I can't find all my music!
Hello, i've run through two weird issues on my iTunes for PC (for months).
First, when selecting the folder containing all the (sub)folders with my music within to import it in iTunes, only a small portion (not even 25%) is added. But when I select a folder which contains a small number of tracks and repeat the operation several times, there, it gets done well! Weird, uh!
Then, on a Windows OS, compared to the Mac, when I move a music file (added in iTunes), in another folder, I won't be able to play this file again in iTunes unless I re-add it and (it will be shown two times on iTunes, the first version won't be findable, the second and last is the one just re-added). Thus simply moving all the music files of my iTunes library in another folder would result in this simple fact: i'd have to delete my iTunes Library and import again all the music files since iTunes couldn't find them anymore! iTunes on Mac doesn't do that... Why?
Thank you

Hi, My N82 can't find all the music in my memory card what could be the reason and what can i do?
Do you mean that after you refresh your music player library not all of the files you've copied to the phone are found?
If so, the most likely explanations are either:
1) you've copied the files to a "hidden" directory, in which case your best bet is to move them to \Sounds\Digital
2) the files you've copied are not of a compatible type - this would be kinda unusual as the phone supports most of the common types like mp3, aac, m4a etc. If this is the case, then your need to convert the files to a compatible type. A quick google will find lots of software to convert between different file types, many of which have a free trial period. -
I have a big problem, I don't know what I touched but when I open up my iTunes I can't see all the icons. The only icons showing are "podcast, iTunes U and Downloads" so in other words I can't find the movies, music etc. Which means I can't buy/rent!
Not all content types are available in all countries - in each country Apple can only sell what they are licensed to (and in some cases what a country's laws allows them to). A list of what is available where is shown on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3599

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Have you looked in home videos -
Can only find recently added music in my Itunes library. Can't find any of my music I added awhile back? I think my old music is on icloud, but don't know how to access it?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device -
How can I find all exclamation marks in my iTunes without clicking on each song? Can they be deleted all at once instead of one song at a time?
Lost & Found
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist (it may take some time to count the tracks that are to be dropped). Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist.
Optional: It depends a bit on why things aren't where iTunes expects to find them but if they are in sensible Artist & Album folders in some common location then my FindTracks script should be able to reconnect them to iTunes. FindTracks uses some fuzzy matching routines and searches for multiple potential locations. For more details see this thread. Once you have repaired the tracks that can be found you can drag the contents of the Lost playlist into Found which will update things.
Or, you can simply delete all the tracks in the Lost playlist with Ctrl-A to select them and then Shift-Delete to delete.

How do I activate iTunes Match on Apple TV? Just signed up for it but can't find my uploaded music on Apple TV. It works on my phone and ipad.
Ive had to reboot my Apple TV before I had the option to enable iTunes Match but it did not see my music library. I tried a second reboot and it still says my music library is empty. Its been several days and I can access my library on a Windows PC, my Mac and my iPad so Im all synced up, my Apple TV apparently just wants to be stubborn.

I just got my new Ipod replacement and I can't find my purchased music.
I just received my Ipod Nano replacement. Itunes comes up but I can not find all of the purchased music that I have purchased over the past 5 years. How can I get that back?
It should be in your iTunes library and the backup copy of it that you maintain.
You can (probably, though it depends on your region) download previous purchases from iTunes in the cloud. Open the iTunes Store page in iTunes and click the word Purchased then Not In My Library. Select All Songs and then Download All. It will take some time I guess...
When you're done downloading, make a backup!

How do I get itunes do find all my music?
iTunes cannot locate multiple files from my library; they have not moved or changed. How do I get itunes do find all my music again. There are over 15,000 songs in my library - about half have an exclamation mark in my playlists.
Hmm, not sure I understand how that might have happened. It seems as if the media folder has been pointed to the wrong level, put in a pre-iTunes 9 layout and then updated. All the <Artist> folders should be moved from iTunes to iTunes\iTunes Media\Music. Assuming iTunes moved the files around the filenames should be as expected. WMP, for example. might use different character substitutions for illegal characters and can user longer file and folder names. If anything remains broken FindTracks can take up the slack.

I had to get my hard drive replaced from Apple, I lost all of my music obviously. My question is, how can I get all my music off of my iPhone onto iTunes? Since it's a new hard drive, the iPhone isn't recognizing this as it's home computer.
You will need to use third-party software to transfer music from your phone to the iTunes Library. I recommend Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac | Macroplant.com.

I have an ancient laptop (from 2005) that has my entire music library. This laptop barely works and some keys don't type anymore. How can I get all this music transferred to another computer, or available to me on the cloud?
No... do not move programs.
About the iTunes library files
Your iTunes library files track the media you add to iTunes, how you've organized it, and other information such as playlists. By default, these two files are in your iTunes folder:
Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music/iTunes/
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Windows Vista: C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\
Windows 7: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\
Windows 8: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\ -
When synching, itcomes up with an error message saying it can't find all the songs. When I check, library has songs listed but with a "!" bubble next to them. When I click on them they play. What am I doing wrong? This happens every time so I click them and it sorts them (boring with 200 odd). How can I prevent this?
Once you successfully add you iTunes library to iTunes Match, you go to Settings>iTunes & App Store on your iOS device and turn on iTunes Match. Your iTunes Match library will then appear on your iOS device.

Hi, do you know how can I upload inelegible songs from itunes to Icloud. They are songs added from original CDs. Another question would be how can I transfer all the music I have in my Ipod Classic to my Itunes or ICloud as I want to back it up.
Depends on why it's ineligible. If it's under 96 Kpbs, try right-clicking on the file and choosing Create AAC Version. (If you don't see this option, go to iTunes>Preferences, click "Import Settings..." then choose "Import Using: AAC Encoder" and "Setting: iTunes Plus".) Then rescan your library to see if this version will add to iTunes Match. Or, after changing your import setting, just re-import the song to your iTunes library.
If the song is over 200 MB you would have to reduce it's size to make it eligible.
