I am getting double emails

after a delayed time, I am getting the same email again, it shows up right below the email that I previously received and goes back in time 15 days . It seems like it doesn't happen with every email, but a lot.

disable your email scanner in your anti virus program and complete a full download before enabling it again. This use t be a favorite trick of Nortons, but I assume they can all do it.

    Well, at this point, since you're using Snow Leopard and I'm using Mountain Lion, I should probably bow out. It does sound like a number of folks saw this kind of thing in Mail under Snow Leopard back in 2009, but I don't know whether that was a bug or just an accumulation of lots of different issues with the same symptoms all in one place.   • I can no longer get my email to open

    My email has stopped working on my IPAD. It has worked for months but stopped. I have deleted and re-entered my email address....I have syned again....still doesn't open email. Any help would be appreciated.

    From what you are saying - It is not clear as to whether the mail app will not open or if the app opens but you can't get your email. In any event, try the basic troubleshooting steps if you haven't tried them already.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Quit the mail app and restart the iPad. In order to quit or close apps - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button. The task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. If you are using multitasking gestures in iOS 5 - you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the task bar. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Turn the email account off and then turn it on again. Go to Settings>Mail>AOL Account>Mail>Off. Launch the mail app. Then quit the app as described above. No need to restart. Go back to Settings>Mail>AOL Account>Mail>On. Go back to your email account and see if it works.

    would anybody be able to help me? i get double messages in my account because I have 4 accounts...I have tried to delete two or three of my accounts so i just have my one account, but i can't seem to do...everytime i get an email I get two of the same email.

    I'm having a similar problem:
    I have 2 accounts and Mail keeps getting my messages multiple times. I can end up with 20 of the same email.
    I need to leave them on the server so I can also retrieve on my MacBook.
    I did have this working and don't know what's up. Is it a pref or a server problem?

    If your homescreens and other apps rotate ok then try closing the Mail app via the taskbar and see if it rotates when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't fix it then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    2. restarted computer
    3. deleted email accounts and set them back up
    I still have no luck - they wont stay online and I constantly have the spinning flower and the exclamation triangle.

    Sounds like you are losing your internet connection.
    From the Mail menu bar (top of your screen) click Window > Connection Doctor
    Following is from the Mac Mail Help viewer...
    Review the status information:
    Check your Internet connection status. A red status button indicates Mail can’t connect to the Internet. Click Network Diagnostics to help track down the problem and restore an Internet connection.
    Check your account status. A red status button (when you are connected to the Internet) indicates a problem with a mail server or your account setup. Follow the instructions in the Details column; double-click the text in the column to open the Accounts pane in Mail preferences.
    To see log information about server connection problems, click Show Detail to display a details pane. Then click Check Again to see the log as Mail tries to connect again.
    When you’re done, click Check Again to see if your changes resolved the problem.

    Some external Users are getting Duplicate Emails from our domain. I have Exchange 2013 and is properly configured. A user reported me that, I sent one email to the other domain's user, and it was delivered twice after 1 or 2 hours.  I checked the Message
    track log on exchange servers and email was resubmitted and sent from the edge server after 2 hours.
    I have no idea why this is happening? can you please help me on this issue.

    Maybe some hidden rules cause this, I suggest use MFCMapi tool to double check whether there is any hidden rules exist.

  • IPhone has double emails

    My iPhone has double emails, but the Mac, MobilMe, iPad all have single emails.
    This happened after installing Lion.
    What should I do to get rid of the double emails. And stop receiving duplicate emails in the future.

    what kind of email provider are you using? (gmail, yahoo, comcast) And check your mail settings to make sure mobile me didnt mess up and add your email twice.

  • Double emails on iOS7

    I found couple things on the web but no fix and wanted to reach out.
    I setup couple users with new iphones which have ios7.0.4 installed.  We are also conneted to exchange.  When they search they get double random emails.  Sounds like it is an issue but no fix yet.

    No worries about that happening.  You're not really deleting your iCloud account.  You are just "deleting" it on the iPad -- big difference.  I am one of the people who used this technique to make everything right.  It definitely works and you'll still have your 20 free GBs.

    Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with email on your iPad. 
    I recommend going to your email settings in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar on your iPad and to if you see your account is listed twice.  If you see it listed twice, tap on one of the listings to see the option to delete the account.

  • HT5312 I'm not getting the email to change my security questions

    So I tried to download an app on my new iPhone 5s, and it told me that i needed my finger print, password, and that I needed to answer 2 security questions. I choose these questions a few years ago, and I honestly forgot the answers to them. So, I went on the Manage Account thing and it said that they could e-mail me a link to change the questions. I hit this about amultiple number of times throughout the course of the day and nothing happened. I did not get any emails regarding to change my security questions. ofcourse, I did double check all of the information, and I went on both e-mail accounts that I have given to Apple. Has this problem ever occurred to anyone esle, and do you know how to fix it?

    The Bank and Paypal states that Adobe needs to process my transaction twice.
    I have no order number/ no status nor contact from Adobe. I called customer service and he transferred me to sales where the phone rang with no answer.

  • Why did I get an email from the fraud dept saying my order is on hold, told to call a number, and then told by dept it's not true?

    I placed an order to upgrade my phone yesterday, and the order went through, I was told the new phone would arrive Thursday. After I got home from work today I saw an email from Verizon that says "Dear Customer:
    Verizon Fraud Prevention Team is currently reviewing the following order on your wireless account. Please call the Verizon Fraud Prevention Team at 888-483-7200 option 3, press 1 to verify this Order."
    I called this number immediately, since I need this phone ASAP, assuming it would just be a recording and I would have to verify an account number or something. But instead, after following the instructions, I was put on hold because I needed to speak to someone in person. After several instances of my call being cut off after being on hold for at least half an hour, I finally got through after three hours and was able to speak to a fraud representative. I gave her my info and told her the problem and she told me I had called the wrong department. Instead of the fraud department, I needed the online order department. She transferred me, and I waited on hold again. When the representative from the online order dept picked up, she first told me if it was a fraud issue I'd need to speak with the fraud dept - who had JUST transferred me to her. After this, she said that my order is not on hold, because it hasn't even been processed yet or had the credit check done. When I asked if this meant I hadn't needed to call at all, she said yes. Is this actually true or is there a chance that there's an issue with my order I don't know about? If there is no issue, these emails really shouldn't be sent out, they're incredibly misleading, and I've wasted a whole lot of time and experienced an incredible amount of anxiety for no reason.

    Hi.  I checked on the order and it says the order is currently being processed and I should check back tomorrow. I'm mostly just concerned because I got an email saying the order was on hold, and I want to make sure it actually does go through and I'm not just waiting for a delivery that's not going to come. I'm still confused as to why I'd get an email saying I had to call the fraud department only to be told I shouldn't have called the fraud department.
