The Mid-2007 model didn't come out until June 2007, so you must have bought an earlier model. It won't run Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.x), but it might run Lion (10.7.x) if you can get hold of a copy, depending on which earlier model it is.
Lion requires at least a Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The first MacBook Pros came out in January 2006, but they had "Core Duo" processors (no "2"). The Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros came out in October 2006. You could have bought either in March 2007.

1. It depends on what Mac model you have. If it's incapable of running Yosemite, installing an intermediate version won't help with that.
2. You'll lose the ability to run PowerPC software, and some other programs may also be incompatible. If something goes wrong, you might lose data; back your computer up first. There aren't any issues specifically associated with skipping versions.

My MacKeeper says iPhoto is out of date. When I try to update it, the App Store says I need IOS 10.9 or later. I have 10.7.5 and when I check for updates my Mac says the OS software is up to date. How do I solve this problem??

I have a 4s iPhone which I loaded the new Os on last night. Now I can not connect to iTunes. A message comes up saying i need 10.6.3 or later but I am running 10.6.1 as I have an older Mac. Anyone have ideas how to get this to work?
Its not telling you to update your iPad, its telling you you need to download a recent version itunes on your computer.

You need to have a copy of Snow Leopard installed to access Lion in the Mac App Store. There's no direct path to upgrade from Leopard to Lion.

I was sent an email which I thought was legit . I opened an attachment (zip file) but nothing in it. I phoned the bank to double check, and of course the email was bogus. How can I tell whether my macbook air version now has a virus?
No Mac viruses are propagated through email.
Be vigilant for suspicious activity as you normally should be, but do not download or install some "anti-virus" utility in an effort to fix a problem that does not exist. That's a well-worn path to certain misery. -
Just got an iPad. I have a PowerPC G4 OS X 10.4.11 at home (Tiger). I tried to sync with my iTunes but it says I need iTunes 10.1 or later. I tried to download the newest version of iTunes and it says I need OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or later. How do I use my iPad without having to upgrade my home G4 to a Leopard?

If it were feasible and affordable, the ideal situation would be to upgrade your Mac - buy a new one with Snoe Leopard on it. That's easier said than done with you having just bought an iPad. But Leopard will be as high as you can go on the Power PC and soon Lion will be here.
I recently (3 months ago) upgraded my Leopard MacBook to Snow Leopard in anticipation of Lion. I love Macs and Apple products, but at some point, as with other tech devices, you have to upgrade to keep up with the technology.

Ahhhh. Well, now you have earned a "Slap Kappy" coupon good for one slap. Expires in 30 days.
The 64-bit kernel thing will leave a lot of use behind. My main machine is a 2006 Mac Pro on which I've spent some money putting in two 4-core CPUs and an ATI 5770 GPU in the past year. If I want to run ML I can't do so. The only options I have for a desktop Mac is either a newer Mac Pro model - post 2007 - used or refurbed or a recent or new iMac. This assumes the Mac Pro line may be dropped. Apple has been very mum on that.
Clearly, Apple wants to get users of older hardware to buy new machines in order to run ML now and in the future. Because it is possible to boot the older models with the 64-bit kernel via some hacking, Apple might have been able to install ML on them by adding some code and retaining 32-bit drivers where needed, but they've chosen not to take that route. I think it's a bit of a marketing ploy to help drive up sales of new Macs, but I appreciate that Apple has chosen to abandon legacy support in the past in order to avoid having an OS like Windows - bloated by support for older and older hardware. -
i was able to print with my acrobat before, but I can no longer do it. the error message says "adobe creation cannot continue because acrobat is not activated" How do I activate it?
I have the exact same issue. I can print one document and then I get the error mentionned above ("adobe creation cannot continue because acrobat is not activated"). Then I need to reboot in order to be able to print a new document.
I have suite and went to Photoshop as suggested, but this program is already activated. I tried to launch Acrobat Pro but it won't.
I'm using the Design and Web Premium CS6 Suite on Windows Vista.

Purchased a early 2008 Mac Pro in 2010. Yesterday I updated my mac to System 10.9 and now I have a dialogue box in system preferences saying I need to update the NVIDIA CUDA drivers but the servers are unavailable. I download a driver from the site but the Mac would not open it. This system has an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB graphics card. What do I need to do. Do I need a new Card?

I've been using the latest Nvidia. There is a method to the madness of how to uninstall/delete and install graphics drivers, or madness in the method. The W7 drivers are easier.
Nope. Something else. More sensitive to disk errors. You aren't running a program to boost fans. Something.
And some AV software is more prone to causing trouble. But all you need is a good AV/malware program, and even Norton AV 2009 is acceptable, or Avast or one of the others.
