved in 9.3. We have recently upgraded from 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.2 and the issue is happening again.
The users would like to export the formatted report to Excel and be able to interact with the data cells as numbers.

The issue is reported as a bug. Installing patch 14625370 (11.1.2.2.302) and/or 16088101 (11.1.2.2.303) should fix the problem.

Hyperion FR Report Export to Excel Issue

Hi,
i am in 11.1.2.1 Hyperion planning . I have around 10 FR reports.
The issue i am having is when i exporting FR report to File ->Export->Excel then the
1.coulmn having Data in Date format is getting converted to some number.
where as if i am exporting in Query Ready mode or in PDF or Word then the format is absolutely fine as i am viewing in HTML view.
Do we need to change some setting in coulmn level to get the format corrent in Excel.

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel Query-Ready Missing

Hyperion Workspace Financial Reporting Export to Excel "Query-Ready" option is Missing in the dropdown when you go to File>Export>Excel
Only the "Fully Formatted" option is available.
From what I recall this option for a "query-ready" export should be available from the HTML preview?
Is there something in configuration that needs to be enabled or something that needs to be checked on to get this option?
We are running 11.1.1.3
The Query-Ready option is available when exporting forms in Planning.
When opening Financial Reports in Smartview the option for "Query-Ready" is available.
For some reason this is not showing up in workspace, does it not exist in 11.1.1.3? Is this a bug?

The option to export the financial report output in "Query-Ready" format is actually at the bottom right hand corner of the report page (look at the report footer) instead of File>Export>Excel.

Financial Reporting exporting to Excel - Column Width Issue

Hello Experts,
We are having an Hyperion Financial reporting issue from long time. I spent so much time and still I couldn't able to make it work.
I would like to take help you guys.
Issue: In Hyperion Financial Reporting, if I change the columnA size 10 to 20 and saved the report.
In work space, I have refreshed the report ( I do the latest timestamp), run the report and exported into excel. The Coloumn size is not changing. I have tried in many ways, Still it's not working for me.
Could any one try and let me know whether it's working for you or not. and please advice me how to make this work if this is working for you.

I am not sure if you can extract the formatting to Excel... I had also issues.
Can you please try to retrieve the report into Excel via Smartview? Check page 136 of http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40248_01/epm.1112/smart_view_user.pdf

Web report Export to Excel Issue

Hi,
I've tried to look at one of the issues already logged about the Export to Excel functionality and I was not able to find a solution to my problem.
In my organization we are using BW 3.5. And when I run a web report, and try to export to excel a 15000 line report, I'm always getting only the first 400 or 500 rows. If I go to the last line and try to do the same, I will then get the full report exported to excel.
Any idea why this is happening?

Try to run the report using the 0ANALYZER template and see whether you can replicate the issue. If the behavior is same with 0ANALYZER then it will be a issue with SAP code.

Webi Report exported to excel issues

Hello all.
I have a webi report which when I export to excel gets intended to the right. That is at the top it looks right but as I scroll down it keeps moving to the right and at the end of the page all the data is completely moved to the right and is not visible.
What could be the issue?How do I solve this?

yes the columns get shifted to the right as seen in the screenshot. So as I keep scrolling down the report shifts to the right and disappears as we keep scrolling.

Workspace Financial Report - Export to Excel in Fully Formatted Grid

Hi all,
Can anyone answer why in one of my clients PC, when they export FR reports from workspace to excel, it directly opens it in Workspace. There were no prompts for saving.
How can I restore the prompts?
What caused the prompts for save to disappear?

I am not sure what OS the client is working on but an example for XP
Open Control Panel
Open Folder Options
Click File Types
Locate "XLS Microsoft Excel Worksheet"
Click the Advanced button.
Highlight the default action (often Open), which is bold.
Check the box that says "Confirm open after download" and if "Browse in the same window" is checked, uncheck it.
Click Ok.
This would stop excel being open in the browser and a download prompt would appear.

