I am having problems installing Photoshop CS6

I am trying to download the Photoshop CS6 trial verison, but it tells me there is a error when I try downloading it after installing it. It says "Your installation encounted errors", "A conflicting or prerelease verison of Photoshop CS6 has to be removed before downloading." I have deleted all Photoshop programs except CS5. I am not sure why this is happening. I am on a Mac as well.

Branched this out to a new discussion as the previous discussion was regarding errors received while downloading the install files.

  • Problems installing Photoshop CS6 Extended

Hello to whoever is reading this - I have a problem installing Photoshop CS6 Extended (as you can guess from the title) due to the fact that I download a pre release version of it (not the beta) And I've looked everywhere on my laptop and I still can't install the trial even though I've deleted everything relevant to the pre release version, it can't be my normal version of Photoshop CS5 can it? It'sonly occured to the Photoshop CS6 Extended trial, all the other Creative Suite trials from Adobe Download Assisstant work.

Check the start page of this forum or the PS forum. There used to be special threads listed in teh yellow info boxes with info on how to resolve these issues.

  • Problem installing photoshop cs6 from download.

I uninstalled my photoshop cs6  from my last machine a few months ago. I decided to install photoshop cs6 today from Adobe's download center(I did not have the original install). I went thru the install process and keyed my serial in, but it would not install CS6. It would only give me the option of CS6 EXTENDED.  Is Photoshop CS6 regular version part of the download now? Shouldnt I be able to "downgrade" extended to regular? Is there another download from adobe? I do not want to purchase a Cloud membership, as I am fine with my CS6.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Brandon

I do not understand how the image you are showing relates to your problem of having a better version of the software than what you say you purchased.  You will have to contact Adobe Support to see if they can work out whatever the problem is, but I don't think they will consider it a problem if you are getting more than what you paid for.
I do not understand why you mention Photshop Elements... CS6 could not have been purchased as an upgrade to Photoshop Elements... it was never in the upgrade path as far as I know.

  • Creative Cloud: Problems installing Photoshop CS6

I have a license to Creative Cloud but I have problems installing and running Photoshop CS6. When I launch the program it says I can test Photoshop Extended for 30 days but then I need to buy a license. Additional information: 1) I did have Photoshop CS6 beta installed before. Now it is uninstalled (in the correct way from the Control Panel) but still same problem 2) All other Creative Cloud programs install and launch without problems. How do I solve this?

I tried to follow the advice. I removed all Creative Cloud programs. I
then cleaned twice using the cleaning options 3: Creative Cloud and
then 7: CS6. Then re-installed Adobe Application Manager and then
re-installed Photoshop CS6. Still same problem.
I have NOT yet tried to un-installed my old CS 5.5 Design Standard
package.I have also not un-installed my Lightroom 4. Is it necessary
    also to remove those programs?
    Kind regards
    Jens

  • Having problems updating Photoshop CS6 to version 13.0.5?

What is causing problem updating Photoshop CS6 13.0 x64 Extended to version 13.0.5 (Error Code U44M2P7) on Mac running OS X 10.8,4? What is the solution?
(I tried to post this question on the Photoshop forum but was denied. What could cause this?)

I don't know why you were denied.
I have same setup as you.
    USE THIS PROCEDURE:
FIRST BE CERTAIN THAT YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL, PRE CLOUD, INSTALL DMG OR CD in case something      goes badly.
THEN, DEACTIVATE YOUR RUNNING COPY OF PS6.
    UNINSTALL THAT VERSION.
LOG ON TO CREATIVE CLOUD AND CLICK ON "APPS" DOWNLOAD PHOTOSHOP.
ONCE INSTALLED, OPEN IT AND GO TO HELP>update.WHEN THIS IS DONE YOU WILL HAVE VERSION 13.1.2
    good luck,

  • Having trouble installing Photoshop CS6. "Machine restart pending". Restarting machine has no effect.

