I can't get Logic to bounce in Quad

I have a piece for 7.1 surround audio, and I will be having it performed in a space that can only support quadraphonic audio. To address this, I created a surround logic project in which I uploaded the stems and set the output to quad. However, when I bounce split, I only get stereo stem files, and when I bounce the project interleaved, there is no metadata that tells me if the final audio file is actually quadraphonic. How can I fix this?

I just double checked it with 10.1 and Quadrophin output works fine, four separate mono files with the file extension I set in the Bounce Extension window
The way you are describing your setup, it seems that you know what you are doing.
I'm sure you have the Audio Device selected that supports the multi-channel out.

Can´t get logic to record audio

ok, i´m feelin´really stupid here - but it´s true - I can´t get logic to record audio in some songs. the only thing - as far as I´m concerned - that is changed while swaping between songs are the song settings. that´s where I´ve been looking for something that´s been disabling the rec function.
I was working on a song right now which I was recording vocals on a couple of days ago, and now I was going to record some synthstrings (record to audio) and I just can´t make it happen. record path e t c seems to be ok.
please somebody...HELP!!

thanks for takin´time... I solved the problem last night and then forgotten to post what i´m doing now. but I think it´s a bug... (and it´s ok if u don´t believe me...) it´s a bit spooky...
I´ve changed the track icons to that cute little tapedeck (for the audio tracks only - buses, inputs and audio instruments have other symbols). looks nice in the arrange window. (gives me the "feel" of recording...) And the song i was working with has been like this for a couple of months. And I´ve been doing a lot of recording until yesterday when it was not possible...
For some reason i started to fiddle with the track symbol - changing it - and, yes, logic was able to record. At this time I didn´t believe that this was the reason so I changed back to the little tape deck, and yes, recording was not possible. Then I opened an autoload which had the same syndrom (at that time I didn´t bother - I just created another setup), and first trying to record - not possible - then changing the tape deck symbol (yes I used it here too - I really liked it...) and recordning was possible. It seems that if all of logics 64 audiotracks has that (from now on I will call it "ugly") tape deck symbol, at least I can´t record audio (logic won´t go in to record - no matter what - pushing buttons clicking mouse e t c) recording midi was never affected. And the "spooky" thing is that I´ve been recording (with no problems) with all of the 64 audiotracks labelled with that little "ugly" tape deck - until yesterday...
This might just b a wierd thing - but if anyone elese has a problem like this, it might help. I´m not shure weather it´s the tape deck symbol itself that causes the problem, but getting rid of it solves the same problem.
(I´m using a RME multiface and I´m not 100% shure it could have SOMETHING to do with this)

Can't get Logic to work on my new Macbook.

I just bought a macbook pro (8,3 OS 10.7.5), and used migration assistant to move over from my old macbook (also running 10.7.5). When I try to launch Logic (legit paid-for copy, 9.1.7) I get the following:
     Logic Pro cannot be opened because of a problem.
     Check with the developer to make sure Logic Pro works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any      available updates for the application and Mac OS X.

I've tried deleting all of the Logic files on the machine and re-intalling/updating, and I still get the message. Logic works fine on the older machine, so I'm assuming its an issue with the migration, but I though deleting everything (at least everything I can find, based on file lists a search for 'uninstalling Logic' came up with) and reinstalling might solve the issue, but it hasn't.
Any help to get logic back up and running would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm- you're right. I've run software update and the app store and it hasn't come up.. so I thought I was up to date (not to mention I just got the laptop a few days ago... and assumed it was updated). I'll try that. Thanks

Can't get Logic to start in new OS

I haven't used my Logic Studio since I upgraded to Lion OS and now I can't get it to work. If I look for updates using Apple's website it can't find my serial number... Any ideas? Also when I run the ap it states "You can't use this version of the application Logic Pro.app with this version of Mac OS X. You have logic pro.app 9.0.0. I can't believe I've paid 500$ for a program that won't open up in the new OS system

Have installed the above mentioned server running the x86 platform with Solaris 10 1/08 with broadcom ethernet adaptor cards.

All these including restart procedures aren't working.
I dont seem to be able to get to other devices on the network yet the local TCP/IP stack behaves just OK. I can ping all the interfaces but cannot ping any device on the network.
During install too, I attempted to acquire a dhcp address via the network from a dhcp server that serves IPs to our network but failed thus proceeded to static addressing.
Any advice please?

