Hyperion HSF Batches/Maps issue and connectivity error

Hello,
We recently migrated from 933 to 11.1.2.1 During our integration of Batches in HSF, when we try to connect to Essbase, we get a strange error:
Local////Error(1051293)
Login fails due to invalid login credentials
Test: HSF13617: Cannot establish database connection with 慃瑮牯獨瑦31/午彆剐䑏
When we try to use maps with Essbase, we don't get any error.
Has anyone experienced this before ?

Hi,
It is a bug in 11.1.2.1 version code for HSF. Oracle Development now knows it. I had a long chat / demo with them. They way they have HSF connect to Planning and the way the Batch are executed is different code.
They are looking at fixing this.

Installation and Connection Error with Desktop Manager and Curve 3G

I just installed Desktop Manager 6.01 and then tried connecting my Curve 3G to the system using the accompanying USB cable.. But there was a connection error.. so i did a bit searching on the net and went to (http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB00125) which gave me a solution to install m\y driver.. But when i try to manually install my driver, it shows an error "THE SERVICE CANNOT BE STARTED, EITHER BECAUSE IT IS DISABLED OR IT HAS NO ENABLED DEVICES ASSOCIATED WITH IT" now the USB is working because my phone is being recognised by the laptop and moreover in the device manager od my Vista, Blackberry is being shown... I cn see in drivers that Drivers have been installed but the drive Information such as Version, date is not available and the driver is unsigned...
Can someone tell me what exactly might the problem?? any reply will be appreciated..

I encountered the same issue, Not sure if you'll have the same results, but all i did was enable windows updates, and did an automatic driver update from the web (as in from windows updates) and after a reboot, all was back to normal.

Intermittent speed issues and high errors after ma...

I had BT broadband installed 3rd August and was only getting 3.5 - 4.5 mbps (stable and consistent) despite having been quoted 6 to 14 mbps when I ordered.
After the standard call center checks BT eventually agreed to send out an engineer (4 days ago) who replaced the master socket with a new style one and the speed reported by my HH3 went from 4.5 to 8.5mbps... all looked good however since then the actual download speed has varied from 1.5 to 8.5 mbps and the error counts seem very high.
Latency has also switched from interleaved to fast and now back to interleave.
Any advice on how to get this stable would be much appreciated - thanks in advance!

Hidden and Old IOXperts Driver Caused Software and Connection Errors

I had a USB webcam previously installed for a while and had installed IOXperts drivers.
Then I got an iSight, which worked fine for a while with iChat and Yahoo Messenger.
But when I tried to record digital video with my iSight and Broadcaster or iMovie I got "no camera connected errors".
Then they carried across to iChat where I got errors called "camera in use by another application".
Finally my iSight cam wouldn't work at all.
Anyway I suspected something was eating my iSight connection so I checked out the processes and that's where I saw the IOXperts driver running.
So I did a search and removed every file with the name IOXperts in it.
Then I rebooted and the camera and software worked the way it's supposed to.
I just wanted to drop this into the milieu.
By the way - would anyone happen to have an extra magnetic cinema display mount they're not using?

Ipod function jumping and connection errors

I have an iphone 4, when i was running the old software in it i never had an issue with ipod jumping, now with IOS4.2 in it its like theres a scratched CD playing and it jumps all the time, i havent changed anything and its only when docked, if i play via bluetooth its fine
Other problem i have is when i connect to an iphone ready stereo it comes up fine sometimes but others it comes up saying its not optimized for iphone version, sometimes it comes up and plays with no sound others its just not working and i have to reset
im loosing faith in it now, all my music is on it and i listen to it every day, im trmpted to go back to the 3gs and loose all the other problems with this phone too

I had the same problem after updating ITunes and the IPhone software to v.3.1.3. My IPod got frozen during the update and, after attempting to restore, I got the following message:
The IPod Touch "Ipod Touch" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1604)
I checked Apple's support page that the More info button links to, and for this particular error code it explains:
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, try these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Connect iPhone to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
2. Restore and wait for error 1604.
3. When prompted click OK.
4. Close and re-open iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
5. iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
6. Try to restore again.
I tried the above steps (after re-connecting the ipod to my PC several times with no significant result) and it worked! All the original content was synced back to my ipod, so it's all good!

