I can't get Itunes to work with windows 8.1

I saved my ITunes file from my old XP computer to my external hard drive. On my new Win 8.1 computer
I downloaded the  64 bit version of Itunes. I changed the default location of the ITune file to my D(data) drive. My C drive is solid state and I did not want to load up that drive. I then placed the ITunes files on the selected location on my D drive but nothing shows up in the library. Any help out there?

1) In Device Manager, you could right clickSound icon selecting Update Drivers
2) And/Or check, enter question here

  • Can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit

I can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit. It won't even download.

These are the Windows requirements according to the iTunes dpownload site http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/http://:
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later; 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
xp 64 bit is not mentioned but it doesn't seem to be supported for the latest ITunes so it seems that you're out of luck.

  • Can't get iTunes to work with 2 User Accounts

I've tried to find my specific problem on previous threads but it seems that each situation is just a little different. I have two user accounts on my family shared Windows XP Home edition PC. Last week I installed my son's iPod/iTunes using the install disc. I changed the default to C:\documents and settings\user1\My Documents. Life was good. Then I got an iPod of my own. I followed the same install as above only changed the path to user2's account. I went to iTunes and everything was working just fine for user2. The next time user1 tried to access iTunes on his desktop under his Windows user account, he said it just kept searching. (Windows error message with flashlight) He decided to pop the install disc in and see what happens. (yikes!) He took all of the defaults and left both users with nothing working. Infact at that point iTunes was still on the user desktops but only pages and pages of HTML code would display if you tried to launch iTunes. I deleted all traces of itunes and iPod I could locate and went through the same reinstall process as before. I was able to locate user 2's libary and everything worked fine. (That's mine) Poor user1,(my son) we can't get anything installed to his user. The install disk recognizes only my installation and wants to remove everything first. I;ve done that a few times and still can only get user 2 working but not both.

  • Help: Can't get iTunes to work with VTBook from Village Tronic

After installing a Village Tronic VTBook display card into my windows laptop, iTunes will no longer recognize/sync with my 5th Gen iPod. Additionally, CPU useage gets maxed out between service.exe and iPodService.exe taking 98% CPU.
When I uninstall the VTBook drivers and roll-back the system to a restore point before the drivers installed - everything works fine between iTunes and iPod.
I'm using v7.0.2.16 of iTunes and v1.2.1 iPod firmware. I've tried both the v2.4 and v2.3 VTBook drivers and I'm at the end of my rope and ready to return the VTBook card.
My question is: has anyone else experienced this and/or does anyone know how to get it the iPod to work with the VTBook drivers installed?
    Thanks.

  • I can't get itunes to run with windows 7 64 bit

I just bought a new computer. I down loaded Itunes ( which intals with no issues) For some reason it will not load at all.

You need to download the 64 bit version.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1047
That should fix up any issue you are having with the loading of iTunes.

After telling iTunes where your iTunes Music folder is in Preferences > Advanced > General, click on Consolidate Library... in the Advanced menu.

That's absolutely right. Flash Player for IE in Windows 8 is modified and integrated by Microsoft. It cannot be updated or installed via Adobe. ONLY through Windows Update.
See: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html  for some primary troublesshooting steps. If those don't work, post back here.

  • Solution found for getting itunes to work on windows XP 64 bit

I recently just got an ipod nano and I got it to work on my window xp 64 bit desktop. I followed the instructions from http://skunkwerks.wordpress.com/2008/04/13/getting-itunes-to-work-with-windows-x p-x64/ and it works but it comes up with an error that your ipod requires itunes 8.0 or later because the prior instructions is for itunes version 7.6.2 so you need to go to http://pctech.invisibill.net/?page_id=36 click on the last link and download itunes64setup again, except this time it's for version 8. Repeat the same steps you did for 7.6.2 only for 8 this time.

You can run a 32 bit version of Windows XP in a virtual machine.  Microsoft is ending support for XP in less than two years, so you may want to invest in an upgrade.

  • My iPod Classic is seen by Windows but not by iTunes.  I have reset it, gone to disk mode and it won't show up in iTunes.  There appears to be music on it in a file called MUSICSAVE.  How can I get this to work with iTunes again?

My iPod Classic is seen by Windows but not by iTunes.  I have reset it, gone to disk mode and it won't show up in iTunes.  There appears to be music on it in a file called MUSICSAVE.  How can I get this to work with iTunes again?

    1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
    2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
    3. Check the USB cable
4 Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
    5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
    6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
    7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

  • I can't get iTunes to work properly on Windows 8

I can't get iTunes to work properly on Windows 8. I tried everything and iTunes is NOT compatible with Windows 8. There is either an iTunes issue or a Microsoft issue.

I finally got it to work right. Some files and folders (iTunes video files, etc) were referenced to my iTunes account, I copied from my backup (external) Hard Drive to my system Hard Drive. The only thing that can keep me from accessing my wish list for some time is a very heavy Internet traffic via iTunes players to iTunes Store. So everything is now NORMAL.

I have a Mac Mini and I can't get it to work with my Ricoh Aficio MP 161.  Any ideas?

The latest Apple driver support begins with the MP 171.
Here is Ricoh's official driver download page specifically for the Afico MP 161. Note that new drivers for this device were released on Aug 2, and include Lion and Mountain Lion.
Hopefully, this will solve your device issues.
