I bought my software pack iWork 2008 at the apple retail store and I cannot get any updates and apple App Store won't help me. Does any one know how I can get the upgrade without paying full price for a second time? I paid $99 for the iWork family pcan'

I cannot believe that apple is refusing to help a customer who bought and paid for iWork software just because I bought it from the retail store the App Store says they cannot allow me to upgrade. I have never heard of such. It should to matter where I got it i bought apples software and I don't et how the retail store can be different frothe App Store my god its all still apple. So stupid. I will not pay full price for the upgrade. Also I purchased Logic Studio and 2 days later the upgrade came out and they will not let u upgrade ? I think there should be at Least a 30-45 day window if u purchase software and they release the upgrade u should get not. It's not like apple doesn't make enough money already.

iWork '08 & 09 installed from the retail disk or from the downloaded trial must be updated through Software Update. Those installations will not be recognized as installed by the Mac App Store. In Mountain Lion Software Update has been "rolled into" the Mac App Store. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu just like you always have & the Mac App Store will launch. Depending on what you have that needs updating you may see two sections in the MAS window.
But, as always, if you're not running the latest versions of the iWork apps installed from a retail box or the downloaded trial & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. If you installed from the downloaded trial or the retail box, they must be in the iWork '08 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '08. If it doesn't have the '08 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
If you are running Pages 3.0.3, then you do have the latest version of Pages from iWork '08. If you want to upgrade to iWork '09, you will need to purchase the new version, just like everyone else. The good news is that you can buy just the individual iWork apps - Keynote, Pages & Numbers - that you need or want for $20 US each from the Mac App Store & then install them on as many Macs as you need using the same Apple ID.

I can hold the option key at start up and choose my network, then Internet recovery shows up with an arrow pointing up. When I click on the arrow Internet recovery fails and all I get is a globe with a triangle on it with an exclamation mark on it, and under that it says

I had the same error. And i had a Computer that had worked, with a SSD drive and 16GB upgrade done by the owner himself.
I tried swapping with a Mechinal Harddrive, no luck.
Kept the Mechanical drive in, and tried with some other Ram, it worked..
So for me this error and after reading the other responses can be boiled down to a Harddrive problem or Ram issue.
It was Ram for me..

Are the playlists still on the iPod? If so I can probably cook up a script to read them back into iTunes, or you can check the features of the various tools listed at the end of this user tip to see if you can find one that you want to use.

Apple is keeping that feature for the new iPhone 3GS ONLY.
if you have an iPhone or an iPhone 3G, you will not get this feature.

Yes I have the photos floating but they float everywhere but not with the workspace If I move the work area and the photo stays where it was blocking all under it and as I said the photos tend to over lap into other parts as well when I move it in the work space Yes i know as clear as Mud

Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Just found out I cannot get iPhone unless I pay full price...very upset

My wife and I just went to the Verizon Wireless store and were told that we could not get the iPhone without paying a ridiculous amount of money. I had just assumed that current customers, who had displayed loyalty to their company, would be able to sign up for a new 2 year term to get the device. Have others had this issue? Is there any recourse for this decision?
In my opinion, this is a completely unacceptable decision by Verizon. Basically, I am valued less than someone else who is coming to Verizon new. Had I known when I completed my last upgrade that the iPhone was coming, I would have simply waited. I think Verizon needs to answer for this...

You need to show your loyalty by completing the contract you signed. When did you update your phones... One of you may be able to get one at two year pricing.

Yeah I have the original CDs. And I have backed up some stuff. But shouldn't things like safari and itunes be working anyway? The applications are there, they just won't open. I am currently running two email accounts on my iPhone 4s.
Both accounts have email/contacts/calendar synced to the phone so I can have all contacts on the phone.
I now have to close one of these accounts due to work but I would like to keep all the contacts on the account I am closing, on the iPhone.

I have a new intel imac 20" and have ntl cable modem on a belkin wireless network. I have tryed geting my friend to use aim triton that dose not work I have tryed using msn for mac that dose not work I have tryed aol for mac that dose not work I called tec support and they said to open ports that still did not work I have tryed turning my firewall off still no joy.
I can hold a audio conversation through ichat if my friend uses trillion to log into a aim acount and he calls me I can't call him it just say your buddy declined but the invite never gets as far as him.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