10.5 iCal Server User having invite issues and 403 errors.

I have a 10.5 iCal server running. One user has constant problems. I've made a new account and the issue persists. A lot of 403 errors. People can't always invite him. He can't always invite others. Most invitees show up with "!" by their names. The log is showing that his folder in the CalendarServer can't be found (though sometimes it is) and that he is not enabled in the Calendar SACL, though the main group he belongs to is enabled.
Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

ORACLE 8i INSTALLER WITH P4 ISSUES AND TNS ERROR WITH 9i

I want to thank those that have been of help on this subject matter. Finally after 2 agonised weeks, I was able to get around the Oracle 8i installer not able to run on my Pentium 4 laptop. Also having problem logging in to 9i SQL*PLUS. I just want to reinstate that by renaming the file symcjit.dll to symcjit.old does not work automatically. I tried it on Oracle 8.1.6 and 8.1.7(Enterprise/Standard/Personal) many times. Although it did work with Oracle Personal 8.1.6 at one point in time after the system has already 9i installed. After uninstalling the 9i, the installer stopped working again. I WAS NOT SURE IF ORACLE HAS THIS ORACLE 9i DATABASE ENTERPRISE/STANDARD/PERSONAL FOR WINDOWS NT/2000/XP ON CD. THE ONE I BOUGHT IS THE 9IAS AND 9IDS (2 Boxes) WHICH WILL NOT CONFIGURE YOUR DATABASE FOR YOU.
When I was about to give up after doing some more research, then I saw the download for "Oracle9i Database Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP". I followed the exact direction, but did everything in my directory and not DOS since I don't know the command for unzipping files in DOS. By unzipping all the files in their respective folders Disk1/Disk2/Disk3, and going to install/win32/setup.exe, the rest of the installation went smoothly, when the system prompt for the location of the next disk, just type 2 and then 3. The installation configured everything like tnsnmaes, instances, databases e.t.c. All I did was suppied the password for Sys and System.
By downloading this particular file, I was able to bypass any configuration which is a pain, but not for you DBA guys out there. THE DOCUMENTATION FOR THESE CD,s DID NOT GIVE EXACT STEP BY STEP FOR CONFIGURATION, ONLY INSTALLATION. I AM A DEVELOPER AND NOT A DBA. Orale 8i is more easy to confugure than 9i. I WAS ALSO ABLE TO INSTALL 6i, 9ids AND SQL NAVIGATOR ON TOP OF THIS 9i, AND ALL CONNECTIONS WORKED PERFECTLY BY USING SYS OR SYSTEM AND THE PASSWORD I SUPPLIED DURING INSTALLATION.
AGAIN THANKS TO EVERYBODY USING THIS FORUM. YOU GUYS ARE GREAT AND DOING A GOOD JOB HELPING OUT OTHERS. LET'S KEEP IT ROLLING!!!

O yea, I used WinZip 8.1 and it created correct directory stucture - that's the whole problem

Unable to use recently downloaded fonts, CC sync issue and connection problems.

Today was especially interesting.
CC would say it could not connect and to retry connection, when I clicked retry connection is would fail, over, and over - I waited 15+ minutes for it to finally connect only to tell me "Coming Soon: CC will deliver fonts from Typekit to your desktop"? https://www.dropbox.com/s/5yci79zv3opmx12/CCForgotFonts.jpg < WHAT!? So now I had to search the Adobe forum to figure out why... More wasted time.
Solution: LOGOUT from CC pref and log back in, then click the resync button tucked down at the bottom corner... No Auto-sync? No notification that my syncing was not enabled; Really?
Shouldn't it be a little more intellegent, maybe remember that I just downloaded these fonts and to perhaps give me 30 days before asking me to login to verify If I still had an active CC account in order to use the fonts? This is starting to wear thin.
Everyday I have to make sure I login to CC because if I don't I may not have a function or font. Then there is the licensing I have to accept each time because I logged out; each time!
(I have deleted folders and reinstalled CC to 'fix' this, only to have it stop working after a day or two, even on a local administrator account and domain admin account)
I'm just thankful I do not travel anymore because I couldn't with CC. I would have to install CS6 in order not to worry, that should say something about this new Adobe model.

