Very sorry, I misread, as the AppWorld missing icon has been prevelant for many, and I jumped in with that solution too quickly.
    Do this,
from your Options > Device > Application, scroll to and delete BBMessenger.
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
The, after reboot, using your BlackBerry browser, go to www.blackberry.com/bbm and download/install again.
Again, my apologies for the initial misunderstanding.

  • [SOLVED] Can't find root partition after upgrade

After upgrading to Linux 3.6.6, the boot fails with something like "can't find root, UUID=..." and I get a root shell. Choosing to recovery mode in GRUB doesn't make a difference.
I don't have any sda devices in /dev.
    /proc/partitions is empty.
    I have Macbook Pro 7,1.
    Ubuntu on other partition works.
Any idea how to fix this?

I don't use these either ... but this does sound like a very plausible cause of this error.  Are you sure you aren't using either?
In any case, it's easy enough to add them back and see if that solves this.  Boot into live media, chroot, add back the modules to mkinitcpio.conf and rebuild the initramfs.  If nothing else this would verify that these are not the problem.

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
Your system details don't mention what type of Mac you have, but if you can move it near to the AirPort Extreme and connect an Ethernet cable to a LAN port on the Extreme, then AirPort Utility should be able to see it. Once AirPort Utility can see it you can begin to investigate the problem in more detail.

  • Where can I find a document after upgrading to the most recent OS on my iMac?

I upgraded my OS yesterday on my iMac and now I can't find the most recent version of an Excel document.  I saved it as recently as yesterday when making changes but the document that shows up is from 9/10.  Any ideas where I might find it?  I've already done a search, etc.

Command-f (Apple-f) will open a find window-click to find everything modified yesterday.

  • Can't find last .prprj after upgrading to CC 2014, is it permanently lost?

My computer crashed, but managed to keep all of my personal files.  I redownloaded Adobe softwares but had to now get CC 2014.  Besides the initial compatibility problem I faced with having a new version, I have had to find the last saved instances for several unfinished projects, to get back to the last edit.  With one project, I can't find the most recent auto-save, if I can't find it I've lost over ten hours of work.
Any chance I find the last save?  I've searched all auto-save folders, seemingly running out of options here.  Any help is really appreciated!

Honestly, this hasn't been the first time I looked for an auto-save, and it stems from a time when I reopened a project once and found that it did not have the last sets of edits from the last time the project was worked on.
I resolved the problem by going to my auto-save file, or so I'm thinking now: the reopened project did not have the Sequence I had last worked on opened, and panicked without verifying whether the Sequence file was sitting alongside the other files.  That is what happened this time around.  I have multiple sequences, and only one that is short was on the timeline.  The others are hidden in a Sequence Bin, it was there all along.
As for backup files, I have all the original video files backed up on a separate hard drive.  Please let me know if you think I should take further steps.  Thanks!

  • Can't find FCPro serial number; upgraded to Lion

Eek.  Lost all the dicsc, etc., and now that I've upgraded to Lion, Final Cut Pro is asking for my serial number.  And I don't know it.  Any suggestions?

Either call apple or give up the business. If you can't keep track of a thousand dollar set of disks, what's next?  Client's irreplaceable footage?  A rented RED camera?

  • Can't log into contacts after upgrading to lion

I upgraded to Lion the night before last. Now when I try to open my contacts i get a message that states. " You cant use this version of the application address book with this version of MAC OS X". It then states "you have address book 4.1.2..
So my question is how do I find and download the right address book version that works with Lion?

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
    First, empty the Trash.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it, then drag or copy it — do not type — into the Terminal window:
    find . $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 -o -acl \) 2> /dev/null | wc -l
Press return. The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
The output of this command, on a line directly below what you entered, will be a number such as "35." Please post it in a reply.

  • ITunes can't find my playlists after upgrading to 10.3. Help!

iTunes automatically upgraded to 10.2.2. When it finished, none of my data was visible. No music or play lists.
After checking the web, it was suggested up re-boot the computer. Didn't change anything.
Another suggestion was to re-install iTunes. When I did so, it showed 10.3 available. So I downloaded and intalled that. Still no existing information showing.
So I had iTunes search for my music. It found some/all of it. Haven't checked yet.
But NO playlists. Is there a way to find them and load or am I just screwed by the upgrade and have to start over?
Thanks for any help you might have on this.
    Thanks!

