iOS 5: Updating your device to iOS 5 or Later
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972
If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update.

Can't get my Icloud to connect to outlook. Error message - setup can't continue because outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Help! Can't sync my contacts or calender with my other devices. Email works fine. Steve
I've looked at the Microsoft support info and it doesn't reveal anything new. I looked up the eM Client software and have decided to give it a try. I've been using Thunderbird and Gmail for years, but the issue of keeping contacts in snyc accross platforms led me to try Outlook as supposedly compatable with iCloud. Thanks for eM Client tip. It seems to work well and I'll be testing it for the next few weeks. While I'd still like to be able to solve the issue with Outlook (I'm not used to being defeated by software), I've got plenty of other things to keep me busy and a working solution is the priority here.
Thanks for the tip! -
Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile
This is the latest error message in trying to get Outlook and iCloud to Sync. I actually had it working on Win 8 with Outlook 2010. The sync file was corrupted and I foolishly said Delete connection to Exchange - thinking I did not have an Exchange server. Since then the connection to iCloud did not work.
After upgrading to Outlook 2013 - 64-bit and uninstalling and reinstalling both it and iCloud and changing profile in Outlook 2013.
I still get an error message:
"outlook isn't configured to have a default profile"
This comes when I check Mail, etc. in the iCloud app on my Win 8 64-bit PC. The Outlook is also 64-bit.I solved this myself. I installed iCloud - so that I could uninstall it properly. Then I uninstalled it. Then I installed it again in a new directory. Then it worked. Phew!

hello. my ive been trying to restore my ipod touch 4th gen because it was frozen on the apple logo. i got it to go to the connect to itunes image. i plugged it into my computer to try and restore. i open itunes and it says "you must restore this ipod to use itunes". i click ok and then i accept the terms. after that it shows that it will take 41 mins to restore, but then it says "we connot restore this, there was a problem. it also says to check your network connections or try again" my network connetions are on and its still not working! please help
Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

I have Windows 7 Home Prem, 64 Bit, MS Office 2010 Professional Plus 64 Bit, iTunes 10.5, IOS 5.0.1 on 2 iPhone 4s and an iPad2. I can turn on Photo Stream, Bookmarks and Outlook in iCloud Control Panel. I can not turn on Calendars or Contacts. I get the error in the subject of this msg.
I have configured the Outlook PROFILE 6 different ways and it still does not resolve the problem. What I did was install iCloud again - uninstall it properly so everything goes - reinstall iCloud in a separate directory and finally it worked. This may be all you need to do - but in case there are other things I did that helped see below.
This was after I had actually installed and reinstalled Outlook. In between I actually upgraded from 2010 to 2013 Outlook which I installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired - as you have done.
I also absolutely cleared the Outlook calendar to remove not only repeating entries but all entries - put it in List View to do this. Some have said that recurring entries in Outlook cause problems.
I actually exported my Outlook email and imported back in under a different profile and deleted the Outlook profile - renamed my new profile Outlook - but that I don't think made much difference.
I believe that the clean install of iCloud worked. Also I had deleted the Sync file long ago - you can find it in Outlook if you look for your data files - there's one with an obscure name - I deleted that and moved it.
I got rid of the Outlook Config file - it's in Roaming, not Local - username/AppDat/Microsoft/Outlook/YOURPROFILE.XML - you can actually set profiles from the Control Panel if you go to Mail.... -

Question: I am getting this message from iTunes on my iMac:
An error occurred while contacting the radio tuning service. Check your Internet connection, or try again later.
Can't find a way to fix this. Does anyone have any suggestions?Yeaaaah... I just powered up my G3 iMac... iTunes 7 on there... My iTunes on there can't do much. But it's still subscribed to one podcast that's still valid and working. If I try to use the radio, I get this message. I wager they changed urls and the like in the background years ago and this is just so old there's no longer any support for it.
-
I have been using iTunes for years to connect to the radio and just recently tried to tune in and an error sign pops up stating " A error occurred while contracting the radio tunning service. Check your internet connection or try again later." There's no problrm with my internet service so what's up?
You are probably using an old version of iTunes with which the stream link service seems to have stopped working for many users of older iTunes. No, Apple makes no comment about this kind of thing. It may reappear, it may not (it has been dead for over a week now). Your solution is to upgrade the operating system version on your computer from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 so you can run a newer iTunes, or live without. You can still open streams if you can get the URL, and you can then save them as playlist items.

When trying to sign in to Face Time, I continually get "Face time Activation" "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again". I am able to access the internet via Safari, so my network connection seems to be working. What am I doing wrong, and how can I access Face Time?
Hey sklingen,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues signing into FAceTime. The following article may help to resolve your issue:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268
You may also want to reset your network settings:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: this will delete any network related settings (saved Wi-Fi passwords, etc), it will not erase any content from your device.
Thanks,
Matt M. -
I have tried to update my iPhone using the iTunes method but it will not work. The message "The iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection or try again later," appears. What do I do? The Internet is working fine.
Have you tried the following troubleshooting document?
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
If you end up using the If the iTunes Store opens successfully section of the document, and the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox is already checked, try unchecking and rechecking it and clicking OK.