Report export to excel issue

Hello,
One user is not able to export S_ALR_87013326 - Profit Center Report , from the path below.
REPOT >> EXPORT. The "export" is inactive for use for this user only.Please advise what is missing for the user. There is no issue in gui level or PC ms office set up. I tried in my PC with my user id its working fine. I tried with that user id in my PC it is not working.

Hyperion Financial Reports books issue

I am trying to generate books using Hyperion Financial reporting in Excel. But, I do see only PDF or HTML options to create books. Is there any other way we can create HFR book in excel with separate tabs for dimenions members in the Page drop down? Please advise.

There isn't an option to create Hyperion Books in Excel, however you can create a Smart View report in Excel and use the cascade feature, which prompts the user to create the dimension to use (it must be in the POV).
This will create a tab per member selected for the report, it will even duplicate charts if you have created them in the base Excel report.

Hyperion Financial Reporting Configuration Issue

Hi,
I installed Hyperion Financial Reporting version 11.1.1.1.0 where the Hyperion Web Analysis and Workspace installed in the same server.
I am able to open the Financial Reporting Studio but not able to open HFR through Workspace.
Let me explain you what I did exactly:
1) Installed Reporting and Analysis( HFR)
2) Ran the COnfiguration Utility and configured the Reporting And Analysis Server
3) Checked in Preference to see if Reporting And Analysis is present in the left side, I could see Web Analysis and can create Reports in it.
Then tried to access HFR through Workspace but not working. I updated Context.properties and set reports to Y and then recycled the services but still no luck..
Please correct me if I missed anything to configure the HFR.

This issue was resolved after stopping the Workspace services and ran the Configuration Utility. Now, able to view financial reporting and web analysis reports in workspace...

Hyperion financial reports issue

I have problem but with Months and years in Hyperion Financial Reports.
if i run the reports for JAN 2007 it has to show for previous 12 months
in my case the year is not changing to 2006 for DEC i'm using Relative member -1 function
can please let me know how to slove this issue .Ts is very urgent.

try to do it in 2 columns ( let say you have selected 'Jul' and '2007'
First column
2006 - x to Dec
2007 - Jan to y
where x = prev month
y= current month
there may be problem while selecting Dec 2007 cot in that case you will have to show only 2007 months. i think that you can do based on some conditional suppression

Hyperion Financial Reporting - #missing Suppression causing report not to generate 11.1.2.2

Hi,
We recently went live with an implementation of 11.1.2.2 and have build large report suite in Financial reporting to accompany the release. Over the weekend we patched up to 11.1.2.2.305.4195 however we have began to notice our FR reports are failing to generate and hang at a white screen for both HTML and PDF views.
After a little digging it looks that the issue is with any report that has suppress #missing on rows. If I take this suppression off the report will generate successfully. This is not an acceptable solution for us as many of our reports will run into 100's/1000's of lines.
Has anyone else experienced this recently and if so, are there any other fixes to be suggested. I'm assuming this is a bug introduced with 11.1.2.2.305
For reference we are also running the following versions.
Reporting and Analysis Framework - 11.1.2.2.000.998
Oracle® Hyperion Financial Reporting, Fusion Edition - 11.1.2.2.0.0387

Hi, We have but awaiting a response. Interestingly I've did some testing and suppression does work if I go via the advanced suppression option which although a inconvenient to rework the reports does give a solution.
Additionally I've noticed a couple of other issues with suppression across the application so looks to be more widespread.
1) Webforms are no longer suppression #missing both in the application and also when downloaded to Excel.
2) Intercompany reports no longer suppress when we set tolerance to say 10% etc.
Each in itself can be worked around but annoying non the less.

How to get XML format output from Hyperion Financial Reporting

Dears,
We are using Hyperion Financial Reporting to replace FSG in fusion. I found that Hyperion FR report can be exported to html/excel/pdf format. However, I would like the report to export to xml format.It means I only need the xml data source.
Anyone who knows how to get the xml format output from Hyperion FR, is there any avaiable API?

I think if you export the report, you will be able to open the .des file in Notepad/Wordpad and see xml content.
