I can not open my iMovie project
I can not open my iMovie project. Everytime I click on it, the spinning wheel keeps spinning and spinning until I force quite the iMovie. Please help?
OK Let's take a step back.
If you imported video clips from a camcorder there would be an Events folder in the Movies/iMovie Events/ folder.
You have the option as you import from a camcorder to send your Event to an external drive instead. In this case, it would be in the iMovie Events folder at the top level of the external drive.
If your project has no video clips, but only photos, there may be no events folder, only links to iPhoto.
Similarly, if your camera imported your video clips to iPhoto, and you used the iPhoto event in iMovie, then your clips are in iPhoto, and there is no separate iMovie event.

If you used the Finder to move the files, iMovie will have lost track of them. iMovie holds the locations of the Event files, and Project files contain references to those locations. If you move the files, iMovie has no way of knowing where they are.
If you can, first move all the files back to their original locations. Plug in the external drive. Open iMovie and move the files in iMovie's interface (help explains how, but basically, just drag and drop in the event pane).
Then you can connect the drive to the new computer, and iMovie will see them. -
I can't open new imovie project

- Click + for new project then project themes screen opened
- Choose one of the project then click create
- NOTHING HAPPENED.

you can't just move a project that way. It all needs to be contained properly. If you can find the original imovieHD project folder, you can start again.

It sounds like this thread might be answered, but I thought I'd offer a successful test case as my two cents. I just opened an iMovie project that one of our clients dropped off in FCP 5.1.4.
As Da Nam mentioned, open FCP, choose File > Open, navigate to the iMovie Project file and open it. It should ask you to save the new FCP Project file, and perform the rest of the functions for you automatically. (as it just did for me; project, clips and all)
Hopefully this offers a little reassurance.

I can see the icon in my Imovie Projects folder in my finder browser and have managed to copy and paste this file onto my desktop. When I click on the file for this 12:00 fully edited Imovie project it opens up Imovie '11....but the project does not show up. My project was deleted when Imovie unexpectadly quit about an hour ago and I had been working on it for the past several nights putting in many hours of editing. I am now sleep deprived, extremely confused, and I would love ANY INSIGHT. I still have all of the video footage in my Imovie library.....but to re-cut/copy and edit the video that I am trying to recover would take quite a while once again.....and time is precious.
This file will not open unless it is in the Movies/iMovie Projects folder. iMovie will not open it from the desktop.
I am confused. If your project is deleted, how did you copy and paste it?
My suggestion would be to close iMovie and trash your Preferences file. It is possible that only your preferences file was corrupted and the project is OK. (But no promises.)
To trash the preferences file, see this user tip. Let me know if you have questions. You may want to go to iMovie/Preferences and note your current settings. You will need to re-enter these after you trash your preferences.

Just installed Premiere and can not open a new project, database error
Everytime I try to open a new project i get a Database is "Failed to perform the database operation as the Organizer database is busy. Please try again later."

Of prime importance...what version of Premiere Elements are you working with and on what computer operating system is it running on?
So, right now a lot of generalizations
1. Close all opened projects and programs.
2. Right click the Taskbar at the bottom of computer desktop to bring up Task Manager/Processes. Look for and End Process for any traces of Premiere Elements and/or Elements Organizer whose process remained opened after you closed the program.
3. Open Premiere Elements to its Splash screen where hopefully you will see tabs for Organizer and Video Editor. Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys of the computer main keyboard (altogether) as you do a left mouse click hold down on the Organizer tab for about 15 seconds. After that time, release just the mouse click hold down. Wait for a message about deleting the preferences/settings file. Click Yes to the message that should appear. Unhold the Ctrl+Alt+Shift, and then click on Organizer or Video Editor and try to open the Video Editor or Elements Organizer sections of the program without error.
4. Did that work for you? If not, please supply more details.

I had made a great project, when I quit, because it automaticzlly saves, but then when I reopened it, it wasn't there anymore.
I then searched for it in the top right search tool and found it, but when I try to open it, it just opens the last thing I was on.
How do I get it back?