Can't get Logic Pro to load

Hi,
I'm totally stumped. I'm using Logic Pro 7.1.1 and have recently upgraded my OS from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 and Logic won't even pass the "setting up memory buffers" stage on loading the program. It was working fine before. I have tried to un-install using the standard manual removal of all logic files but everytime I try to install Logic 7.0, I get a message telling me there is a newer version of the software detected on the hard disk. I've installed all the earlier versions anyway but the program still won't load. Any ideas? Thanks,

You cannot purchase Logic 9 from the App Store as it has been discontinued.
You cannot buy the App Store version of Logic Pro 9 from anyone else as they didn't buy it.. they licenced it and as such cannot sell it.. There is no method that enables them to do so.
You could purchase the Boxed DVD version of Logic Studio 2.0 which includes Logic Pro 9 from places like eBay... if there are any of them up there at this time.. Most of them will be 'used' copies as again, Logic Studio 2.0 was discontinued by Apple a long time ago now..
However, make sure it is the FULL version of Logic Studio 2.0 and not the UPGRADE version... and make sure it is Logic Studio 2.0 and not 1.0 as that version includes Logic Pro 8 and not 9

Can't get Logic nodes to work

I'm using a 3.06 GHz iMac and want to connect it to my 2.8 GHz MacBook Pro. Both Macs are have OSX 10.6.8 and the same versions of Logic and Logic node (9.1.6). I can't seem to find any current documentation (even in the manual) of how to set it up. I was watching a macprovideo.com video on Youtube. Very well done. Until I went to open audio preferences on my host machine and there was no "node" tab.

Under "Configure Track Header" there is no option for viewing the node buttons. Perhaps the vid tut on Youtube was using Logic 8? I couldn't tell. Can someone help out?

I'm trying to use 3 instances of Ivory and the imac is sluggish. I have Ivory on the Macbook. Is this even necessary? There seems to be some disagreement on this.

How can I get Logic to remember my settings and midi environmentds.

I am new to logic and my set up assistant doesn't seem to be having any effect.
Each time I open Logic I have to reconfigure me Midi environment, its driving me nuts!

Save your configured environment as a template. If you want it to be the default, save it in your templates folder as your Autoload song.

How do I get Logic to sync to external audio device?

Here is what I am trying to do:
I have a Big Ben which I want to use to sync everything together. I have Lynx Aurora converters on the way but for now I need to use a 002 rack with a Presonus DigiMax for audio i/o. So basically, I want to connect BIg Ben to 002 with SPDIF cable and to Digimax with Wordclock cable and that all seems to work fine when Logic is off. However I can't get Logic 8 to sync to the Big Ben through the 002 which is used for ins and outs. I can get everything synced by setting Logic to Internal sync and then sending SPDIF from 002 to Big Ben (which syncs externaly to that) and then connecting wordclock out of Big Ben to Digimax. There has got to be a better way.
I have tried setting Logic to external sync ( not exactly sure which method to use since nothing in the manual says that a particular setting is to be used with the i/o except maybe External or Free in Core Audio under Audio Tab on Sync settings - anyway this didn't work). I can use Digidesign CoreAudio Manager to set 002 to SPDIF but whatever I do, Logic doesn't not reflect changes to the clock rate. I someone could guide me on getting Logic to respond to Clock changes from 002R, I can probably get it going from there.

This is what I have figured out so far. If I turn off Logic, the 002 and Digimax clock just fine from the Big Ben. When clocking Logic from an external audio source (by using external or free under the audio tab of Sync preferences), that when I change timing of Big Ben, the audio changes to indicate it is receiving word clock. Logic throws up errors saying that there is a mismatch from external sync to project settings or some such error message. I can then change the clock in Logic to match what the Big Ben reads and errors go away and things indicate that it is clocked correctly. This seems to work, I am just used to other programs that when I change the clock setting on the Big Ben that they reflect those changes right away.
And yes I can synch the 002 to the Digimaz but it still doesn't work correctly until I manually change the clock setting in Logic as well. I just wonder if this is how things are supposed to work in Logic or if I am doing something wrong? The 002 is just a temporary solution to get me through a session tomorrow. After then I will have a Lynx Aurora 16 connected with the Firewire option and then use the Lynx AES16 PCIe when it is available in a few week (or hopefully not months). I am just trying to get a handle on how Logic syncs to an external converter. And while Syncing and wordclock are maybe not the same thing, under the sync menu is the only spot where I have found wordclock even mentioned (at least it is in the manual when describing what some of the options allow).

Getting Logic Express 7.2 to read AU Plug-ins

Hi all,
I'm running Logic Express 7.2 on a Macbook Pro. I haven't had any problems so far, but recently a friend bought me Amplitube for my birthday and I can't get Logic to acknowledge its presence.
I installed the AU file, which is sitting in the library/audio/plug-ins folder. I've also used Logic's AU finder to scan my drives for it, but Logic never finds it.
Anyone have any idea why this is and how to get it to work? Thanks!

Is Amplitube a Universal Binary? If it's the PPC version it won't be able to work with Logic Express on your MacBook Pro. I don't know if Apple plans on doing anything about this, but unfortunately PPC plug-ins won't run in Rosetta in LE 7.2, although I believe that Logic 7.1 could be run in Rosetta and would support using PPC plug-ins.
