I am not able to open up Safari!!!!!!!

I am not able to open up Safari, but I think that maybe I have a virus on my computer what is not allowing me to open it up. The Safari icon jumps when I click on it, but thats it. It doesn't open and I really need to use it! I have to use Google Chrome and I absolutely hate it! Please someone help!!!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • Safari Not Able to Open .Mac Web Gallery

This is a very unexpected error. A friend sent me his web gallery link and Safari is not able to open the page. An error message appears:
"This browser is incompatible with .Mac Web Gallery.
    We support the following browsers:
    Mac OS X
Safari 2.0 or later (requires Mac OS X 10.4.10 or later)
    Firefox 1.5 or later"
Now that is very unexpected because I'm using OS X 10.5.1 and Safari 3.0.4. Wouldn't you know that I can launch it just fine using Firefox. I don't want to use Firefox and thought I would be able to use an Apple product (Safari) to actually open Apple technology (web gallery).
This is the only issue I've experienced after Leopard upgrade and the most annoying. I've provided Safari Bug feedback, but I don't expect a response.
I'm looking for someone out there to help me through this issue. Otherwise, I hope Apple is listening. Don't give me a reason to switch back to FireFox.

    Hi,
From previous postings here it seems to be a problem with the .Mac Gallery rather than Safari. Anecdotal reports seem to suggest there is insufficient bandwidth on those servers and when they get bogged down they mis-report the error message you saw.
Check in the [.Mac Web Gallery|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1199] forum to see if they have some more concrete information.

  • I am not able to open Safari on my ipad

    Hi
I am not able to open Safari on my ipad
    Thanks
    Sandy

Can you share what happens when you try? Any error messages?
Without knowing more I can only suggest quitting Safari and then resetting the iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. The do the reset. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

  • Not able to open mail from my mac, gmail repeatedly asking for password. but using same password able to open gmail on safari

not able to open mail from my mac, gmail repeatedly asking for password. but using same password able to open gmail on safari

okay well they got me to take out some .plist files to see if that would help it didn't. I'm not sure what ones that they deleted for my self maybe someone here would be abel to tell you what ones to take out but didn't work the one that came close to working was this going into keychain and deleting the account(s) then reading them again.
if you are to do this please back up first with Time Machine. You can do this with a usb drive.
Okay so go back to where you had internet accounts and make sure mail is shut. click the - on the account your having problems with then quit system preferences.
Okay so then press cmd and space bar at the same time then type 'keychain access' into the search then click on 'keychain access'
once it is open go to the top of the window and put your email address that you are having problems with.
once you have put in your full email, have a look at what comes up i deleted things in the kind colome with 'internet password' and anything with under name that had smtp.gmail.com or imap.gmail.com so it would look like this, map.gmail.com - internet password.
right click and delete them. make sure not to touch any other files that dont say them things on them.
Once you have done this quit keychain access and then restart the computer, once the computer is restarted go back to system preferences and internet accounts and re-add the account.
Hope this helps. if something is not clear just ask.

  • Not able to open secure web pages

    Hi Members,
Their seems to be some problem with my internet. I hope i can get some answer to it. After i had my firmware update for my macbook (leopard 10.5.2 combo updated), it became very slow and gave me kernel panic. Last week i had to format my HDD and re-installed Mac OSX. Now i see some very serious problem. Neither i can use my macbook to log in to dicussion forum and not able to open any secure websites like facebook.com, hi5.com and microsoft.com and support.apple.com. Its pulling my nerves.
    Kindly Help.
    Regards
    Vikram

Thank you so much for the helpful information. Let me tell you in brief...
    "Hi,
It has been an ongoing problem with my mac book. I have to use a PC to log in to my discussion forum to know about my questions. I am using a macbook (leopard 10.5.2 combo updated) and i had done a complete re-installtion of the Mac OSX as i had a kenel panic after i had created another account to check the problem with safari (as on a telephone call with apple support). Then i am not able to log into my account even on .mac account too. I had firefox but i had to do too much of "forced quit" when i had to close. Even my "SENDING ERROR REPORTS" FAILS everytime.
All this started when i had some software updates from the website. How can i get rid of this problem. Further, while using any pc on the same network, i have the same problem. Is it a hardware / Mac OS software related problem or the Network (ISP) related problem....
    Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Help. "

    Hi Jeannie ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Select the Edit button next to:  User names and passwords. If you see the url for that credit union website, delete it. If not, it's ok.
Now open Keychain Access located in /Applications/Utilities. Select Passwords on the left.
Type in the name of the credit union website in the search field on the right then right or control click that keychain then click Delete.
Back to Safari. Navigate to the credit union site. Login with your user name and password. You should be prompted to save that data to a new keyhain. Click yes.

