I can't compile any project...

Hello,
I installed Alchemy correctly, but when I try too compile my project, I always get this error message :
I don't understand why, since llvm-stub.exe is in the same folder as llvm-ld.
I'm using Alchemy with Cygwin btw.

I'm not to familiar with fmod, but it would look like from the web page that it's a library (in windows it would be a dll I asume) that you can make calls to. If that's they case, Alchemy is not for you.
Alchemy does not do anything that you can't do in the FlashPlayer / Air runtimes.
Alchemy does not generate platform bytecode.
Alchemy does generate FlashPlayer bytecode.
Alchemy does not get arround the FlashPlayer sandbox.
Alchmey let's you port C/C++ code and turn it into FlashPlayer bytecodes.
If you have the sourcecode for fmod and you wish to compile the sourcecode, you can, but you will NOT have direct access to the hardware, that goes against the principle of Flash security sandbox.
That said... there are future things comming up, which I unfortunately can't disclose, that might help you with that plan in the near future, but it sounds like you have the wrong concept of what Alchemy is.
Whatever problem is that you are having, it's in your setup. There is no "magic", it works out of the box if you follow the steps properly, so if you did, then it might be something in your system that is causing the conflict.
As an observation:
if you get a "The file exists" error when you are creating the symbolic link, then that's probably your problem.
As stupid as this sounds, make absolutely 100% sure that you DID remove the llvm-stub.exe file before you create the symbolic link again, and make sure that you are in the right directory when you do so. You should NOT get "The file exists" error when creating the link.
BTW. that would have nothing to do with Alchemy, but more with cygwin.
You have no idea how many IT certified [InsertWhateverHere] experts have I told to check the basics, which they asure me they have, and when I go step by step, it turns out to be something basic.
Sometimes you are looking to blame something else, and miss the obvious.

Premier Element 8 can't open any project on Windows 7

Once again my Premier Element 8 can't open any project on Windows 7 (64-bit). This is same problem that happened to me 6 months ago. I reported it to the online Adobe support, but got no help. Eventually I worked around it on my own. Now the problem is back and I can not open any project, even after rebooting. The behavour that I see is that I can open a new or old project, but the Premier window shows-up as having zero size. The bug has something to do with the Premier program thinking that the window size should be zero. The program shows-up in the active task list, and the Alt-Tab key shows Premier window has only a window title bar (where as other active programs show-up as a thumbnail image of their window contents), and the system taskbar also shows the Premier program as active but only as a window title bar (see attached image below)
When I reported to the online Adobe support forum 6 months ago that I had worked around the problem, the answer was something like "good that you fix it", BUT Adobe did not seem to be interested in understanding and fixing the problem. They just seem relieved when customers can figure-out work-around on their own. I see that another peron just reported this same problem on the Adobe forums, and got the same treatment. He also found a work-around, and the support person replied when "that's nice". This really bites me where it hurts. I'm burning non-productive hours because of their bugs, and they don't care enough about the bugs to get engineering to fix them. It's things like this that make me look for another software vendor.
But today I really do need to work on my video project. If there is a document work-around for the "Premier show a zero-sized window" bug, PLEASE let me know about it.

Thanks for looking at this on Saturday, and for your question. What I mean by a "zero sized window" is that Premier's window has been created and the program is running, but when I give Premier focus nothing is shown on the screen. I know the program is running because I can see it on the Windows taskbar, in the Alt-Tab list, and in the task manager's list of running programs. When I use the Windows taskbar to alternately show and hide the window, it behaves normally, except when I show it nothing shows on the screen. Also, when Premier starts up, I do see it loading the project, but when the project loads the window disappears. Premier has this annoying design of starting with its window maximized, and then automatically resizing the window to what it thinks is the size that I want. When the bug is active, the size seems to be zero, or minimized, or off the screen, or who knows what. Just not anything that I can see. The little thumbnail that Windows 7 shows of running programs on the taskbar makes be think the window has been resized so that it is zero pixels wide and zero pixels high.
In my earlier report of this bug, I described it as "minimizing to the taskbar" because that is what it appeared to doing at that time. Here is a link to my earlier report:

That thread has screen snapshots that show the visual atrifacts of the bug on Windows 7. I experienced the same bug again this morning. The workaround that I had done last year did not work this morning. Here is what I did to recover this time:
Uninstalled Premier Elements 8. Deleted my personal setting, and also "smart sound".
Rebooted my PC.
Installed Premier Element 8 from the CD.
Rebooted my PC
Things were still not quite right. In fact the bug appeared to still be there, but all of a sudden it started showing me the window after the project was loaded. Sigh. I will never launch that little startup program again (the one behind the desktop icon), and only open ".prel" files directly. Not sure if that will help or not, but at least it takes one variable out of the startup procedure.
I wish that I could tell you how to reproduce the bug, but in fact I do not know what I do to provoke it. My PC is
- Dell XPS9000 (Intel i7, 3.33GHz, 12GB ram, 4.5 TB disk)
- Windows 7 Ultimate
- Two 24 inch LCD displays
- Runs several Adobe programs (like PS, LR, Acrobat).
Don't get me wrong: I love Adobe software. You are the best in the graphic arts industry. That's why I buy and run your stuff. But when I have a deadline hanging over my head, and I have to spend 1/2 day getting the software to just come up, I get crazy and want to herd feed animals for a living! Maybe I'll have to do that if the economy does not improve in 2011...

Premiere Elements 8 can't open any project

Hello,
I am running Premiere Elements 8 (fully-paid version) and trying to open a project which I created last night. But I'm finding I can't open any project. On the welcome screen, when I click on "Open Project", I get a pull-down menu (as expected):
But no matter what option I select (even "Open..."), I get the same result: The "Open Project" button turns into a wait-bar for a minute or two:
...and then "Open Project" simply reappears without anything else happening.
I also tried a different approach, going to the .prel file in Windows and double-clicking it. But again, nothing happened.
My PC is running Windows 7 Home Premium. The hardware is a 64-bit, HP p6310y with an AMD Athlon II X4 630 processor, 2.8 GHz, with 6 GB of RAM.
Any suggestions?

I have the exact same problem as you with PE8 and Win7 (x64), and a reboot also helped me. But the problem came back the next time I tried to open PE. Have you expreienced the same? It cant be that we have to reboot every time we want to use PE?

Urgent! Pls help me! Can't compile any *.java files

I am a new user to Java2SDK. I am using Win2K sever and I have installed Java2SDK1.4.0 in D drive. When I compile any *.java files, a message " 'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file" appears. How can I solve this problem?

In your PATH variable include %JAVA_HOME%\bin;

[SOLVED] Can't compile any kernels or modules

I can't compile the kernel, or any kernel modules. I tried the [core] kernel from ABS and the linux-ck kernel from AUR. I also tried to build vhba and nvidia modules.
I tried the standard cflags and many others.
All kernel compiles fail (immediately) with:
scripts/mod/empty.c:1:0: error: code model kernel does not support PIC mode
/* empty file to figure out endianness / word size */

edward_81 had the same problem, with a default makepkg.conf and linux-mainline, which was never resolved.
I don't know why this file is being compiled in PIC mode. I have not explicitly enabled PIC anywhere I know of. I checked everywhere I know to look.

Can't start ANY projects in Compressor. New or Old.

Here's my problem:
I open Compressor, and it doesn't automatically open a new batch window like it's supposed to. So I click File>New Batch. Nothing happens. Everything in the Job menu is grayed out and I can't import any new media or even open previous Compressor projects. I've trashed the preferences, cleared the Qmaster cache, and removed and reinstalled Compressor, Apple Qmaster, and Motion and I still can't get it to work.
Any ideas?

When you say "new or old" do you mean, Compressor 3 and 3.5, or new and old Compressor projects?