I would recommend you put everything including th eiTune slibrary files into the iTunes folder on the external.
This way, you will not have any issues when moving th eHD anywhere else. The entire library will be on it.
    Quit iTunes.
Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ from yoru internal to the external.
Move your current iTunes media folder on the external into the /iTunes/ folder you just copied to the external.
    Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select the iTunes folder on the external.
Now you can plug in the external to another/new computer and launch iTunes holding option as above and everything will be there.

  • Can't find a folder after upgrading to maverick and still have the previous OS

    Hi,
Last night I upgraded my mac to maverick...my previous OS was in Disk C and since it was showing that disk is full i had to put maverick in disk D..so i have two disks with OS that means less space for my personal use....also while putting maverick in D I already had a folder containing movies in it...When i am searching in spotlight i can get the movie but am not able to find it without it....Also how do i get rid of the previous OS and should i do that??

    ishica ghosh,
it sounds like what you’re calling your Mac’s internal space is what I’d call your Mac’s internal hard drive, and what you’re calling your three separate disks are what I’d call three partitions of your internal hard drive.
Let’s begin by approaching these aspects one at a time. On my Mac’s internal drive, only 22 GB of space is being used in total, including Mavericks and perhaps a dozen apps. If your Disk C has been sized to be 119 GB but it is mostly filled up, then it seems as though you must have significantly more apps or data installed there than just your old OS. Do you have more than one administrative user and one standard user under your old OS?
Here’s something that you can try to find out the amount of space that is being used by the user accounts on Disk C: boot into the old OS by holding down an Option key as you power up, use your cursor keys to select the OS on Disk C, and press the Return key. Log in as its administrative user, and from the Finder press Command-Shift-U to open the Utilities folder. Run Terminal.app in that folder. Within the Terminal window, give it the following command:
    sudo du -sm /Users/*
This command will ask you for a password; give it the administrative user’s password. The password will not be displayed as you type it. Please copy the output from this command into your reply.

  • ITunes can't find my music after reinstalling iTunes 10.5

    Hi All!
I thought I'd post this to help out others that may be having the same problem.
Background: After doing a System Restore on my Dell (Windows XP) I couldn't use iTunes because a "system folder is missing".
So I uninstalled iTunes (first copying all my music to an external hard drive just in case) and then installed iTunes 10.5 (32 bit I think). All that went smoothly, but when I opened iTunes every song had an exclamation mark next to it. After reading through a number of other posts I came up with the following solution.
First I used Windows Explorer to see if my music was still in the iTunes folder (My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music) which it was. All the album folders with all the songs in each.
Next, in iTunes, I clicked Edit>Preferances>Advanced, and it showed the path to the folder location
    (C:\Documents and Settings\RedEft\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media),
but since it didn't "see" my songs I thought it didn't recognize my "Music" folder, so I edited the path by adding "Music" to the end.
    Like so: C:\Documents and Settings\RedEft\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music
iTunes then chugged along for a few minutes and recognized about 1/3 of my music.
So I clicked on a song that still had an exclamation mark next to it and the pop-up window said "The song 'xxxxx xx xxxx' could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" I clicked on locate and found the song, then I did it for one more song and a pop-up asked something like "Would you like to locate more music?" I clicked the yes option, and to my surprise it found almost ALL the rest.
    Victory!!!
Now I'm just missing one album and one song from another album.
Where, oh where, could they be? I'm hoping they're on my external hard drive and I'll just have to do a copy and paste.
    Hope this helps someone.
    Peace
    RedEft

  • ITunes can't find my music after Move2Mac

Just moved all my files from my old PC to a new iMac using Move2Mac software
The music files (about 2,300 tracks)all came over and are stored in same folder/file structure as I had it in my PC, but iTunes on the iMac isn't showing any of it in the library, all I have is 2 music files which I transferred earlier via the network.
I tried 'Consolidate Library' thinking that would enable iTunes to find the songs but nothing appeared to be happening, so I went into one of the music folders and clicked on the song to make sure the music was actually there
Now when I put the mouse over the iTunes window it shows the rainbow coloured wheel that shows it is doing something (this has been going on for 12 hours now)I can still use other applications on the mac, but i can't even close iTunes down
    Any ideas?

  • Can't find email attachments after upgrading my ipad to IOS 7.1

I use my ipad onstage for song lyrics and set order. I compose and edit the song lyric sheets in Word on my PC, email the files to myself as attachments, and open them in Word on my ipad. Until this morning, I had no problem doing this. After I upgraded to IOS 7.1 this morning, my emails on my ipad (latest version) all have the attachment paperclip greyed out. Does anyone know what setting to adjust so I can access them again??

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.