MBE issues and rendering errors

Just finished two seperate projects each 25 minutes. They both used Magic Bullets vignette and various filters. The first rendered out and export through compressor no problem. The second would get a funyy AE parameter error when trying to render and than compressor would have an error 0.
I would assume it was a faulty clip some where in the mix? I had to go in and render some chunks of clips at time. If I did the whle timeline it would eventually have an error.
Any input would be great.

When you tried doing chunks of clips at a time, was it successful?
How are you going to Compressor? (there are two routes)
Do you get the error the second it starts, or or somewhere halfway or the end of render?
Duplicate the sequence, remove all attributtes on the 1st half of sequence. Render that out. If that doesn't work, Undo the "remove attributes and then remove attributes on the 2nd half of sequence. Try rendering that. Maybe a filter is messing you up.

Hyperion Reports Batch Email Issue

Hi All,
I am having trouble getting Hyperion Reports (v11) to send emails after running a batch. We have gotten it to work with Taskflows in the Hyperion Workspace but not in Hyperion Reports.
Does Reports use the same email address as Taskflows? [email protected]?

I figured this out. It was something on our mail server that needed to be set up. The emails come from the user who sets up the batch.

Application Manager issues and repeated error messages on use of more than two licenses

HI,
MY first post and my adobe Mnaager won't update as it keep saying:
"Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure. The Product you are trying to install is not an adobe genuine software and appears counterfeit"
This is a load of rubbish as I have installed everything onto my Laptop and Desktop direct from Adobe. ITs been working fine after an horrifc installation experince when I first signed up when its was clearly launched too early.
I also keep getting flashes of warning saying that I have more than two instances installed which again is a load of rubbish as I only own two machines. Is there anyway of checking and making sure which PC's are signed up incase its been hacked?
Hoping theres some solutions other than going through Adobes Phone lines which never get answered and spent 4 hours trying last Friday to get through with no luck.
PLEASE do not suggest a re-installation and clean install as I have done this four times aleady since joining the cloud and is not acceptable as trying to run a buisness.

Invalid Location for operator while batch mapping

Hi,
I am using 10.2g version of OWB and while deploying the batch mapping, I am getting errors like:
"VLD-1134: Invalid location for operator DATE_REF_SEQ_0.
Configured location for operator does not exist or is not a valid location under the referenced module."
The "DATE_REF" is one of the tables in the database. Similarly, I am getting error for many of these operators while i try to deploy the batch mapping. Could you please help us on how can we change the location of these operators in the design center/control center?

Hi ,
VLD-1134 error comes when the location in configuration properties is not set or pointing to a different location.
This generally happens when you migrate OWB code from 1 server to another or from 1 version to another.
Goto your OWB 10.2 Designer .
Towards right side you will find Connection Explorer
Create new location pointing to your database ( If location is already available then note down the name )
Now on your Source module set the metadata location and data location . You can do this by double clicking onto the module name .
Do the same for your Target module .
You need to set the location for Streams Administrator and Location from module Configuration .

RDP KB2592687 & KB2574819 TS Connection Error

Having issues with two kb updates affecting remote desktop connection (RDP) to a terminal server (TS) farm.
Have found that RDP file version 6.3.9 which is updated through Microsofts Automatic Updates KB2592687 and KB2574819 will only connect to the connection broker. However if the user is being pushed by the connection broker to another TS server due to load
balancing they get "Unable to establish connection" error.
The 3 servers in the farm are VM's running windows server 2008 R2 with load balancing.
If we uninstall the above mentioned KB updates bringing the RDP file version back down to 6.1.9 we don't seem to face any issues and connection is made immediately.
This however is not an option for all of our sites using RDP as we don't have admin access in order to remove and stop the above mention kb's from being re-installed.

Are you using Windows 7 as your client OS? Have you have installed the KB on your client system?
After installing on client system you need to enable the GPO setting on client system and also allow port traffic. Please check below article for information.

In addition, this issue may occur because in the Inbound Rules of
Windows Firewall with Advanced Security, the rule Remote Desktop – RemoteFX (TCP-In) is not enabled on the client.
- To enable this rule, click Start, and then type Windows Firewall with Advance Security.
- Open Windows Firewall with Advanced Security and enable the rule Remote Desktop – RemoteFX (TCP-In).
- Enabling this rule should fix the RDP connectivity issue.