  • Why is my mac not able to open pdf files?

Why is my mac not able to open pdf files?

my internet session closes down and a box appears saying this
[The Application Safari quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the Acrobat plug in. Mac OS X and other applications are not affected. Click Relaunch to relaunch the application again, Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple]

  • Not able to open PDF files

Not able to open PDF files. Before I switched to Lion OS, clicking on a pdf would automatically open it in Adobe Reader. Now I either get a black page or I get just the first page of the document but still in Safari. I would like the pdf to open Adobe Reader. I have tried some of the suggestions in other threads such as deleting all PDF items from Library/Internet Plug-Ins. That did not work.

    Hi ,
Make sure to back up your Mac before messing around with any system files.
Press and hold COMMAND + TAB to bring up your Mac’s application switcher, then keep tapping the TAB key while still holding down the COMMAND key until the selector lands on Finder. When it does, go ahead and release the COMMAND and TAB keys.
Click on the Go menu at the top of the screen, select “Go to folder…” then copy and paste this folder “path” into the pop-up window:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
A new folder window will appear, showing a list of all the browser plug-ins installed in Safari—and at the very top (if the list is sorted alphabetically), you should see one or more files labeled “AdobePDFViewer.” Drag the old Adobe plug-ins into the Trash, then quit and restart Safari.
Try opening a PDF in Safari again—and yes, it should work, using Safari’s own “native” PDF reader.
Now, want to open PDFs in Safari using a fresh Adobe PDF Viewer plug-in? Try this:
Visit this page to download and install the latest (and free) version of Adobe Reader.
Quit and re-launch Safari, then open a PDF file directly in the browser; when you do, the PDF should open using your new Adobe Reader plug-in.

  • Not able to open Modal Page through a report attribute link

    Dear All,
Not able to open Modal Page through a report attribute link, kindly help me...
I am using skill builders modal page plugin ...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Madonna

Here's what you have to do.
You set up your column link like this:
    Link text: whatever you like
    Link attributes: onclick="return false;" class="open_modal"
    Target: Page in this application
Page: number of the page you want to open in your modal window
You set up your dynamic action like this:
    Event: Click
    Selection type: jQuery selector
    jQuery selector: .open_modal
(notice the dot at the beginning!)
Action: SkillBuilders Modal Page (2.0.0) [Plug-in]
    Event Scope: Dynamic
And finally, in your True Action (SkillBuilders Modal Page (2.0.0)), URL Location should be set as Attribute of Triggering Element.
And that's pretty much all it takes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Not able to open SharePoint 2010 Site in SharePoint Designer 2010

    Hi all,
I have SharePoint 2010 Environment and when I try to open the site in SharePoint Designer with the regular URL (https://xyz.com)
some time i am getting error "'The server sent a response which SharePoint Designer could not parse. If you are trying to connect to a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation server, check with the server's administrator to make sure Microsoft
Foundation is installed properly" and some time its work fine and open the site without any issue... but when i try to open the site with the internal URL like (http://Servername:Port) it work perfectly.
Even i am not able to open the custom workflow in SharePoint designer whenever i am able to open the site with my regular URL (https://xyz.com) and getting error "Failed to load the configuration file for the workflow", but with
the Internal URL (http://Servername:Port) i am able to open that workflow without any issue.
    Please suggest!!!

    Hi NaveenKSah,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you opened AAM url of a site with SharePoint 201o Designer.
Please try to add <remove verb="*" path="*.asmx" /> after <httpHandlers> in the site web.config file, compare the result.
Note: before changing the web.config file, please make a backup for the file.
More information, please refer to the link:

    I hope this helps.
