iPhoto works best when the source (Pictures folder) is on a different disk drive than the iPhoto Library is on.
And you need to have enough free disk space to work with, the faster the better.
Also, do not keep your media folders and those in your home folder on the same drive as the system, also another bottleneck.
Until or unless you have everything on 1400MB/sec SSD PCIe controller, you want
System boot drive
Media and data folders and such
scratch
backup
etc
I put iPhoto on an SSD off an SSD PCIe Sonnet Tempo card
If you stop- it, you will need to trash the Library it was creating.
Reading and writing to/from the same hard drive will be slow.
You don't mention which Mac, or how large you are trying to import etc

Take a look in Activity Monitor. See what the % being used for iPhoto, how many pageouts, how much free space on the various disk drives, and how much RAM do you have installed?

Here to help shed some additional light on this case, jdondr. I also own a Maxx. With your phone, if you access the Gallery, there should be a folder named: Messaging. If you look at the upper left hand corner, you should see a drop down box. Is it currently set to Albums?

Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart. If still nothing, connect to Wall Charger for 10 minutes, iPhone may turn ON itself. If still nothing keep on charger and Reset. It can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger.

Thank you for offering. To the extent possible, I removed all impediments to Firefox from Symantec Endpoint Protection which is what my university uses along with Cisco Clean Agent where I also removed impediments. The problem was not solved. I continue not to be able to use one of my two profiles (the more important one) since I downloaded 4.0 yesterday. Worked fine with 3. every update since 3.0. I still get the same message about being offline and unchecking the box which has never been checked. Still searching for a remedy.
Don't know enough to find which part of the Firefox program in the C drive program files is the culprit, but it is surely somewhere there. Little at a loss as to what to do. Wish I knew of a Firefox whiz or Geek either near where I live or in Frederick, MD; Leesburg, VA or Washington, DC

If anyone has any ideas on how to get this thing turned on it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.
The battery has deep discharged and is now dead. It will never recharge and should be replaced.

Loss of 3G for a few hours and then back to Normal?????

I have a 3GS 16gb phone and this morning, it lost 3G for about 3 hours or so...I called AT&T tech support and they could not do much and thought it may be a SIM card issue.
Amazingly, before i could visit the AT&T store, things went back to normal and 3G service popped up again....
Here's the question: has anyone else experienced such a thing, plus i use a magnetic clasp hip case, in which i carry my phone. Would using such a magnetic case be the cause of this loss of 3G...

This has happened to many people, and it's possible it was a software bug on the iPhone, or that AT&T's 3G network was bogged down and there was a lot of traffic. In all honesty, if it doesn't happen to you all the time don't worry about it.
Anything that is covering up the back of the iPhone is going to lower the signal strength a little bit on the iPhone. I personally wouldn't be using a magnetic case around any electronic device, but that's just me.

The iTunes Store no longer sells games compatible with iPods other than the iPod touch. Applications requiring iOS 4 or newer can't be run on the first generation iPod touch.

I notice that Foxfire 4 sometimes shows 50 to 60% CPU usage for no apparent reason. If I reboot, its back to normal for a few hours. Then the same problem recurrs and I have to reboot again. I have just upgraded to 4.0.1. Don't know if it helps

At the same time, I often see ccsvchst.exe using 30 to 50% CPU to really slow everything down. I checked this with Norton; and they uninstall/reinstalled Norton - three times. I still see this program with excessive CPU usage sometimes. If I reboot, sometimes it helps. Other times, not.

on the Right top is a star for Bookmarks, below that is a green wheel which I thought would be "Tools", but its not. It's 'Toolbar Settings' I can't find the Tools button.

I guess the green wheel might be the "WOT" extension doesn't sound like something in Firefox.

It's a ringtone that you've just purchased, and you downloaded it from iTunes on your phone and the purchase went through successfully (and there isn't a Downloads tab in the iTunes store app with it still downloading) ? It should show in Settings > Sounds > Ringtone (and Text Tone), and in the Contacts for setting for individual callers (tap the Edit button on a contact). If not then have you tried a soft-reset of your phone to see if it shows after the phone has restarted ?

Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if, it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red to delete all apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.
