  • I can't get the latest version of iTunes installed on Mac.

I can't get the latest version of itunes to update correctly. It seems to hang up on installing 2 items, running package scripts.
I've tried downloading through the browser with no luck too. Suggestions?

Have you tried removing your existing version of iTunes prior to doing the install, willie? See the following document for instructions:

  • I can't get the latest version of iTunes 12.0.1 for Windows (64-bit) to work on my laptop.

I can't get the latest version of iTunes 12.0.1 for Windows (64-bit) to work on my laptop. It says it has successfully downloaded and installed, but when I try to connect my new iPhone 6 to iTunes i get an error message 'need to install new software' but i thought i had! Please help me as i have had to connect my phone to someone else's mac and therefor don't have my music etc on my phone HELP!  I have had IT support at work trying to figure it out and no one can!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I can't download latest version of itunes, even i click on the check for update.

Does that install go through properly for you?

    latest version update

Firefox 3.6.23 was just released yesterday as a security update, which is what you have now. Are you looking to install Firefox 7.0?? The updater from 3.6.x version to 7.0 isn't turned on now, you would need to download the 7.0 installation package and "update" that way.
    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
If that is what you want to do, my advice is to wait for 7.0.1 in a few days, which fixes a problem with add-ons being updated along with the Firefox 7.0 update and some add-ons disappearing.

  • Updates: I can't get the latest version of iTunes to download.

It's apparently blocked by an old version of Bonjour as well as some glitch w/ Apple Software Updater. I keep gettting an error message which asks me to install the CD installation disc which makes no sense since it was never insalled that way. I've also tried to uninstall both Bonjour and Software Update, but I get the same message about installing the disc.
    Thanks

I've also tried to uninstall both Bonjour and Software Update, but I get the same message about installing the disc.
That's a rare variation of the "network resource that is not available" messages, I think. (You'll see a thousand of the "network resource" messages to one of the "disk that is not available" messages.)
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Next, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:

Does it go through properly this time?

  • I have OS 10.5 and can not download the new version of Itunes for my new phones. What can I do?

I have OS x 10.53 and my new phones will not recognize the version of Itunes. What fix is there that will allow my phones to work with Itunes? Thanks Ken

It depends on what iPhone you have.
If it's an iPhone 4S or earlier, click here.
If it's an iPhone 5, you need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and that requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB RAM.

    Please help me!!!!

BEfore you try to Restore it, try a simple Reset.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).

  • After downloading the latest version of iTunes and updating my iPhone everytime I turn on my computer I get a message that reads: AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found. Does anybody know what this means?

After downloading the latest version of iTunes and updating my iPhone, everytime I turn on my computer I receive a message that reads: "AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found. The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQlite.dll" Help! Does anybody know what this means and how I can fix it? Thanks.

Yes.  I just solved the problem on my PC.  Here goes...
Issue:  My Windows7 computer was producing the pop up box with the error text as you described.
The Problem: You have another application on your computer that uses the like named .DLL file... in this case a DLL supporting SQLite on your local PC.
    Solution:
    1.  You need to use the Windows File search feature to look for the name "SQLite".  This will quickly locate the offending DLL in the other application.
    2. Decide which program you like the most, in my case "Mobile Me", and uninstall the offending application.
    3.  Uninstall Mobile Me.
    4.  Restart your PC.
    5.  Reinstall Mobile Me.
    6.  Mobile Me should sync at this point, but if not, restart the PC once again.
In my case, the offending program was my Aptana Studio development application.  I had recently the SQLite3 database to my Ruby On Rails configuration...
This is where the file was located:
    C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Aptana Studio 2.0\plugins\com.aptana.radrails.sqlite3.win32_3.5.7.1278709071\vendor\SQLite3.d ll
    I hope this helps,
    Ron

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Open  > About this Mac, and tell us what OS X version you have. If it's 10.8, reinstall OS X 10.8.3 > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1640
If, after reinstalling the update, you still can't use Safari, hold Command and R keys while your computer is starting and reinstall Lion or Mountain Lion
