    Can someone please help me?  I have spent 3 days trying to increase my speed on the internet.  I have Verizon DSL with a Verizon Model 7500 Modem/router/wireless. 
    I have taken numerous tests (dslreports.com) which show 100 Kb/s download and 378 Kb/s Upload.  The last test said I really needed help - I was receiving 1% of what everyone else receives.  I am signed up for 678-1MB service which worked fine until Saturday morning.
    I have removed McAfee, I have Windows 7 and I have not added, changed or done anything that would make this drastic change in my DSL service.
    Someone at Broadband recommended I use Verizon Direct Forum but Verizon's support is so poor, I don't even know if I am in the right forum.  I did attempt a chat with someone in India but he promised me a phone call back and I am still waiting.
    Can someone help me here?  I do not believe that it is on my end.  I did go to Speedguide.net and used their TCP Optimizer.  It did not make a big difference.
    The Verizon speed test is giving my numbers like .089 Mbps Download and .384 Mbps Upload. 
    One site talked about 10% loss latency 58.6 ms and another talked about packet loss.
    I am without a clue what it all means.

    Try rebooting your DSL modem and wireless router.  Unplug it and then phone line going into it for about 1 minute and then restart it.
    If that doesn't work it would be helpful to know whether you are you using a wired or wireless connection?
    If you are using wireless try right clicking on the wireless icon in your system tray and then click "repair".
    Do you have a 'secure' wireless connection.  If you do not it is possible that others are connecting to your wireless network, especially if you live in an apartment or townhouse.
    Post back if any of these worked.

  • I am trying to add photo's to my contacts on Icloud but keeping getting 'server error' when I try to upload them - anyone got any ideas?

    I have resized my photo's yet when I try to upload them on the the person's contact details it says 'server error cannot upload photo at this time'.

    I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

  • I'm using my airport express so I can control stereo via iPhone/iPad. It's linked to my router wirelessly (via "join network" setting). It works fine for a while, but then airplay ability / icon always disappears.

    My airport express is brand new and has latest software.
    My router is an Engenius 300N, and is 6 months old.
    iPhone is a 5S and has latest software.
    I've tried restarting router, resetting Airport, and spoken with apple support.
    The only thing that works is turning power to Airport off and on, but this only works for 5 minutes then disappears again.

    Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    *Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

    Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
    (Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
    If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
    Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
    If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

    I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

    Sorry, I updated another thread I was a part of but didn't update my own thread.....ughhh!
    I updated all of my ATV 2's and 3's to the latest firmware when it was released and have been problem free since. I do believe the major issue of not being able to connect after a period of inactivity has been corrected with the latest ATV firmware.
    I can look at my network connection table using "netstat -an" in a CMD window and I do not see the massive number of connections I saw before the update.

    OK, but in my ipad, the apple id i have in itues is already the one  iwant to have, but th one i used to sin in for i-coud is the other one.   • TS1741 Does anyone have trouble with the Remote app losing contact with the iTunes library after it has been connected and working fine for a while. If I go to the computer and turn off sharing, then turn it back on, it will relocate the library again.

    My iTunes remote app on my ipad mini will work fine for a while and then it will lose the library. I then have to turn off sharing on the computer and then turn it back on. This will work for a while and then I will have to repeat the process. Help!

    I have just found the problem to be windows firewall on my library PC
    I can only presume there has been an update to windows firewall or iTunes
    all the relevant programs were on the allowed list
    I'm now currently running with firewall turned off on my library PC.
    I'll update when i have found the rogue setting.

    From where are you downloading these Premiere Elements 9 installation files....Adobe direct or from another web site?
    Please start again. If you did not already, turn off the antivirus and firewall(s) before starting with File 1 and then File 2.
    File 1 should be the Adobe Application Manager or its counterpart (.exe file), and File 2 should be the program (.7z file).
    If you have not tried it already, consider the following link from which to obtain your installation files for 9.

    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
    The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
    Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
