I bought and downloaded mountain lion, but it's in my downloads...
...as needing downloaded? I actually just downloaded and installed the update and am running 10.8.1 and it says so under 'about this mac'. I clicked on download and it said that it was already installed, so I cancelled it, and it started downloading! I paused it and now it's waiting for me to resume... What do I do? thanks in advance for your help...I'm a rookie!
The App Store is referring to the "Install OS X Mountain Lion" application, not to the OS you're running at the time.
If you want to re-download the installer, you can. But you can also just ignore it, or hide it, in the App Store.

I need to update to Lion and then Mountain Lion, but I need a CD or other means to update as my internet is too slow and I have a GB limit. Is this possible?
Thanks for your response. I was told, obviously misinformed, that you needed to dl Lion prior to Mountain Lion, so thanks for clarifying that. I cannot dl from the internet as it is too slow and I have limited GB per month. I know, at one point, you could purchase a jumpdrive with Lion for those of us who have this problem or no internet access. I will check into that via Apple or try to borrow internet service from a friend and move my computer there.
Thanks again. -
I just bought and installed mountain lion, and I can't get to sign in to hotmail after several trials. I need help please. Thanks.
so its in a forum, which I didn't stumble upon because it wasn't anywhere in the adobe troubleshooting steps for Windows 8 that automatically came up for me when I clicked that I couldn't see the test flash movie on their site. I guess if I spent another half a day googling I might have found it.
BTW, unchecking Active X filtering in IE10, was NOT the fix. I had to go into the security tab, and change the custom active X setting I listed above. So this link you provided which mentions unchecking Active X filtering was not the fix that worked in my scenario. -

I just bought OS X Mountain Lion, but it won't install. What do I do?
I just bought OS X Mountain Lion on my Macbook Air. A friend recommended it to me, so I downloaded it. She also has a MacBook Air, and on her Mac, it popped up a window immediatly saying that the computer would shut down and download at the same time. But on my Mac, nothing happened. It says that it will be delivered from 18-20th of November. That's not the way it should be. So what do I do now?

I have bought Lion os9 and recieved email with redeemable code from Apple. Went to app store and redeemed purchase. I go to download and it doesn;t work. I click on the product and it says 'not avialable in US Store'. These are the exact instructions on how to get this paid for software, so what now?
Users are reporting around the world that Lion is not available in their country's Mac App Store. Call back the Apple Store, tell them the issue and either get your money back or have them commit to communicate with the part of Apple responsible for having this available for download from the store.

I just downloaded and installed mountain lion but it kept snow leopard on my screen is that supposed to happen or did i miss something?
Then you're good to go. Updating your OS doesnt change your desktop background, you can do that manually, if you wish.

I bought and was downloading Mountain Lion but the download stalled. What do I do?
What do you see in the Mac App Store > Purchases section? The dl could just be paused, in which case you can resume it and carry on.
If it doesn't list it there then search your Mac for the installer incase it finished in the background and didn't start the installer automatically.
Finally, if you don't see it anywhere and you're sure it hasn't finished and actually updated without you realising it, you can email Apple's iTunes support team and they can either put it back in your download queue to try again or regrant you the download so you can 'buy' it again without having to pay.

I had iLife pre-installed on my aluminium Macbook 2009 with OSX Leopard on it. My hard drive broke but got most of the info off it and just installed snow Leopard on to a new drive and then downloaded and installed Mountain Lion over it. Now I don't have iLife anymore. How do I get it back?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Mac OS X doesn't come with iLife applications, so you have to install them manually after installing Mac OS X.
Insert the Applications disc or Mac OS X Install Disc 2 DVD and install iLfe applications. Then, open > Software Update, and install the latest update. If you want, you can purchase iMovie, GarageBand and iPhoto in the App Store, so you will get the most recent version -
I have a mac with a 10.6.8 opperating system and I tired downloading mountain lion, but it will not let me. How do I get my mac to allow me to? I'm pretty sure you have to have 10.7, but I dont know how to download that either
Does your MacBook meet the minimum requirements for Mountain Lion?
Your Mac must be one of the following models:
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009) -
yesterday I downloaded (and paid for) Mountain lion, but got no install screens and OS is still 10.7.
How do I install it?Look in the Application's folder for Install OS X Mountain Lion. Double click to start the installer.

I recently did a factory restore on my imac mountain lion, but when i try to download OS x again apple is not recognizing my id and password
So, what exactly did you do for a "factory restore"? Which method did you try?
Did you go to the app store > Purchases? Is it listed there?
Or, did you try using the recovery method (Command + R keys or Command + Option + R keys while restarting)? Are you able/unable to reach Apple's servers to download the OS? -

i just bought the ox mountain lion and i cant download it!!
Dear Moh Nasser,
Your Apple ID was just used to purchase OS X Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID. You may also be receiving this email if you reset your password since your last purchase.
If you made this purchase, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not make the purchase yourself.
If you did not make this purchase, we recommend that you go to iforgot.apple.com to change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.
Regards,
Apple
