How do i differentiate the apps that were purchased with my apple id and sync accordingly. As i want only the apps that were purchased in my apple id.
I am aware of the fact that i can click on the app and check with "getinfo" to see with whose apple id it is brought.but there are hundreds app which i cannot check one by one.
How do i filter the apps with apple id and sync?

Connect the device to the computer.
Open iTunes.
Select the content desired to sync.
Sync.

  • Updating apps that were purchased with an old account

How do I update apps that were purchased under prior email account? I no longer have this email address but the app updates keep prompting me for it.

Apps are forever tied to the account used to download them.  That means they will always require it to update. The fact the email is no longer functional has nothing to do with this.
If you still have the password for the Apple ID (not the email account) you can still use it.  You can also go to appleid.apple.com and update the email address for the Apple ID there to a functioning one so the Apple ID remains useable.

  • I got charged five times for apps that were free

I got charge five time for apps that were free. I am frustrated because they have it setup where you can not talk to anyone. Everything is either email or a schedule date far out.

Was this when downloading them, and if so did you change (5 times) your credit card details on your iTunes account ? Each time that you do so a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - your card issuer should remove it within a few days or so.

  • Using a single itunes library with multiple iphones?

My wife got an iPhone 3GS recently and I already have a 4S. I plan to use an existing iTunes install on a single PC to manage them both. I see that Apple support articles say it's worth keeping iTunes libaries separate (with separate Windows user accounts) when there are multiple iPhones using iTunes on one PC.
I like to manually manage music, videos and podcasts in my iTunes library rather than use synching. I like the idea of having a shared pool of music, videos and apps for us both to use. I know apps that are purchased on my iPhone or my wife's are linked to a specific apple ID so that means if she transfers any apps that were bought on my phone originally, her phone will ask her for my apple ID password when they get updates. But sharing passwords with eachother isn't a problem.
I can create a second user account for my wife easily, but I kind of have the feeling I'd prefer to share a single library as I say.
Are there any other reasons I need to keep 2 user accounts and 2 iTunes libraries going when I manually manage the transfer of content?
    Cheers.

Adn this can easily be done.
Move your /Music/iTunes/ folder to a Shared directory (such as /Users/Public/ folder) and everyone can use this single library.
Each user must quit iTunes before the other can open it.
Just hold Shift, launch iTunes, select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder in the shared directory.
The big advantage with separate Windows user accounts, data such as photos, calendars, emails, and everything else will be separate.

  • HT201272 I changed my apple ID and password because my credit card was hacked. Now the apps that I purchased with the old ID cannot be updated, nor can I sync them to my new iPhone. Is there a way I can retrieve apps that I purchased?

I have a different apple ID and password and now I am unable to sync my apps to my new iPhone. How can I retrieve some of the apps that I purchased using the old ID?

Go to Settings>Store (or iTunes and Appl Store) and sign out and sign back in. If problem go to Settings>iCloud and make sure you are signed into the new iCloud account. You may have to create a new iCloud account.

  • I changed my apple id, and now I can't update my apps that were purchased/downloaded from my old apple id....HELP!!

I am getting frustrated because I can't update my apps that were downloaded under the old apple id.  Any thoughts on how to fix this?  I have already tried signing back in under my old apple id and it says that that id is no longer in use.

Applications are connected to the Apple ID that they were purchased/downloaded with. If you updated your ID, you should be able still sign in with that ID, if you are logged into that ID on the phone. However, if you created a new Apple ID, then you would not be able to use that ID to update the apps.

  • Pushing App Store Updates purchased with an Institutional Apple ID

Has anyone successfully found a way to push out App Store Updates in Lion (such as iMovie & iPhoto) purchased with an institutional Apple ID, without providing users with the Apple ID Password?

Try here to change the password. You will probably have to answer security questions that you selected when you created the ID in order to reset the password.

  • Using a single iTunes library with multiple logins.

I've setup my iMac to have multiple logins for everyone in my family. I'd like everyone to use the same iTunes library, though, so that all purchases and playlists can be seen and used by everyone. I have it so that everyone has the same files, but not the same library. That is, the playlists don't come through on the other logins, and purchases made from one login don't translate to another.
I'm not trying to rip anyone off, I just want my whole family to have the same library.
    Is this possible?

    padrepablo wrote:
Thanks much, but I've done that. That method shares FILES but not the LIBRARY
Then you missed a step or two.
The steps above share the entire iTunes library (media, artwork, playlists, library file, Genius files, everything).
In the Music/iTunes folder on everyone's login is a file called iTunes Library.itl.
Yes, and holding Option and selecting Choose library allows you to select which iTunes library you want to use.
THAT is the file I want to share, but I can't seem to move it.
The steps above will do exactly what you want.
All users will use the exact same iTunes library.
You need to hold Option and select Choose library (notice is says, "Library").
Once you copy your /Music/iTunes/ folder to /Users/Shared/ folder, everyone can delete /Username/iTunes/ folder.

  • How to update apps that were purchased by an apple ID that's no longer in use?

My son purchased apps for my iPad and has since changed his Apple ID. The apps won't update because they need me to input his old password for his old ID which is now no longer in use.....how do I fix this?
He's away at college & I am trying to fix this myself. Thanks so much!

I am afraid all apps are tied to the Apple Id that they are purchased with.
    You need the old password.

  • If I delete an iTunes account on my iPhone, will I delete all the songs that were purchased with that account?

I had an Apple ID that was linked to an old email address that was hacked into.  Now that Apple requires a login by using an email address, I had to change the email address/Apple ID on my pc.  My iPhone 4 will not allow me to change the Apple ID to the new ID which ultimately leaves me unable to connect to the cloud as well.  On my iPhone, it gives me the option to delete the account with the old Apple ID, but I am afraid that it may delete all the purchased music as well.  Does anyone know if it will delete my purchased music.  Verizon said this is an Apple problem and not a Verizon issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks,
    Tracey

Yes, pictures in Photo Stream will deleted. Only on photo stream not on iCloud and Camera Roll. You can login again if you want.

  • Apps that were purchased that I did not want.

I recently downloaded the free Netflix app for my iPhone 4, and there seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary. However, later on I noticed that there were three other apps that I never purchased, and were randomly added. One was free, but the others were 9.99 and 4.99. I have no idea how this happened, but looking back at my purchase history it says they were with the Netflix app. I'm not sure what to do, but it would be nice if I got my money refunded somehow.

We are all just users here and cannot help refund your money.
I suggest you contact Apple by using the Report a Problem button that you will find within your account / purchase history in iTunes (click on your account name in the upper right of the iTunes window).
