I bought an Apple TV two days ago for a lg tv. We had a blue ray player on one HDTV connection. It was working fine. Unhooked that plugged in the apple and ... Nothing. No Signal. The on light illuminates all cords tight. Do I take it back to store?
I bought an Apple TV two days ago. Followed instructions to hook up and light is on on box. Unplugged working HDTV connection on tv -it has two more unused - and made final Apple TV HDTV connect to tv tight. Flip over from cable and... no signal! I would test it with the tv of friends and or relatives to verify it was broken
(I would do that with all such devices before taking them back)

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Itunes was working fine. Tried to install latest upgrade and get error message about an invalid character in the path "Program Files (x86)". PC, Win7, nothing else appears to be having same issue. Program still works, simply cannor upgrade.

I tried this solution without success. After FixIt ran and didn't find a problem, either in looking for issues with "software upgrade" or "iTunes" it kindly offered to help me uninstall iTunes. I had thought of this as a possibilty but it seems to me that if you do that you lose a lot of "non-native-to-Apple" information you might have entered. I did this once and recovery was painfull. Is there a way to uninstall iTunes without losing all of that sort of thing? Any help would be appreciated. -
I had a case that I drop little juice over my macbook air, I dried it immediately and it keep working fine, as this happen while I am traveling I kept working on it for around two week, it was working fine except that the few key became sticky.
When I back to Jordan I sent it to the authorized support center “ Multivision” in Amman and asked them to help in cleaning the keyboard as it still sticky and I explained to them that the issue and I clarified that all are working fine.
For a two days they didn’t back to me and they answered that they are still checking it, and then after they just called me saying that my macbook is damaged and not working and its better for me to buy a new one!!!
They say that the liquid damaged the main board! I explained to them that this can’t be as it was working fine when I delivered it to them and I didn’t ask them to open it I told them to help in cleaning the keyboard!
I am complaining about this support behavior and they were not cooperative nether polite in communicating.
I am not convinced that the liquid damaged my macbook and I think that the staff at “Multivision” are not qualified and did something wrong to damage my macbook!
I need you help to investigate this issue and have a feedback.Get the new keyboard at eBay and replace by yourself may be cheaper way, though you're required higher skill and well know about MacBook Air.

i had recently followed orders to restore my iPhone 3gs (iOS 6.1) from a question on apple support. However it was working fine before that, it's just that my phone didn't have signal. So it said to restore my iPhone and now it says that the Activation server is temporarily unavailable and when i plugged it into my mac, it said that i ddn't have a sim card installed. What can I do to fix this besides bring it to the store? it also bugs me because this answer was supposed to work but it just messed my phone up even more. We have been having a problem with newsletters for a client.
The newsletter works fine except if we add a button and/or link to the top zone on that newsletter it blows up ONLY ON iPhones!
This happened last month too. It seems to be related to length of the newsletter too. Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. Happened to me once, about 6 months ago, and a reset got it working again.

I just got the Sony BRAVIA 60" Class / 1080p / 120Hz / LED-LCD HDTV and I have a Yamaha RX-V1800. I want to buy and hook up a Blu-ray player to both. What the best way to do this? Should I use the optical audio to connect the Blu-ray to the receive and the HDMI to connect to the TV? I really want to be able to use HDMI for the audio but then I'm left with only component video for the TV. I can't filter the sound through the TV, this does not work. Does optical produce good audio?

You have no idea what you are doing which is why your results are not pleasing. Simply connect the equipment with HDMI cables as instructed and use only Blu-Ray discs as they are full-resolution sources. Your Blu-Ray player applies upscaling and processing to your DVD which is why it looks like crap and your receiver would do the same depending on the settings. You also need to check the settings on your player and HDTV to get them both aligned for the best picture quality.
Well I did use HDMI cables, and I also checked all of the setting on both the receiver and the TV. I did not use a Blu-Ray or player as I have not bought one yet. So are you saying the only way to not get a blur when using this set up would be to only watch Blu-Rays?? That does not make much sense. Also I would like to say I have some idea what I'm doing but obviously not as much as many people on this site, that's why I posted my question here. Thanks though for pointing out the obvious, It was very helpful of you. -
I have experienced issues on certain web sites not being able to open some articles. Everything worked fine until 9/24/12. Perhaps it is related to the software update IOS 6.
The web site I open a lot is Racer X and that is where I have the issues!