I found several related articles, but none of them could solve my problem. I got a new computer with Windows 8 on it, and I was going to install Photoshop CS6 on it, but then I got this dialogue.
Restarting the machine doesn't do anything; as the dialogue will just reappear. I had this same problem with my last computer too a year ago, but I eventally chose to ignore it then. I was able to install Photoshop successfully but there were features that didn't behave the way they were suppose to. I took record that the layers did not work independently and that the fill tool acted glitchy. When I ignored the dialogue while trying to install Illustrator and InDesign CS6, there were features that do not behave the same with them as well.
Now I really don't want to just ignore the installer this time around. I got a new computer, and I really want everything to work out. I really think that this dialogue is indicating some type of error, and I really want to work it out before I install anything. I don't want to go through the same issues again.

Photoshop has been installed. I'm thinking that there has been a different problem with my previous computer. Before, the dialogue kept popping up. Right now, it looks like everything is working. There was a very long reboot that worried me, but I think it may have been a Windows problem; as someone else with Windows 8 went through the same thing. Thank you.

  • Anyone have these problems installing Photoshop CS6?

Aloha! Seems Photoshop CS6 has errors for camera profile installer 6.3 and 7.0.  Error 145: Directory not empty.
Not sure how that can be an issue with a new install???

    *Aloha  Mylenium!
Excellent point and since Adobe provides such a less than format I could
not cut and paste that info from the Adobe Photoshop CS6 error window to
the Adobe forum window. I figured maybe someone might eventually email me
so I cut and pasted the error window data to my gmail. That was possible
but somehow it is not possible on Adobe for the forum.
Here is "all" the info I have at my disposal that was provided by Adobe at
the time the Photoshop CS6 install was completed.
    *Exit Code: 6
Please see specific errors and warnings below for troubleshooting. For
    example,  ERROR: DF024, DF037 ... WARNING: DS013 ...

  • Problems installing Photoshop CS6 on New Laptop

My old laptop had a hard drive crash and is dead.  I bought a new laptop yesterday (windows 8.1) and downloaded cs6, which I had installed on the old laptop.  When I enter my serial number, a message says that no version of photoshop was found on my computer (which is true, it's a new computer).  How do I get up and running again with cs6 on my new laptop.  Thanks!

Have you tried pressing the return key?  Which Mac laptop are you using?  What are the settings you see under Resolution in the Display preference pane?

  • I am having problems install Photoshop elements 8.0 and premiere elements 8.0

I have recently received both photoshop elements 8.0 and premiere elements 8.0 and neither will install.
I have gone through (at length!) all the support suggestions e.g. adusting accelaration etc. Absolutley nothing works! I have spent over 4 hours trying to sort this problem which as it is a new product is extemely disappointing. I look for any helpful advice or should I just claim my money back?

I tried downloading the trial version which seems to have gone through. However although i can see lots of new files in a "Premier elements" folder in programs, I cannot see any way to open it. It has not appeared on the programs list and there is no shortcut on the desktop. How am I supposed to access this software?
If this is a trial, you really should make it more user friendly as I am not impressed at all so far.
I have spent over 6 housr now trying to get this sofware to work. If you cannot nwo get this to work, i will return to store and get refund (and use a version of Pinnacle recommended by a friend who has had no problems!
I look forward to an easy and quick resolution.
P.S I note your on line chat is useless as it is only available to USA residents.

  • Problem installing Photoshop CS6

Trying to install CS6 on a Dell 64 bit computer. Get error msg " A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check disc space on your computer and the write privleges on the destination folder". What do I do to install the program?  Thanks Winford

    There's a non-answer...
Depending what version opf Windows, what kind of user you are, and a whole lot of other "maybe" factors, two things are worth keeping mind:
Are you using a file downloaded from Adobe...?
Don't install anything from an external hard drive, or some other drive or partition which is NOT on your C:\ drive. As operating systems get more strict about where they trust installations to occur (meaning: what folder, etc) you're going to run into these types of problems fairly often. Stick with either your Desktop - it is certainly the easiest of all the choices. Not perfect, but better than just about all the others...
Do you have ANY other CS-whatever applications runnig - like Bridge?
In the System Tray, if a little "Br" icon can be seen, then right-click it, and then "exit" from it.
The "TEMP" folder "suggestion has some minor merit. But unless you really know what you're looking for, put that on the back burner until other options prove to be wrong.
