I am new to meta link

greetings,
my company got licenses for the oracle database recently, the database version we have is 10.2.0.1 i would like to upgarde to 10.2.0.3. i went to metalink and start trying to use it but i couldn't understand what to do... if some one can provide me with a guide on how to use meta link then that will be appreciated.

I think you should ask your customer contact at Oracle that (since you want to put that license/support money to good use) you need a run through of Metalink and Support processes to be able to take advantage of it all. For instance, there are tutorials for new Metalink users on a regular schedule.

In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".
To find your OS information, on your Windows desktop, right-click the My Computer icon, choose Properties, under System on that small window is info about your OS.

I am unable to open a new window / open link in a new window

In the previous Firefox versions we are able to open a new window & open link in a new window. The feature is there when you "right click" on the tab or click on the "open a new window" but it simply not functioning

Link context method works for me, there have been many complaints that the first two items were switched, and that can be easily modified with the "'''Menu Editor'''" extension.
If it does not work for you an extension might be involved.
There is also the mouse shortcut '''Shift+click''' on the link. Called mouse shortcut because it involves the mouse.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

New 10 Meter twinax cable

According to the updated compatibility matrix, the new 10 Meter twinax SFP-H10GB-ACU10M cable does not show interoperability with the Catalyst 6500 67xx 10 Gig linecards (With CVR-X2-SFP10G converter for X2 ports). The shorter 1-5 meter twinax cables show that they are interoperable.

I suspect it might have something to do with the CVR-X2-SFP10G, seeing that the converter module data sheet also does not list any length of the Active Twinax cables being compatible.
I am trying to reach out to someone within the Product Mgmt org to see if they can provide an answer... but my contacts are old....

When clicking on links that open in a new window, the links don't open and Firefox freezes in a way. I can navigate the page I am on but cannot click to open a new tab or bookmark.

When navigating the internet, if I come across a web page that has a link to open a picture or program in a new window, if I click on it, it does not open. Firefox immediately looses functionality in that I cannot open a new tab with the mouse wheel, right click to open a new tab, or use my bookmarks in either the drop down or toolbar to navigate away. I can usually still navigate the page that I am on, for example, (https://loanconsolidation.ed.gov/AppEntry/apply-online/appindex.jsp), when it freezes I cannot click on any of the content at the center of the page but I can still use the links from the list on the far left. For an example of the pictures, (http://www.insect-sale.com/), if you click on "New Arrivals" at the top of the page it takes you to a list of products that can only be viewed by clicking on them. Usually a picture of the item would open in a small window but it does not and Firefox freezes. This has also happen when I try a view a degree audit on a school's website where a program would usually open in a new window. The only thing I have been able to find that still functions properly when this happens is the home page button. I can click on it or use the wheel to open it in a tab just fine, but if I try and go anywhere else I cannot. The only way I can get Firefox back to normal is to use the Task Manager and end the process. Another thing I have noticed, that may or may not be related; is that my Norton Internet Security toolbar, that should show up below the bookmarks toolbar and above the tabs, only shows up about 1 out of every 10 times I open Firefox. Some days it doesn't show up at all. If it does show up and I log into Identity Safe, the autofill for the programed website works, even if the toolbar doesn't show up the next time I open Firefox.

Go to Tools->Options->Apps
Here you should see two columns: Content Type on the left, Actions on the right.
Find and select excel spreadsheet or any other content type in the left column. There should be a corresponding action in the right column. What is it? You can use the drop-down list to select the option you want:

I can't open new tabs from links in a site, while it is possible from chrome.

In this site http://www.thepressproject.gr/ I can't open the links in new tabs, while for the same site using chrome I can. When I right click on the link, i don't have the usual options (open in new tab, open in new window, bookmark etc.). It is as if it doesn't "see" the links at all and the options are for the main page.
What is wrong?

That is a really strange issue. I've never heard of it before nor can I figure out how to fix it. What I'd recommend doing is disabling all your add-ons to see if that fixes the problem. If it does, one of your add-ons is causing the issue. If it doesn't, try [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|starting Firefox is Safe Mode]] to see if the issue disappears. If the problem doesn't happen in Safe Mode, it's a problem with something that runs in Firefox when you start it normally (could be settings, plug-ins, add-ons, etc). If you can't figure out what is causing the problem in Safe Mode or you know the problem but can't solve it, the easiest thing to do is to [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset Firefox]] or completely reinstall Firefox, described below:

How to remove the new, but unneeded, "links buttons" at bottom of FF default start pg?

New default FF w/Google is great, & thanks very much too all. Would prefer to remove the new button links at bottom of pg, & have more blank space on the page where the new links are presently. The links are already fine for use at top of pg in a toolbar. Is removing the 6 new button links possible? Thanks.

Adding New View Objects/Link on "Preview and Print" - Order Acknowledgement

Can we add New View Objects/View Links for the existing "Preview and Print" Order Acknowledgement.
I want to add for the 2 new functionalities i.e., for Charges (from OE_PRICE_ADJUSTMENTS_V ) and the Line Level Notes, which is currently not supported by Oracle.
Can anyone help me on acheving this functionality?

You can do that. You should first create the new business objects(AM, VO, VL) in jdeveloper, create your new regions in jdeveloper, associate the AM to the top level region(stackLayout) you create. Use personalization and add a stack layout in the Preview and Print page, set the extends property to point to the new region which you had created. Donot forget to deploy all the files in middle tier before doing the personalization.
The AM which you had added to the stackLayout will automatically be nested with the root AM of the page during runtime.

Open iView in New Window via Link

I have created a link that opens an iView within a role:

Although, I have set the the iView parameter to Open in Separate Window, it is displayed within the portal content area. How can I achieve that the iView is opened in a separate window?

So you want the user pressing the link, a new browser window opens with the portal, and from that, an additional window opens with the iView?! Hm, if it makes sense for you...
No, EPCM calls of course don't work within an eMail. And the solution you have implemented is the one to go, whether implemented as KM doc or as an iView rendering the JS.

Wont open new tab with link is clicked

Since upgrading to from FF-6 to FF-7, when I click on a text link it doesn't open up in new tab, it just goes to the link within the same window. I've confirmed that I have the tab setting in FF7 set to open a new tab instead of a window, and Google settings set to open links in new tabs, but since the upgrade it all stopped working. No other software has been added or changed, just the new FF7 installed. Any thoughts, or is this a bug?

I uninstalled the Ask.com toolbar and the problem was resolved.

Adding a New Contact Record link in a report

Dear Gurus,
I've followed instructions on how to create a New record link in a report using instructions from the Oracle CRM On Demand Reporting book but needed additional help in terms of how to auto populate the Account Name onto the New Contact Edit screen. I've created a custom Contact report that is setup as a web applet to replace the OOB Contact section that is showing on the Account Detail screen.
On this report, I've created a hyperlink that opens a New record edit screen for a Contact record. I need to pass in the Account Name since this is a required field on the Contact Detail screen and needed help with the URL that I've entered as a custom text format in the column formula. From the M. Lairson's Reporting book, I've entered:

Copy the URL from the contact create link and pass the values like Account Name etc by adding it to the URL, use & to separate the values.