Not necessarily. If your External drive is formatted for PC, then many small files may perform OK, but large projects like iMovie would certainly misbehave.
Check the format by clicking its icon, then going Command+I (get information).
There you will find the format. If it is not Mac OS Extended, then your drive would have to be re-formatted (you would need to store important files elsewhere during that process. Re-formatting is accomplished in Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility. -
Premiere CC will not open 5.5 projects. Why?
I have puechased CC and can not open 5.5 projects. Why? Why do you offer chat when no one ever answers? Why do you spend so much time and money to avoid at all cost actually helping your customers?
It had nothing to do with it. The only thing that worked was building the C drive all over again. I whiped it clean. Then we tried to close caption, something we just got working before this happened and now of course it does not work well. We get skip frames all over the place. All the settings that fixed problems before do not seem to work. I guess this discussion was about opening a 5.5 project so I will post my problems with BMD and close captioning in a new post ( ok why did adobe call this version CC, did they not know that was the industry short form for close captioning, duh)
Claims that Pemiere CC and 5.5 cans exist on the same computer are false. Claims that Premiere CC does not need a Clean install of windows are false.
My proof, three completely different systems, System A: works but i have no avi export, System B: works but i have no avi export, System C: The system discussed above, needed to be wiped to work.
3 of 3 of these systems had previous versions of Premiere on them before Creative Cloud was installed. All 3 sytems also got that very annoying "bugs and patches update could not install" thing from the Creative cloud download ap. Why adobe can not provide a manual download for those suffing from this affliction is beyond me. To cheap i guess. -
Can not open imovie ios project in imovie osx
hi i have importet my edited imovie project from my ipad mini to my imac.
I would like to edit more on my Imac, but when i trry to open the file, i get the message:
"This version of Imovie can not import this imovie to iOS-project"
Not further options or possibilities.
I have recent update of Imovie 11 on Imac, in on 10.7.5 (lion) and my imovie on ipad is also updated.
Im kind of stranded here, does anyone have an idea to a solution.?

If your operating system is up to date and you have the latest version of Quicktime, you should have no problems at least opening the software.

You also may want to uninstall and reinstall the program, just in case somethign didn't take the first time.
BTW, have you really got a 1 terrabyte drive that's already got 700 gigabytes filled on it? That's a lot of data! -

final cut pro x - lion - mbp 2011 2.0 15 - not responding at all since latest update. Can't open or edit projects, loading window that pops us when you click the app (as it loads) does not go away, says loading compressor support, paralyzed. Have tried reinstalling, default settings etc

When I used Cleanmymac software uninstall Aperture,Fina Cut Pro and Motion, iphooto ,imovie and iweb can not opan.
1,after i reinstall ilife11,updat, iphoto can use.but imovie and iweb still can not open.
2. then i restarted, When i try to open imovie and iweb,i can not see any dialog box and imovie and iweb as runing already,i can use menu bar of imove.
3,i try to "Shift+command+V" restarted. it does not work.
4, then,i use software updat,it show no upadat, i install the update file of ilife 11 download form wwwapple.com.
5,I set up a new user and try in the new user,it still in vain.
6,I repair disk limits of authority. can not open.

I just tried to open my last Soundtrack Pro Projet and I got this message : "NS InternallnconsistenceException Invalid parameter not satisfying:m_splitViewer". Curiously, I can't open any other project. Help! Please!
Did this just happen after upgrading to 10.9?
Try using Preference Manager by Digital Rebellion (it's free) to delete your preference files for Soundtrack.

when i deploy Lotus Portlet into AS 10g Portal, it can work ok, and display some mails in portlet, but when i choose custimized icon and change nothing and submit ok, it has following error, when i click refresh icon, it can ok. who has idea for this

After restart, desk top display vanished; how do I get it back?
I restarted Mac Pro, OSX 10.8.4 and the desk top screen vanished. Click finder icon and it returned. How do I get it back to automatic display of all folders; etc. without clicking finder each start up?
