i keep the itunes encountered a problem and needs to shut down . it was working fine until after i updated to 10.5 can someone plz help

I did get a "server busy" message when I loaded quicktime, but I'm not sure if it is related or not since I've been seeing that over the last couple of days, I can't remember if it came before iTunes stopped working or not. That message reads "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'switch to' to activate the busy program and correct the problem." My options then are to choose switch to or retry. When I press "switch to" my Start menu opens, and nothing appears to happen when I select retry.
that's an odd sort of a message (or series of messages).
hmmmmm. let's try an experiment aimed at working out if there's a program interfering with the QuickTime (which is in turn causing grief with your iTunes).
try a selective startup using MSCONFIG, with just the itunes and QuickTime background processes enabled, as per the following document:
Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows
does QT open without the strange message after the selective startup?
    does iTunes launch properly?

  • I am trying to access Organizer in Premiere Elements and it just shuts down the programme

I am trying to access Organizer in Premiere Elements and it just shuts down the programme.  I tried reinstalling the programme but it just does not let me get to Organizer.  Now after reinstalling, it does not let me into the programme.  It just keeps on asking me to sign in.  Once I sign in, it just goes blank.  I checked my registration online and it is already there.  What do I do apart from tearing my hair?

  • My entire CS6 says it Incountered a problem and needs to shut down. Nothing works.

I have bought CS 6 a year ago, the CD, and have never had any success with it. It crashes my computer and now nothing opens up.

    Thanks Ned,
I have Windows XP Version 2002, service pack 3
    AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual
    Core Processor 4400+
2.31 GHz, 2.75 GB of RAM
I bought a licensed version of CS6 about a year ago. I do have older Adobe programs like Illustrator 9, Pagemaker 6.5, Photoshop 7 etc. previously installed on my computer and still use.
Since I have installed the CS 6, the programs would crash my computer and seemed very unstable. So I kinda gave up on it for the last 10 months or so and just didn't use CS 6. Now I have a friend of mine thats doing a newspaper and wants me to look at it since I have been a press operator in printing for 30 years.
So recently I tried to use my Adobe App Manager and it says the program encountered a program needs to close.
I went to the adobe website and reset my ID and password thinking maybe it needs to be updated since I haven't used CS 6 for a while. Then did a bunch of updates from the site.
I do have Idesign open now and it hasn't crashed but the Application manager is still wont load.
I don't know what to do, CS 6 gives me grief everytime I use it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try resetting your iPad.  Press and hold sleep button until slider shows up on screen.  Shut down then start it up again.

After a few days of successful editing, I am now constantly encountering this error message: "a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down."

    Please help!

  • I cannot "download all" from the cloud ... it says that itunes has encountered an error and needs to shut down. I can download one song at a time. It is not being caused by any one song.

I have the latest version of iTunes. When I am in the iTunes store and I click on purchased it will show me a list of all my purchased songs. Some of the older songs are already in my iTunes account. There is a cloud symbol by any songs that have not been download to my account. It always fails if I try to do a "download all" (at the bottom of the page) but I seem to be able to download one song at a time. These are songs that were purchased on my iPhone but I wanted to put them in my iTunes account so that I could put them on my iPod. The problem does not appear to be associated to any one song.

I did think about that and if I have to I will do that, however there are about 50 songs. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times and I am sure that I have the latest version. It fails right away but I can click on the cloud download icon and download the song that it failed on ... therefore it is not that song "or any one song" causing the issue. Any ideas?

  • Since the iTunes update to 10.6 everytime I open iTunes there is an error message that says that iTunes has encountered an error and needs to shut down. Is there a way to fix this or go back to an older version of iTunes?

Ever since the update, when I load iTunes it encounters an error and force closes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything Apple twice and that hasn't fixed the issue. Is there a way to go back to an older version of iTunes?

Yes... several... All Adobe updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

Thank you for your help, I wish that was the answer but I don't have anything plugged into my computer. I thought maybe it was everytime I was on the internet, but that's not it either. When I installed the Lion software it took like three days to do so, bc for some reason it kept loosing it's connection for some reason. So I think it could possibly be that maybe? Can you go back to a certain day and restore from there? And if so, how do you do that and does that mean that I lose the Lion software I installed?

  • Iphoto has been importing photos for over an hour and i can't get it to stop. can't stop importing and can't shut down computer.

iphoto has been importing photos for over n hour and I can't get it to stop.  Can't get out of iphoto and can't shut down computer.

iPhoto works best when the source (Pictures folder) is on a different disk drive than the iPhoto Library is on.
And you need to have enough free disk space to work with, the faster the better.
Also, do not keep your media folders and those in your home folder on the same drive as the system, also another bottleneck.
Until or unless you have everything on 1400MB/sec SSD PCIe controller, you want
    System boot drive
Media and data folders and such
    scratch
    backup
    etc
I put iPhoto on an SSD off an SSD PCIe Sonnet Tempo card
If you stop- it, you will need to trash the Library it was creating.
Reading and writing to/from the same hard drive will be slow.
You don't mention which Mac, or how large you are trying to import etc
Also the support page and link to the iPhoto Commuinity is off this page:
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphoto
Take a look in Activity Monitor. See what the % being used for iPhoto, how many pageouts, how much free space on the various disk drives, and how much RAM do you have installed?

  • I have a Lacie External hdd and on usb 3. Now If I plug in the device it shows a message to connect to windows or mac (Parallels installed) so If I click on mac it works fine well and good but when I select connect to windows it shows a error.

I have a Lacie External hdd and on usb 3. Now If I plug in the device it shows a message to connect to windows or mac (Parallels installed) so If I click on mac it works fine well and good but when I select connect to windows it shows a error.
The error that pops up is:
The device "Lacie Rugged USB3-FW" was unable to connect to its ideal host controller.
Please anyone could suggest what the solution could be?
    Thanks.

But my 1 tb hdd is already formatted via ex fat which can work on both mac and Windows no limitation of file size also like if we use ntfs or fat it has a restriction of 4gb file size.

  • IPhoto error message saying it shut down unexpectedly.

I shut down iPhoto and when I try to reopen iPhoto I get an error message saying it shut down unexpectedly and now it will not open at all.
What can I do to restore/reopen iPhoto?

Backup your iPhoto library, depress and hold the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and use the resulting first aid window to rebuild your database
