I have a macbook pro 10.8.5 and the Application Safari will not open no matter what i do, I try to open the menu of Safari but it won't let me either, the mouse will just be loading. I managed to search Consule from the spotlight and pull up the crash logs... I had to Select, Copy, and Paste extremely quick, as the crash is in a continuous loop cycle and keeps filling the logs and deleting the old ones.

It is used to be that I could right click on the Firefox icon on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen and I would then be given the option to open all windows. Now I only see the option to close all windows. The ability to open all windows is very useful. Have you eliminated this capability? It was a very helpful feature because I often have more than 15 windows minimized at one time. On a regular basis I like to open them all and keep only the ones that I still need. I know that it is possible to see the name of each window that is minimized by moving my cursor over the Firefox icon, but this does not provide enough information. So I have to open each window one at a time to look at it and then decide to close it or keep it - this is a frustrating, time-consuming process. Is there another way to open all the minimized windows at the same time, instead of one at a time?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I am having the same problem! I tried moving it to the Trash and this gave me a message "Would you like to cancel the update?" I clicked Cancel but when moved back out of the trash it automatically returned to its previous state, stuck on update. I tried the same but clicked "Continue Upload" to see if it would trigger it to re-start, but that did not work. I also tried Delete App. Each time it just reverted where it was when I took it out of the Trash. It has been a week and stuck in the same place. I am connected to the internet. The App Store says there are no new updates, but when I search iMovie it says it is 'updating'.
Any other ideas?

what version of iPhoto do you have? Is OS X 10.7.5 the correct version of the OS?
A general answer is to backup your iPhoto library, depress the option and command keys, launch iphoto and rebuild the database

I can't open Lightroom (5.7.1) files in Photoshop CC 2014. When I Right Click and select Edit In Photoshop CC 2014 nothing happens. I have uninstalled CC 2014 and Lightroom but no change.
What happens if you start up PS CC 2014, first, and then try the Edit In?

Can't Open 3rd party Apps with my User (Icon Bouncing then Application Not Responding)

Problem:
I can't Open 3rd Part Apps with my user (FireFox, Chrome, Dropbox, GoogleDrive, Mega, Final Cut Pro X, etc) they just star bouncing and after a while they stop bouncing then i righ click on them and it says "Application Not Responding", but i can open native apps like Safari, iTunes, iMovie, Finder, Settings
Other Events:
-Just Before this happend i was editting a video on FCPX, y export it and tried to upload to Google Drive (in Chrome), when it was uploading I closed FCPX and the uploading stop it at 91%, y tried to reupload but then I realized that this video was in a temp folder and it wasnt there anymore, so I open FCPX to export it again and i couldnt, it was just bouncing and then "App not responding".
-After Installing Yosemite i feelt it slow even after it finished the encriptation File Vault, specially in chrome.
I have tried:
1-Repair Disk Permisions
2-Reset SMC
3-Reinstall FCPX
4-Decrypted the Disk and create another user and i was able to run Chrome, FireFox and FCPX, When I opened FCPX it started but when it was trying to open the project that i was working , it restarted the app and i couldnt open FCPX again, just bouncing and App Not Responding
Any suggestions to keep my User working?

You can also clone your system using the shareware app SuperDuper or the donation-ware app CarbonCopyCloner

Both of these apps will make a true clone (literally, a bit-by-bit copy) of your hard drive onto an external drive. This clone will actually be bootable itself (you plug in the drive and hold the option key during startup then select the clone to boot from). You would boot from the clone, then reverse-clone it back onto your internal hard drive.
If you are really serious about being highly confident of not loosing files, you could use both - I keep a TM backup on one drive, and 2 clones on separate bus-powered hard drives.
P.S. even if you had not had any issues, you really, REALLY should be keeping regular, up to date backups anyway - things go flooey without warning sometimes and you risk loosing everything on your machine if you DON'T keep regular backup copies available. -
Help please-"Application Not Responding" for Safari and Mail
I read in one discussion that if Safari is slow, you can go to Font Book and select the fonts with a bullet to get rid of duplicate fonts. I did that, and then decided to disable some japanese fonts I don't use.
Now Safari and Mail don't work. Mail won't open at all, and Safari launches but doesn't load and I get the spinning wheel.
I used Disk Utility to fix permissions, and that didn't solve the problem, and now my Disk Utility also says "Application Not Responding".
I also went back to Font Book and enabled all the fonts I disabled. Still nothing.
( I can use Netscape-so it's only Mac applications I guess)
Any help is very much appreciated.

Wow- i fixed it! I remembered that when I was in Font Book originally, there were some fonts disabled, and I enabled them.
I couldn't remember EXACTLY which ones, but I disabled some I thought were the ones, and VOILA!
Mail works, Safari works...what a relief!
And it only took me HOURS...oh well.

Mac is running SUPER Slow, applications not responding when i open them, Beachballs everywhere
Whenever i open an application (Take Google chrome for an example) it bounces like 20+ times, then on activity monitor it says "Application Not Responding". Whenever i type too fast on spotlight or finder, my whole desktop freezes, im suspecting this can be maybe HDD failure, i have repaired my MacintoshHD probably 3 times this past week. I have 150GB free out of a 250GB hdd, and i have 4 GB RAM. PLEASE HELP! Im currently enrolled in college and this is vital and needs to be fixed ASAP.

