Safari is repeatedly crashing and web pages are not responding

So, my safari is constantly freezing (the spinning wheel of death shows up) and then I'm told that the web-pages are not responding and I need to force reload them all. And this can repeat a number of times; a full system re-start is the only fix.
Any fixes, solutions would be appreciated.
I'm using Safari 5.1.9; and Mac OS X 10.6.8

MIght be third party plugins causing Safari to freeze.
Try the troubleshooting help here > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
And see if you can do this before Safari freezes.
Launch Safari and immediately press Command , (comma) to open the Safari Preferences pane then select the Extentions tab.
If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If Safari doesn't freeze, uninstall one extension at a time, quit and relaunch Safari to test again.

We've upgraded to Release 12.0.5. Whenever we click on functions that open new web pages, the new web page opens in the minimized position.

I don't know if this is a "crash," but Firefox is freezing, "not responding," very often over the past few days. What's the deal? Also, I am getting pop-ups recently, usually a game, associated with Firefox, and don't want them. How do I stop them?

If i could insert an image here to show you what my screen looks like. It would be better. If I coppy what I get in Firefox here , it displays correctly. I am using G Chrome to write you. Text is overlapping in fonts the size of one third of the screen.

Why can't I carry on using my 2009 iPod Touch and 4 iPod Nano's. I don't wan't to buy any new versions. More and more apps are incompatible with my iPod Touch. I can't upgrade the sofware beyond v. 5. I certainly won't purchase any other Apple devices.

My advice to any customers: Don't buy new devices. Apple is not looking after customers properly. Not all of us can afford to purchase new devices.

Complain to the developers. The make the apps incomaptible with previour versions.

My safari has random pop ups and opens new ad tabs

Ever since a few days I have some issues with random advertisements, pop-ups and my safari even opens up new tabs, when I open up another tab. It's really annoying and I read that it could be a virus that's constantly changing, so 'old' solutions might not be applicable anymore, so that is why I am opening a new discussion. Also, I read about firstly making a back-up, does this need to be done with an external hard drive?

That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch.