I need to update the sdk and all, and did a test.
When updating created a simple design and time to compile the following error occurs:

I use this command to compile:
adt -package -target ipa-app-store -provisionig-profile ****.mobileprovision -keystore ****.p12 -storetype pkcs12
****.ipa ****-app.xml ****.swf
It asks for pass and i input, i test too without pass with anothe p12, same error.
And yes, i use provisioning and p12 in distribution mode.
I export swf release mode in windows and compile in Mavericks.

Let me give more details.
I exported the swf in release mode by FB4.6 but as my is the 32-bit
have to build on a machine 64 for the new compiler work, so I thought, since I have the mac and use only to send to App store, so I thought ... I will build there, then this error occurs.
I borrowed a machine with windows 8 64bit and compiled the same swf smoothly, generated just right .ipa in ad hoc mode.
So I agree that changing as you said can run but can be something in the same compilation ... or not?

Can't compile any JSP : method handlePageException(...) not found

I installed JDev 9.0.3 yesterday, it did compile my JSP pages, but today it won't, even after reinstalling it.
I get the following error messages for every page :
Error: method handlePageException(java.lang.Throwable) not found in class javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext
Error(16,45): method doAfterBody not found in class org.apache.struts.taglib.template.InsertTag
Error(16,93): variable EVAL_BODY_AGAIN not found in interface javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.BodyTag
Does anyone know what this could mean ? I have added all libraries in the project's "library" tag, to no avail.

I tried making a new page with JDev's wizard : File -> New -> Web Tier -> JSP -> JSP Page. This minimal page contains only a "hello world" message, and has got no taglib. I still get :
Error: method handlePageException(java.lang.Throwable) not found in class javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext
when I compile it.
j2ee.jar is in Path and libraries ; my libraries are "JDev Runtime, JSP Runtime, Oracle XML Parser v2" and a bunch of our libraries.
Any ideas ?

Can't find any project/backup after updating to Mavericks

Hello,
I've updated to Mavericks and my project disappeared from FCP, I've found the folder in Documents\movies, with the name of my project but it appears there's no project library in there, there's a folder called backup with .fcproject file, but not able to restore.
Can someone give me some help on how I can restore the project?

Can't burn any project anymore

When I hit the "Burn"-button, this text appears:
"The current state of the project does not comply with the CDDA format.
Please check the following and try again.
Each track must be at least 4 seconds long.
A CD track can consist of up to 98 index points.
The time between two index points must be at least 1 second long."
I have never seen this before, and it appears in all my project all of a sudden.
Anyone?

I have written a program in Labview 7.1 for windows XP. Some costumers are interested to run this software under Linux Ubuntu. Can I write programs in labview on a windows-pc and from there build a application to run under Linux ?

No, each operating system uses a different type of executable. There is a different LabVIEW Run-Time engine for Linux, Windows, and Mac. Any installer you build will only run on the OS that you built it on. However, any VI that you create can be opened and run on a different operating system if you have the development system.
Finally, the only way to deploy a LabVIEW application on a particular operating system is to use the Application Builder for that operating system.

Interesting. I've not tried 2.6.32.3 yet, but I do have a custom kernel 2.6.32.2 as well as the ARCH kernel. Your make output seems to be unhappy with a missing script called pnmtologo.
These files exist in my source trees:

/usr/src/linux-2.6.32-ARCH/scripts/pnmtologo
/usr/src/linux-2.6.32-ARCH/scripts/pnmtologo.c
/usr/src/linux-2.6.32.2/scripts/.pnmtologo.cmd
/usr/src/linux-2.6.32.2/scripts/pnmtologo
/usr/src/linux-2.6.32.2/scripts/pnmtologo.c
Look to see if these files exist in your 2.6.32.3 tree.
If they are missing from the tree, you might try symlinking to these files elsewhere on your system (YMMV)
You might also try turning off the logo options in your config file. It might work.
This looks like it could be a bug in the packaging, but since you are using source from kernel.org it seems unlikely.
If the files do exist in the tree, it could be a permissions problem.
Based upon what I see, I assume you are expecting the Tux logo, not the Arch logo.
