Inserting a SIM card does not lock a phone.
If the device is carrier locked, the only way to unlock it is to contact the carrier to whom it is locked.

You'll have to get a new one from your carrier. I believe the shipping instructions for mail in service explicitly tell you to take it out as you will most likely not receive the same phone back. Apple doesn't repair most phones, they replace them.

iphone 3 dropped in salt water. Appears non-functional - won't turn on. Nothing on SIM card -- had that checked. Is there ANY way to retrieve the photos and contacts. There is no backup of them.
leave the phone in rice for >24 hours to see if it will recover
you can check itunes as well to see if there are backups there from the top of the screen hit edit (itunes on mac) > preferences > devices , and see if a backup is listed
also check icloud.com to see if you had any of the information backed up there (only possible if have have a 3gs or higher)
also there are data recovery companies that can recover data even from wrecked hard drives but its not cheap, if your interested in that I would say lookup a company called drivesavers, I believe they are authorized to work on even in warranty iphones

I have been using the apple IPad camera connection kit and my photos can be viewed in the events... But the all imported folder is no longer there and the last import folder is empty. Is there any way to resolve this and get my all imported folder back? as well as get my last import functioning normally?

If so, when a call is received while listening to music with the iPod, when the call is answered the music should be paused. When ending the call, the music starts playing again from where is was paused.
There is no automatic mute with notifications for received email or messages while on a call and there is no setting for this. -
I used to be able to select an arbitrary "column" in MS Word, but since upgrading to OS 10.9.4 and MS Word for Mac 2001 v. 14.4.3, it doesn't work anymore. Is there any way to get this handy functionality back?

To whom does the email address belong to? Are you sure it wasn't an email address used in the past or perhaps one that had belonged to a friend of hers?
Either way, if the music on her iPod was purchased under an account not belonging to her or you, there is much you can do. Sorry.

We just set up family sharing on our iPads and we all have$50 of iTunes cards that have been placed on our accounts. Why can no one in the family redeem the money from their itunes cards... Instead being charge ONLY to the "organizers" credit card? This is driving us crazy? Now all our Christmas present have gone to waste? Can anyone help?

Family Sharing purchases do all go to the Organizers credit card by default, that is unless there is an existing credit or balance on the account requesting the purchase according to this article:

After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer's card. Yes! Stop using the charger! My husband noticed it was worse when plugged in. One apple guy told me "restore" ... I did all that and it did not help. After I stopped using the charger, it stopped messing up. I used my husband's charger and all is well.
Later, an apple employee told me to bring in the charger for a trade in, because they had a recall on some of them.
I haven't traded it yet, but I plan on it.

itunes only recognises various artists and not the dj who mixed cd, and therefore cannot find the artwork as a result. Is there anyway to solve this as I have quite a few cd's with the same title in this series?
I'm happy to report that Sound Studio has corrected its part of the problem, and an updated version is available on its web site: freeverse.com/soundstudio/
I also discovered that attempts to adjust individual song volumes in the Get Info menu won't work if the Sound Check option is selected in Preferences (duh!).
Further good news is Apple's announcement of an arrangement to offer unprotected versions of BMI music in the iTunes store for an extra 30 cents per song. It would be well worth it, in my opinion, if all the music companies agreed to the arrangement, thereby streamlining the task of transferring problem songs to editing programs like Sound Studio.
One minor glitch remains. To differentiate between original and edited versions of a song, I usually append a number to the name. But when I import the edited version back into the iTunes library, iTunes automatically changes the name back to the original. I can tell the difference by referring to other clues in the library file, but not in the abbreviated iPod menu. I could delete the unedited version from the library or, better, create playlistys consisting of only the edited versions.

Thee can also be a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.<br />
New files will be created when required.

Cannot access local copy of NAS
I can logon to my NAS, however my MacBook pro keeps prompting me to logon to the local copy of the NAS. Then rejects my username and password combo. I no longer know what that combo is. Is there a way to reset this?

Export Image to Clipboard Crash
Has anyone else had any problem with the Export Image when Clipboard is the selected target. It works fine for me as part of the development environment but crashes the program when used as part of a built executable. (LabVIEW 8.5)
