I am unable to open my html files saved from mozilla firefox without internet connection...........each time it shows the error message as follows:-

I have saved some internet pages from mozilla firefox as html pages in F:/ drive....i am using windows7...whenever i open these files without internet connection....then it opens only for a short time and suddenly crashes by displaying the message like that:-
File not found

Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors.
Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.

When I open an html file saved in UTF-8 format the 3-byte file header (usually hex EF BB BF) is shown as text at top-left. How can I avoid this - all other browsers interpret the header correctly and don't show it.

I write VB apps that create web pages for international sports scoring systems, and these must be able to show Latin, Cyrillic, eastern names etc. that require 2-bytes for some characters in the text. This means saving in UTF-8 to avoid 8-bit ASCII files being created. UTF-8 files typically have a 3-byte header = hex EB BB BF, and with all browsers except Firefox this header is interpreted and not shown. Firefox however always displays these characters as ï»¿ at the top-left screen position. What do I have to do the make Firefox recognize UTF-8 files, or do to my UTF-8 files to work properly with Firefox?

You see that UTF-8 BOM (Byte Order Mark) because of the content type specification in the page code.

If you remove that or change it to utf-8 then Firefox won't show that BOM as text. There is however no need to insert that BOM at the start of the file. You can also configure the server to send the file (all files) as utf-8.

You can check for issues with the Windows icon cache and try to rebuild the icon cache.

Mail Icon is missing, and unable to open from Applications. (Mail 3.6 is not supported is the error message) I am on Lion OSX 10.7.3.

Xcode 4.x cannot be installed on Snow Leopard. You need a 3.x. So if that is what you used then yes, you need to install lion. If connect.apple.com still alows registration or logins using an existing appleid then you could download the last xcode 3.2.6 for free.

The report mentioned by Rajen should clear the inconsistent records.
Please observe that you could have found this by yourself report with a quick note search for this error message or even searching for old threads.
Even a google search points to the solution.
You should do your own research before opening such kind of thread.

If you are not able to get Adobe Acrobat Reader to open .pdf files in the browser. Even after you check in prefs to show pdf files in the browser.
Make this modification for all versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader that show under this key.
-Note: Deleting the key and all subkeys for any older versions also seems to fix this problem. So if you see this key present,

delete the 7.0 and all subkeys.

I can't open a jpg file directly from an Outlook email attachment into Photoshop CC.

When I try to open a jpg file directly from an Outlook email attachment into Photoshop CC I get this error message " Photyoshop CC.exe - Entry Point not found" with this string:

I don't think I have ever been able to open an image directly from Outlook into Photoshop. What you can do, is drag from outlook to desktop, and then from desktop into Photoshop. Or, if seeing the windows at the same time is a problem, drag onto desktop, then minimise everything, and drag onto the Photoshop icon (if you have a Photoshop shortcut on your desktop).

None of the links in my TOC or INDEX work. Cannot find file is the error message.

The files are on a networked drive. Win7. FM 8. I've renamed files. Regenerated. Created a new book. Nothing works.
I do have hyphens and underscores in the file names but no other special characters.
Need help urgently.

IIRC, FM8 had an issue with a path having more than 5 (or 6?) sub-folders. Try bringing the files up a few levels or create a mapped network drive down to the lower levels.

Nobody can tell you anything without knowing exact site and server specs, but I would suspect that naming the folder "html" wasn't the brightest of ideas, since that's usually a default (invisible) folder name existing somewhere on the server and the user not having privileges to overwrite it.

For what it's worth...the html file I'm tring to open uses a <canvas> tag. When opened by itself, the html file has no problem opening and displaying the canvas data.

With the exeption of images, to add external content to a document you will need to make use of either serverside or clientside code.

It is an alv list, where I have added a pushbotton. And I would like to code the utility of open a local html file, when someone push it.

Open my html file and cannot edit it

When I open my html file from Flash, in view design all I get is a grey box with the Flash symbol in the middle and no html tools.
I want to link some of my buttons but if I go into view live I get html tools but I still can't access them to make links.
How do I get my html page so that I can make my links?

Your next button can still do that. But it has to be programmed within Flash. Flash files are not natively handled by Dreamweaver. You have to export them in order to place them on a website within Dreamweaver.
The only way that Dreamweaver can do this for you is if you create a button in Dreamweaver which does this action for you outside of the Flash area. Then this button can link to another page or Flash file. But if the button resides within the Flash file then it must be edited with Flash.
