  • I'm having trouble launching Acrobat Pro 11 on my Mac

I'm having trouble launching Acrobat Pro 11 on my Mac after I install it. I'm running OS 10.6 and have been successful in downloading Acrobat, but as soon as I launch it, it crashes. I'm getting the problem report "Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000000." Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi Kleinw,
Are you still facing this issue.
    Please follow below mentioned steps:
Start you Mac in Safe Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564?viewlocale=en_US
Once you are in Safe mode, Disk repair using Disk utility: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/repair-disk-permissions-and-repair-disk
If the above steps didn’t help, you may try to enable root account and check the issue from there

Let me know if that helps.

  • Trouble Updating Acrobat Pro to v9.2

Acrobat 9 .1 was working fine on my computer.  I received the download of the update to v9.2, which appeared to be installed correctly.  However, when I ran the program to create a pdf from a doc file I received the error message that there was a "missing PDF Maker File.  Do you want to run the installer in Repair mode"
I did this and after a lot of screen activity the process was completed without any further error messages but I could still not create a pdf file and received the same error message.
I thought I would uninstall V9.2 (which showed in the list in Control Panel/Add Remove programs).  Clicking on Remove came up with option to Repair.  Selected this and a "process" was completed.  When this finished with no error messages I rebooted and checked the program but it still failed to produce a pdf with the same error.
This time I selected Uninstall so I could have a fresh go.  Did this, ran Windows Installer Cleanup but there was nothing there.  I rebooted and reinstalled v9.0 from the DVD.  All went smoothly but I received the same error when I ran the installed program (I made no attempts to install any of the updates of the version on the disc) it still produced the failure the create a PDF with the same error message.
Any advice on what to try now, please?
    Graham

Problem solved.  I established that I was only having problems with MS Word doc files.  Fortunately I have a laptop with both Word and Acrobat installed and the problem was only on one of the computers.  On one of them there was a disabled plug in for Adobe Acrobat.  I enabled it ans all works fine.

  • I am having trouble updating Acrobat 9.3.1 to Acrobat 9.5.5 on by new laptop system 10.9.4. I have this installed on my iMac system 10.8.5

    Do you have any suggestions?

Download the updates from the update site. For Windows the updates are at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and I think you only have to change "Windows" to get the MAC version. However, I am surprised the AA7 is running on the iMac, but I am not really up on MAC things.

  • Trying to update Acrobat Pro

I received a notice that I needed to update Acrobat Pro (my OS is Windows XP Professional) and tried updating and the install got hung up.  I tried killing all the apps to clear it out, but still get a message that an install is already running when I try to update Acrobat Pro, but I can't find any other apps that are running the install.  Can someone assist me?  I even tried going into the Control Panel to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat, but got hte same error message that an install was running.
    Help!

    Terminate the processes:
Working with your Operating System’s Tools
Run the Acrobat Cleaner Tool and reinstall from scratch.

  • I am having trouble updating apps through iTunes, iTunes shuts down when I try to sync.

I am having trouble updating apps that I have on my iPhone through iTunes.  I go through the update then when syncing I get an error message iTunes has to shut down.  The only way I have been able to work around is to delete the app and download it again.  If I don't do this the app says waiting on my iPhone.

I just got the same message myself. Which I have only had 2 times in three years, so I checked here.
    http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/
There is an issue with the iTunes Store on Apple's end, so I assume that is why we cannot connect.

  • Cannot update Acrobat Pro

    Hi,
When I try to update Acrobat Pro to the newest minor version (9.3.3), I cannot complete the operation due to a dialog box that appears in the background, and cannot be moved to the foreground. To complete the operation I should click a button in this dialog box, but it is impossible and I must force-quit the updater.
This bug was already in the previous version of Acrobat, and despite I and others reported it, it is still there. Maybe someone knows how to solve the problem without waiting for a fix?
    Paolo
As you see, the lower dialog box stays in the background (and cannot be moved forward).

I'm having a similar problem.  I did check in Adobe support and could find nothing related to my issue.  In Fact, several support search responses directed me to this forum.
When I try to update, at some point in the repair I get a dialogue box that is titled "Repair Setup."  It just sits there, won't go away won't let me check or uncheck anything in the box or move it.  From this discussion I got the suggestion and tried running the repair command under the help menu.  This at least lets me check of uncheck the checkbox and click cancel or continue.  This box asks whether I want or don't want the Acrobat plug-in in Safari.  I definitely don't want it there.  When I uncheck the box it says it has removed it, but the dialogue box stays in place in the center of my screen until I reboot the computer.  If I re-run repair Acrobat, it once again lets me check or uncheck and tell it to cancel or continue.  So, I tried telling it it could install the plug-in.  It then told me I had to quit Safari.  So, I quit Safari and tried again, but it keeps telling me I have to quit Safari even though I have already quit Safari.
This is hugely frustrating.  It makes me want to make sure I never try to upgrade Acrobat again.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    --Kenoli

  • Updated Acrobat Pro to 8.2.4 Now it will not launch.

I just updated my Acrobat 8 Pro to 8.2.4 and I get an error message that says
"Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component . . . "
I am on a Mac Pro Quad-Core Intel Xeon running OS 10.6.4.  I use Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, which is activated for the computer I use.
I have never had this problem when updating Acrobat before. What does it mean by "you must launch at least one other suite component  . . ."? I opened Photoshop CS3 but that did not solve this.
What is the solution? How can I get Acrobat Pro to work?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi
Add me to the list of users plagued with Adobeitis.
Like Bryan Rodgers I used TM to recover 8.2.3. Assuming this is still functioning Bryan perhaps you will be kind enough to tell us of any tweaks you had yo make, like trashing ‘plist’ etc.
The first launch of 8.2.3 went the same way as 8.2.4, then all was well. For a little while.
Then it was back to square one, even launching from within Bridge, i.e. clicking on a PDF, only resulted on a very brief appearance of Acrobat and then reappearance of the warning message.
    UPDATE:
I seem to have resolved my TM Recovery problems by deleting the Folder in Applications/Adobe CS3 Master Collection/Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.
Placing the recovered Folder in it’s place and having previously dragged the various ‘com.adobe.Acrobat.???.plist files to the Desktop.
Several files have been loaded and Acrobat quitted and restarted several time and all is still OK.
Hopefully the ‘solution’ will materialise soon.

  • Having trouble updating itunes v10.5 onto XP, "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." any advise?

Having trouble updating itunes v10.5 onto XP pro. " There is aproblem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. any advise?

    1. Open the control panel
    2. Open Add/Remove programs (called "Programs and Features" in Windows 7)
    3. Navigate to "Apple Software Update" in the list and click on it
    4. Click on "Change" then select "Repair" (or just select the repair option in Windows 7)
Once you repair this, try running iTunes and the update again.
    Fingers crossed!
