How do I do the importing.
If the video is already on a DVD:
You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

which is free, but you must also have the Apple mpeg2 plugin :

For the benefit of others who may read this thread:
Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it. See this:

The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.

I have done this, and just to test I bounced the song that has the AI's and waves to Song01. Then I bounced the each channel to an audio file from that Arrangement.
I opened a new template, added the audio files from the previous bounces. Then I bounced that Arrangement and named Song02.
Took both bounces and put into a new arrangement i.e Song01 on channel 1, and Song02 on channel 2. I added a gain Plug-In to Channel 1 and inverted phase. I could still hear my song. I wonder what is up with that?

You should be able to change your e-mail address from your provider ... then edit it to meet the Apple requirements. Unfortunately you've given us no profile details so we can't tell what device you have.

I know many have this issue but i can't find a solution to the problem. i get message saying insuffisiant disk space in the volume iPhoto library and i have plenty of space available. i have the new macbook pro with retina display. i have never seen this message before and i have 2 other macbooks and have had many other also. i am assuming this is a problem with the new macbook retina. does anyone know the exact fix to this issue? i have seen many sugestions to try to fix this issue but none have solved the issue for anyone that i can find in the Apple Support Community. thank for looking into this in advance.
******A true apple fan********Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

I cannot play my rented movie because itunes cannot locate where the original file, has anyone face this problem before? Where can I find the location of the downloaded movie?
What did you use to download it with? iPad? iPhone? Computer?
If it's an iPad/iPhone, play it using the videos app.
If on the computer, look on the left side of iTunes in the library under movies. -
How can I display total playlist size in iTunes 11. It used to be visible for each playlist or CD, but I can't find it now.

Too bad Apple didn't:
Give it a more intuitive name than "Status Bar"... "status" is what is shown at the top of the window along with the Artist and Song Title, e.g.; how far into the song/podcast/video I've played and how much is left,
Put the keyboard commands in a more prominent place in their release notes when version 11 came out so we could more easily find the information they decided to hide in this attempt to make the desktop less cluttered and
Allow us the option of displaying the data size along with the song count and duration just beneath the playllist title. The status bar is a redundant listing of information except for the data size! Poorly conceived!
Perhaps Apple will remedy this in a future release. For those of us who like to burn our playlists to CD, DVD and even a thumb drive this information is essential. WIthout it, we're left to guess whether a given playlist will fit on our target device.

How can I open a keynote file that was made in Keynote Beta and downloaded from the web?
I have Keynote version 5.3
I want to edit a Keynote presentation made originally in Keynote Beta on the web.
When I download it in .key it wont let me edit the file because it says I need a newer version of Keynote.
When I try to download Keynote 6.0.1 I'm told I can't because I need a newer operating system!! I currently have 10.7.5 and there are no new updates.

I've done this before, but now I can't even find an export function. I am on version 9.0.1 on Windows 7. Has this capability been eliminated? I don't want to sync, as I won't be using the old computer any more, and I don't want all of my information out on someone else's server, no matter how secure it's supposed to be. Help?

I'll state right from the get-go, this is NOT a Premiere problem. This is a Windows problem, but I don't know exactly what it is.
Why I'm I posting it here? It's in Premiere that I notice it the most.
I can be watching my playback in Premiere fine and then all the sudden, my playback will stop. At first I thought it was a bug in Premiere, but then I notcied it happening in AE and other non-Adobe programs.
The computer is acting like I clicked away from Premiere, like on the desktop. Playback stops and then I have to click my Premeire window again to make it active and then play again.
This happens every 5 minutes or so (haven't timed it).
When it clicks itself out, it doesn't really go anywhere that I can tell, but something is definitely making my active window/program become inactive.
I'm not sure how to even phrase this question since I don't know what is really going on. But it's driving me crazy in Premiere as I'm in it about 15 hours a day. So it's happening, as you can imagine, 5-10 times an hour during my playack.
In fact, just at this very moment it did it again while writing here. My Chrome page became inactive and I had to reclick right here to continue writing.
Any suggestions on where to even start?
I've had probably 50 computers since Windows 98 and I've never seen this before.If it happens at regularly timed intervals of user input inactivity,
I would suspect a power option trying to spin down a drive
or blank the display.
I would start 'GodMode' and check all of the power options.
Create a new folder, and give it this exact name:

I had an Apple TV that was bricked by an update and had to buy a new one. Will Apple come good?
I had an early Apple TV that stopped working during an update. I took it to the apple dealer where I bought it, and they confirmed that it was no longer working. Because it was beyond warranty, I had to buy a new one. Now learning that updates can damage the unit, I feel that Apple owes me a replacement. I no longer have the old unit. Is there any chance that Apple will credit me for my cost?
Return the new one now. They give you 2 weeks, no quesitons asked to return it if you are not satisfied. Return it at an actual Apple Store and not a dealer. Bring the bricked one to the Apple Store as well, not the dealer, and make a Genius Bar appointment to have it looked at. They will either reset it and make it work or replace it at no charge. Review others' posts on the boards here and you will see many people have done this with no problem. Apple knows it is an issue with this update and they will not let you leave without a working unit.

I have an 'n' version Airport Express (1st Generation) and want to use it to AirPlay music from iTunes on my Mac to my HiFi in the next room. That's all I want to use it for. Have set it up to join an existing wireless network. However it will only work with an ethernet cable connected to the router. Loses the green light when cable is unplugged. As the hifi is in the next room I want it to work wirelessly, otherwise there'll be cables everywhere (as at present - ugh!) What do I have to do? What setting needs to be changed. Thanks.

I have a non Apple, older (Thompson) router. After a factory reset, and when going through the 'join existing network' procedure when sked for the WEP password you need to put a $ before the password...and hay presto...the set up completes and...AirPlay works! I suspect many might not have discovered this page of support information and will have been as frustrated as me for many many hours! -
How do I unlock the screen on my mini Ipad which is stuck on landscape? I have a green tick in 'lock rotation which I cannot remove. it asys 'use slide switch to ......., but where is the slide switch?
What version of iOS do you have on your iPad (Settings > General > About > Version) ? Depending upon the version that you have you may have a Settings > General > Use Side Switch To setting on your iPad :
In the above image the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume control will rotation lock - so putting that side switch 'on' on the side of your iPad will give you an image of 'rotation lock' in the middle of your iPad's screen for a second or so :
and you should get a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator, and putting the switch 'off' will give an unlocked image in the middle of the screen :
and the lock symbol will disappear from the top of the screen.
If you have the 'mute' option ticked on the above image then you will get a bell icon with/without a line through indicating whether you've muted/unmuted notifications.
As there is only one side switch and 2 things that it could control, the function that the switch isn't controlling (i.e. the unticked option in my first image on this reply) will be controlled (if your iPad is on iOS 5 or 6) via the left-hand end of the iPad's taskbar (double-click the home button to open the taskbar and the slide that taksbar to the right), or (if your iPad is on iOS 7) via Control Centre (swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open it) -