In Snow Leoppard I used the return key all the time in finder and Path finder when quickly navigating files. There was the choice of the 2 return keys, one opens the file and the other goes into edit the filename. Now in Lion both keys do the same thing and I miss it badly. It means you have to go to the mouse which (reletively speaking) takes ages.
Is there a work arround or fix?This is a standard setting to change to this to allow users to access the emotions option, this has been like this for some while because the text messages app only allows a number of letters and to add a line break will cause issue with the letter count... At this time there isnt any way to modify it other than use a 3rd party keyboard but a number of them does this as well.
Another option that may work is open a email and type the message the way you want it to layout and then copy all text and paste in the text message window, it may keep the original format of the text but I havent tried it myself.
UPDATE: Just tried it and you can copy and paste from email and text will keep format... -

Why do my margins get cut off when I right click print, but not when I open my document and print?
When I right click print (without opening the document) my margins get cut off, but if I actally open my pdf document and click print, it will print just fine. This only happens when the document has print that is close to the edge.
I am using Adobe 10.1.2 with Windows 7.

Yes the eMac is in fact my first, personally owned, Mac computer other than the original Apple II series floppy fed PC, in which me and my father owned. The only other Apple/Macintosh computer I had experience on was my father's 13" MacBook Pro, and 20" iMac (both ran OSX Tiger 10.4.11, just as the one I have know runs). The iMac was upgraded to Snow Leopard due to our need for better picture/video/audio editing software such as that of Adobe, and the Macbook Pro was sold because of a business that was started being siphoned out of money. I purchased the eMac from a small business based off of eBay. It had the majority of OSX Tiger software, only missing minor programs like Photobooth. Other than that, it had no wireless software like BlueTooth, Wi-Fi capabilities, wireless sync, ect... But alas, when you buy a Apple/Mac computer, you must take a few cutbacks when purchasing it (even refurb.) for around $120.00 including taxing, shipping, handling, ect... I purchased nearly all of my software from co-workers and friends who had an extra key, or I would receive the software disc from them, and buy a key. The only "illegal" thing I had on the computer was music I had downloaded from LimeWire. I have never, and will never, trust any software coming from a torrent download site.

Restart the machine in Safe Mode and attempt to open each app. Also please explain exactly how you are attempting to open the apps. For example, "When I click the Safari icon on the Dock it bounces but does not open." To start in Safe Mode hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup tone unitl a progress bar appears.

I've been having problems with Firefox hanging (seems related to Flash on a particular website). Through hours of troubleshooting yesterday, including on the phone with my ISP's help desk, it was recommended I "refresh" Firefox. I've done that before, and I did it yesterday again. This morning I opened Firefox to my home page (my ISP's portal), checked my email, logged out of email, closed that tab, opened two other forums and Photobucket--three tabs open in the window--to post photos and contribute to discussions in both forums. When done, I logged out of both forums and Photobucket, closed each tab separately, then quit Firefox. (While in Photobucket, Flash crashed several times....but that's not unusual with Photobucket in my experience. It's a different problem I am still dealing with....but forget it right now....) As part of yesterday's "refresh", I set Firefox to empty the cache and cookies and other files upon quitting.
Later in the day today, I opened Firefox, my ISP's portal opened as usual and expected (my "Home page"). Sometimes, rather than close that window/tab, I just open a bookmark and it opens in that same window, but replacing the previous window and its contents. That is normal operating procedure for me. You know, rather than having two windows open where I'll have to close the first one, I just have the bookmark open in place of the original window/contents.
Today (and it's happened before today, but only infrequently), the bookmarked page opened as if it was a frame in the active window....that is, my ISP's portal occupies about 3/4 of the window, but over on the left side of the window (not another tab or window, but in the very same window) is a slender partial view of the bookmarked page. This new web page--totally unrelated to the original page--has a scroll bar at the bottom, but can't be made to fill the window....the previously opened web page acts as a barrier to seeing the "new" frame/web page. While I can grab the right border of this "new frame" and drag it to the right, it still can't push the "old" original web page out of the way....the old page reaches some minimum limit and I get a split screen view of two entirely different web sites contained in exactly the same active window.
The "new" frame has an "x" in the upper right corner, so I could close it.....but my question is, why did it open in a completely different company's web page/window....how can two web pages from completely different organizations/companies/websites occupy the same active window in Firefox? I have screenshots.....attached. And, oh yes, besides the HOW and WHY of it, how can it be prevented (or is the best thing to just right click and open it in a new tab or window.....??????) That still doesn't satisfy me....I'm someone who needs to know WHY something happened that should not have happened. It makes me crazy when something strange happens and the "solution" is to change MY behavior. (You know, like if YOU were the problem, but I have to change MY behavior instead of fix what's wrong with YOU.....when fixing YOU might render the entire situation obsolete.)
Thanks for whatever you can suss out.....You do not have the properties in the Bookmarks Manager (Library), but you should have it if you right-click a bookmark the Bookmarks Toolbar or in the bookmarks sidebar.
On Mac you probably do not have it if you right-click an item in the Bookmarks menu (this menu is under control of the Mac OS), but I assume that this should work if you click the "Show your bookmarks" button on the Navigation Toolbar that is next to the star to bookmark the current tab and right-click an item in the bookmarks list that opens.
