I am trying to download itunes to my computer, when i hit the download button it goes directly to the screen that says now you have itunes......NOTHING HAS BEEN DOWNLOADED, i have been trying for two days to download and it is not working please help!

Since I have updated my software, my imessage and facetime is not activating. I have tried to reset the phone, holding the lock button and the home button, trying to connect it under different wifi. Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I have been trying for two days to download the new icloud 4 that was offered at the same time as the new iTunes just prior to iOS8 release.
I keep getting installer package error messages, I uninstalled the previous version to see if that was the problem to now find that I cant reinstall it as the new version is the only one available.
Im using Windows 7, I'm assuming Im not the only one with this problem.
Would a complete uninstall and reinstall of Apple software be of any benefit or is that just a cure all solution when nobody has an answer?@Dakotaep

It is not clear what you mean. Normally one does not generate a serial number, it is provided with the purchase.

I think you misunderstood the guy. The up-to-date program isn't working for a lot of people. I'm eligible for the free upgrade but it fails to recognise my serial. From what I've read, this is affecting a lot of people who purchased their computers online. Apple seems to be fixing the issue though, so my advice would be to keep trying. Alternatively, click on the manual verificaton link so they can check your order for you and send the redemption code after they do.

I live in South Africa, and I had the same problem with my iPhone 4.
After weeks of frustration and swearing, I was in the process of restoring my phone to a previous iOS. To do that you need to turn the "Find my iPhone" option off, since i turned it off, my problem was solved. No need to repair anything or revert back to old iOS.

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.
