I am resurrecting my old iMacG5 for my grandson. Appleworks has question mark in dock and does not load from bundled software on original installation discs. Can anyone help?

I'm sorry no-one has answered you yet - I'm afraid I don't know the answer to the question: but I wanted to put into your mind that starting up with AppleWorks at this stage isn't a good idea. The program was 'end-of-lifed' years ago, it won't run on Lion, and some of the document types created in it - Databases in particular - cannot be opened at all by any other program whatever. Word Processing documents can be opened in Pages, and Spreadsheets in Numbers (with some reservations in both cases), but building up a collection of AppleWorks documents at this stage is going to lead to problems later on.
It's difficult to know what to recommend for a PowerPC machine that would still be compatible with modern ones. An older version of Microsoft Office, perhaps, if you can find one which will run on PPC; but most of the modern Word Processors are Intel only. This is something you would need to investigate.

Thanks for that 'sberman' - because my iPhone is backed-up to my work computer (only at this stage) I have had to call our IT Department in Adleaide. (4 times this morning). The last guy managed to get the phone into 'DFU Mode' - no more recovery mode screen - (kind of 'asleep' perhaps) from my understanding of same. I am awaiting a call again from IT so they can get my computer to actually recognise my iPhone on the C Drive. This also happened to one of my colleagues in Newman (WA). She got so frustrated with the whole process that she bought another phone the next time she was in 'civilisation.' She hasn't had any problems since. (Cross fingers).

This is how I fixed it on my new iPhone 5S. Using the standard yahoo setting on my phone.
You will have to access "managing your app passwords" on your account profile for yahoo. Generate password for your app. For example: "My iPhone 5S'
Go to your Iphone and set up your yahoo mail account on your phone the normal way and you have to use the generated password. instead of the yahoo account password.

I have not restored device so have all my data on it still. Am not pluggin it in for first time, did this originally when setting up phone. I have an option to restore to original backup as well as 'set up as new'. What happens if I chose the 'restore from backup' option.' how do I go about backing it up first - if i right click 'iphone'' option on left hand side under devices the only option is'eject' or 'restore'. I'm not sure that my iphone is being recognised by itunes - should it not give the name of my iphone under devices?

My iPad shows the apple logo for 5 seconds while charging then shuts off for 10 seconds then shows the apple logo for 5 seconds and so on. I can get it to the connect to iTunes screen but as soon as I unplug it from the wall it shuts off. Can anyone help?

I have a disclaimer that says my Adobe Flash Player is out of date and needs to be updated. I have been trying to figure this out for 2 days, which is a waste of time, and I chatted with Adobes Customer Service department who said they can't help me

because it is a free application. They referred me to the Forum (which I have tried many times) but to me that is like a dog trying to chase the tail. I am very upset because I cannot get You Tube nor can I listen to music. This may seem trite but it is not trite to me. I pay monthly for the use of CC Photoshop and Lightroom. I will not give them anymore money for other software as they do not offer excellent customer service. I am a consumer and should be treated with business sense. I was flooded with offers of new services from $10. to $49. per month - and my audio/video for Facebook, NYT and NPR are "blocked" with the advice to "upgrade " my Adobe Flash Player - for which there does not seem to be any customer support. I used Creative Cloud to update LR last night, along with updates to PS and Bridge. Problem is with LR. It does not open. When I click on icon the logo comes on for about .25 seconds, goes away. It does not load from Application window. I cannot start it

I had the same issue and resolution. Spotlight search for "Mail Badger" and deleting everything resolves the issue.
I'm also running Safari 3.0.2 and 10.4.10...
I've emailed the developer to let him know about it..

Developing site to use external javascript files for server access. my ain.js file just displays and does not execute. Why?

My ain.js file is meant to work on and access server files for tracking all visitors to the site I am developing.
One way to access it, in my plan, is to use index.htm. when I open index.htm it displays correctly and presents a link to ain.js with a query line (?a=zzzzz--e2).
The entire file is displayed; but not executed.
Short of building my own server (prior to publishing what I am developing) how do you propose I test what I have written?
As a retiree, I have limited funds (the purpose of developing a website is meant to coorect that).

I can only see some of the information of my Facebook friends in my Contacts. For example, a friend has a birthday today. I received an email that she and another friend have birthdays this week. I received a notification on my iPhone and iPad that her birthday was today. It was never displayed in my Notification Center or Calendar beforhand, like it's displayed for other friend's (for other friends, it's displayed in the Notification Center, with the Calendar icon, 1 day before). I looked at every setting I could think of and the Help pages on Facebook. Nothing is working. My friend with the birthday today has her birthday openly listed on her Profile information on her Facebook page. In my contacts, her Facebook email (the one Facebook assigns you when you join) is listed. However her picture and birthday are not listed. I displayed my Facebook Contacts only, and roughly 20 showed up and not the rest. It's like the devices are not recognizing those people and putting their information in the respective places. I have an iPad 3rd Gen, iPhone 5, and MacBook Pro (purchased in January 2013. I hope that helps) and ALL the software updates are current. Can anyone help? Also, my MacBook cannot access my Contacts from Yahoo. Despite my typing in the correct password repeatedly as well as deleting and adding the Yahoo account again. I have been given an old ipod classic from a friend at work for my 3 year old to have to listen to her Disney songs on. I have tried but I can't get it to sync to my iTunes at all. The computer recognises that there is a device there but it won't link up. I have changed cables as I wasn't using an apple one but I managed to find one. From what I understand is that the device will show up in iTunes but it will not allow you to synchronize media over to the device even after you reset the device. When you say you reset the device, do you mean you restored the device in iTunes? What error message you are getting when attempting to synchronize media?

That's possible if he didn't connect to a WiFi hotspot after taking them. I don't think the "Personal" Photo Stream uploads over Cellular, unless they changed it since the last time I used it.
If that's the case, then the photos likely didn't upload to Photo Stream and are stuck on the phone.
And you're not going to be able to get them back, either.