If that doesn't help install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

Need help migrating pc to imac. Do not have manual. Trying to get infornation online, but, cannot get an answer.
I have downloaded pc migration assistant to pc windows 8 pro. Was able to get imac to finally give me "the number"
Did the same with pc received number once, not same as imac. Pop up window with info dissappers and cannot recover

You'll want to learn how to retrieve your operating system version and your IMac's serial number as you'll need these for when you call AppleCare:
Click on the Black Apple in the top left hand corner of your Imac's physical monitor
Click on About this Mac from the drop down menu
Below the silver Apple and "OS X" it will say "Version 10.x.x" (If this number is not 10.8.4, run Software Update by hitting the button marked "Software Update")
Click on this number twice in a row. This is your machine's serial number. (zeros can be used; the letter "O" is never used).

Second: this is an educated guess: Your new Imac and your PC need to be either on the same wifi network or you need to connect them physically with an Ethernet cable (available at Radio Shack, Wal Mart, etc). My guess is that they are not, and so your IMac and PC are not talking to each other. That might be why you are seeing a different code on the PC.
Time Machine would not be relevant to your issue. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4796 is the link to relevant instructions, however it left out some housekeeping you should do on your Imac before you begin a migration
Run Software Update on the IMac to confirm that the latest updates are installed.
On the IMac, make sure that you have the latest versions of any third-party software.
On the source Mac, open System Preferences, click Sharing, and make sure there is a name in the Computer Name field.
Do not let either computer go to sleep while you are attempting to migrate. To disable sleep on the IMac
Choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu.
Choose Energy Saver from the View menu.
Adjust the "Computer sleep:" slider to Never. (Change this back after the migration is done).
You can adjust "Display Sleep" to a few minutes - this won't affect the migration
Uncheck the box if checked next to "Put Hard Disks to sleep when possible"

Once you've done this, either connect both Mac and PC to the same wifi network and surf the web with each to confirm that connection is working - or connect them to each other with an Ethernet cable.
Then relaunch Migration Assistant on your Imac and your PC, and follow the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4796 starting with your IMac, or call AppleCare back.
Understand that if you have further issues, you'll need to help AppleCare help you by:
walking them through the steps you've taken in Migration Assistant
letting them guide you as they isolate the issue to either:
The Imac's software
The IMac's hardware
The PC's software
The PC's hardware
Firewall settings (maybe - especially if 3rd party firewalls are installed)
The wifi connection, if used
The ethernet connection, if used
I think the issue is likely what I guessed, or it's a software issue.

I am a technical support professional who troubleshoots Macs all day long. I do this for a living. The book above is the most accurate, and easy to understand book I've seen with respect to using Mountain Lion and its various applications. It's for a MacBook but the focus is on the software which is why I recommend it.
Don't feel like you have to rush to upgrade to OS X Mavericks. In fact, you should always confirm both all the hardware and software you use is compatible with any new operating system before you upgrade. And ask yourself: "why do I need it now?" Because it's new is not a good answer.
In the future, specifying any troubleshooting others have done will help those on these boards help you. Also, don't let a specific issue lead you to assume you've made an all-encompassing mistake. It's just one issue, and it's resolvable.
And everyone else: giving a dozen recommendations for reading will only leave the petitioner bewildered. Start with three. And try responding with a hypothesis as to what's causing the primary problem! -
I have a MBP 5.1 with snow leopard 10.6.8. It has been working fine until few days ago, when it started to have different problems:
1) airport is not working well. it is extremely slow, has difficulties in fully loading pages, looses connectivity, It is not browser related, behaves thesame in safari or firefox; it is not the router/wlan; my husband mbp wifi works fine (as it was mine...) and iphone wifi is also working fine. it sees the signal and different networks. , it is also very very slow in opening skype (after that, it is working ok) if I connect via ethernet cable to the same router, everything works perfectly and with the correct speed.could it be a damaged airport card? a software problem/corruption? logic board? (I hope not, the computer is out of apple care now....)
2) after a certain time (more than hours) of use, the trackpad is behaving strangly, increase sensitivity to touch, unwanted selection of folders, files and text or images in web pages when i move the cursor, the cursor jumping all over the places while writing, ecc I have the impression it starts doing that when I use heavily the CPU ( and the temperature goes up). Is this again a problem of the mother/logic board?
I had recently serviced it since it was not booting properly, but except some permissions repaired, they did noit find anything wrong in the hard drive (which I have now substituted with a SSD) or other hardware.
