The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

It's good to read Antoniad's post. It reassures me that I can use my new iPad as an international communication device which is the reason I purchased the thing. However, I called Verizon today (my provider of cellular data) who told me that I can't just pop in a SIM card as you suggested. He also said that he was from the "Pre-Pay" division of Verizon and he was certain that I couldn't do what I planned to do. I was extremely disappointed as I had called Apple prior to buying the iPad and I read the algorhythm on the website for choosing an iPad before purchasing. Those sources were quite specific and the information seemed clear. I would be able to use my iPad to communicate through cellular connections while traveling on the road, literally, abroad. I was told that I could pop in a data card wherever I was, just as you indicated in your message above, and voila I was good to go. The Verizon rep definitively rained on that parade, but said that I might be able to do this if I have a "Post-Pay" account, a different area of Verizon. I haven't had the chance to talk to this division yet, so I looked to Apple's Support for answers. Maybe I will find out that I can use my iPad as an international communication device while traveling on the road afterall, however, it appears I may need a different type of account (Post-Pay), something I was never warned about. Can I switch to this kind of account? I don't know. I have to find out. If you have any information about this issue, it would be good to share since I strongly suspect there are others who bought the iPad for the same purpose that I have.

Hi all. I am new to iPad and am trying to buy / download certain apps thru iTunes and or App Store. I have found the apps i want yet I keep getting messages saying "this app is not yet available in the South African store"! which means i am unable to buy it. Why not and how can i get around this? If you see a dialog telling you the app is not avaiable, then it's not available.
And keep in mind, your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.

A: Go to iForgot.apple.com and reset the passcode using the password system there, or by going to appleid.apple.com
or
B: IF possible restore the device to factory settings via iTunes.
What's the xtent of the damage and the reason you need to do it?

I have to create a report which lists the the specific range.
If the next record's start_no is the immediate next number for the prevoius record's
end_no .....then it has to display all those numbers in a range until it finds a number which is not next immediate number for the previous record's end number.
like for example....if the user wants to see from 1 to 20 range.
then the result must be like this........

How can I get the e-mail address (reply addr.) once connected to a server
My application ask the user to enter the POP3 server host name (+ port) more the
POP3 server userId and password .... I can get the e-mails and show the to the user ....
Now, the user want to send a message from that "account" and what I need
is to know the "reply address" (the "from address") to set to the outgoing message ...
I would like to get it somehow (from the API or in anotherway) without asking the
user to enter it ...
So, oonce connected to the POP3 mail server (successful login) is it
possible to get the e-mail address of that guy ??

I don't believe that the pop3 server has anyway to tell you this. Unless your host name is "fully qualified", i.e. pop3.somedomain.com, I don't know that you can get this information. Maybe you could take the IP address and do a reverse DNS lookup? Still you wouldn't really know if that is the domain the user really wants. For example I retrieve and send my email from aaa.com, but my domain for my reply-to is bbb.com. Your goal is noble, but perhaps not practical. That is why Outlook Express requires the user to enter their email address when setting up an account. Hope this helps.

The ipod is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -

How can i get the icon in messages where your recipient is replying?
This might not make sense but i'll try my best to explain my query!
Basically i saw on someone else iphone 4s today that when writing a text they had an icon at the bottom which informs them that their recipient is typing back to them! Mine never has done this and i cant find any info about it anywhere on the web?
Would quite like this feature if anyone knows how to get it?

Everytime I try to open firefox on my desktop it says "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article [[Recovering important data from an old profile]]? There are steps in there that might help you. You might just want to create a new profile and start fresh.

With reference to our discussion in the last mails, I was able to install the DB Manager and created the database with the tables.
are any options available to set the created DB as the default DB?
Can we assign persistance field mapping to already crated table without creating a new table from the dictionary? I have been trying it for the last two days; but no favaourable results got yet.
If it is not possible, I have to map each fields of each and every entity beans to the created table in the dictionary. right?

For the children we turned on the restrictions on certain apps/features for iTunes and restricted all access to App Store (kids playing with phone, never know what they might do) but now want it off but can't remember pin? How can I find out about resetting the pin and turning off restrictions?
You can not recover the pin.
You will have to wipe the device and restore as new.
