I can't get my blackberry registred

Hello,
I've bought a BB Curve 8520 about a half year ago and in the mean time i switched GSM's with a friend of mine.
Now the problem was i wanted my BB back (cuz it's awesome) but there was a bug that wouldn't go away so i have resetted my BB to factory settings (Even cleared the email settings)
And now i'm not a member of blackberry anymore and i can't join blackberry again to sign in with my email adress.
In the introduction wizard wich lets you choose between personal or enterprise i don't even have the personal email option. I can only go enterprise?
Any help?
Much regards, Gruytter

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard.

  • Can't get my blackberry and outlook to sync

I have a web based email through go daddy that I am pulling into my outlook and blackberry.  But I can't get my blackberry calendar and contacts to sync.  I loaded the blackberry desktop but could not find the answer.  I am sure there is an easy answer to this but it is driving me crazy.
    Thanks,

What exactly happens though? Do you see it process the calendar and contacts but no information is ever transferred over?
On the BlackBerry check under Options | Advanced Options | Default Services. Make sure your default calendar is set to your godaddy account

  • Can't get past the "Registration" page when syncing up nano...Help!

I'm hoping someone can PLEASE help with my problem. I posted in a different forum a week or so ago, but unfortuantely didn't get an answer that worked:
My wife and I have had our iPod nanos (2nd gen) since Christmas 2006. We've been using iTunes since then with no problems.
    The basic information:
My computer is a Gateway laptop running Windows XP. It was recently serviced (it needed a new power jack) I am using iTunes 7.0.2.16.
Recently, when syncing up mine or my wife's iPod Nanos (2nd generation)using the USB port, iTunes will reccognize our iPod nanos in the left-hand screen, and it will sync them up...however, on the main screen, it will not get past "Registration" no matter what I do. If I hit "cancel" or "register later" or "never register", nothing at all happens. It just stays on the same page. If I select "register", it will let me fill in all the information, and then gets stuck on that screen. It absolutely refuses to get past registration to the "preferences" screen.
Needless to say, we are unable to select any of our playlists, see how much space we have...do anything, basically. It is super frustrating~!
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be extremely grateful~!!
    Thank you very much--

Hi melbernai - not sure if you've solved this problem yet. I had the exact same problem recently with my 2nd Gen iPod Nano. I solved it yesterday by simply updating iTunes to the most recent version, after which I could get rid of the register screen. The only other thing I needed to do to add my custom playlists was select "Manually manage music" on the screen for my iPod, since it had been in an automatic synching mode since the problem occurred.

  • How can I get my blackberry curve 8900 to update to 5.0 and get wifi to work?

I bought a blackberry curve 8900 around a year ago on an AT&T plan back when data plans werent required, so it just has minutes and texting. because of an issue i had with data before, i have data disabled completely on my account to prevent any mistaken data being used up and charging me. my AT&T contract recently expired so i called them up and got my blackberry unlocked, and will be soon switching to tmobile.
My problem is that it refuses to update past 4.6 over to 5.0 because of some restriction on it placed by AT&T, and my wifi wont work unless i have data enabled for the same reason. Is there anything i can do? I've tried installing 5.0 from different service providers onto my phone but it never installs properly.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
While you can (with just a trick or two) use any carriers OS package for your specific model number, it won't do any good since all 5.0 level OS's require a data plan, regardless of which carrier. So, without that, you can't update to 5.0. Further, it is the data plan that activates BIS -- which is what is used to run the BlackBerry Browser...hence that non-functionality also. Basically, a BB without a data plan is, to many, pretty useless.
There are other browsers that bypass BIS and will use a generic data plan (assuming you have that)...OperaMini and Bolt come to mind. You might give those a try.
    Good luck!

  • How can i get my Blackberry Internet Connection

Hi, I need help setting up my Blackberry 9850 to access the internet. I recently bought my phone via ebay and installed a new OS for my service provider in Kenya. The phone was locked to Verizon wireless service and upon unlocking it i still have no idea on what to do. My service provider claims that the phone is branded and that i should contact Verizon to provide me with the designated pin to unlock the BB internet connection. Any help or advice will be much appreciated

    Here's the real problem.
Many things (in particular data features) on BlackBerry devices are controlled by something called Service Books.
The Service Books are pushed to the device from the service provider (carrier) once you have the proper BLACKBERRY Data Plan.  A generic smartphone internet plan will not work.
However, if you are trying to use a Verizon BlackBerry on a service provider that does not support that specific device model number natively, you will need to MANUALLY load the generic Service Books from YOUR service provider.  You will need to search the internet to see if the Service Books are even available (which they most likely are not).
Otherwise, you need to get a device that is NATIVELY supported by your service provider.
BlackBerry devices work differently from other smartphones.

  • I have storm 9500 unlocked in uk, I can not get the blackberry internet to work?

I have blackberry storm 9500. i unlocked it for o2, the o2 internet works....however the blackberry internet does not work...the operate for o2 seemed to think i need Service pack...but i cnt find it to download
    anyone able to help me

Have you got the Blackberry Unlimited bolton at £10 per month or the blackberry payu on your account?
Have you registered your device to www.o2email.co.uk or registered on the mobile site by going through the setup wizzard?
I have never heard about a service pack, but they probably mean service books, these 2 questions are vital to know if you have access to blackberry.net.  Also if you have already done the two above, I would suggest you try email settings>services and settings>service books.  Do a battery removal and retest.  There are other checks but I'm not sure how far you have got so far

  • Can't sync a blackberry with the new Macbook

I'm asking a question for a friend of mine who bought the new MB. She can't get her blackberry to sync using either pocketmac or missing sync. She's been talking to folks at Apple stores and pocketmac, and they've said it's a known hardware issue. So far none of the updates have made a difference. I haven't seen any posts about it here, but am wondering if anyone is aware of a solution.

see text from e-mail I received after my inquiry.
We've been hearing from customers like you that they had trouble
synching their BlackBerry handhelds with new Aluminum MacBook laptops.
They also reported trouble synching their new BlackBerry Storm.
The Aluminum MacBook issue appears to be caused by a change
Apple made to some of the hardware and software for that new model.
We recommend two items that you should download and install to
better assist with connection and synchronization:
    1. Apple OS 10.5.6 Update
    2. Blackberry USB Driver Patch/Upgrade (available at the bottom
    of this email).
Please run Apple's software update from the Apple icon ---
Software Update. After the Software Update searches for new software.
Mac OS X 10.5.6 software update should be available in the download
    list.
Please install this update. It's large and will take several
minutes to complete. After successfully installing the update, please
restart your Macintosh and continue with the instructions below...
We've just released a new, free patch is to support synching the
new BlackBerry Storm, the BlackBerry Bold 8900 and connections to the
    new
MacBook Aluminum. This patch supports both Mac OS X 10.4 ("Tiger")
and Mac OS X 10.5 ("Leopard").
At the bottom of this email, please find the download link for
    this new update.
However, please download this USB Driver ONLY if you have one of
the following items in your operating environment:
*You have a NEW Aluminum MacBook.
*You have a BlackBerry Storm 9530
*You have a BlackBerry Bold 9000
    Please download this update at:

  • Can't Get Blackberry Onto The Internet

    Hi Everyone!
Sorry if this has been asked before. I've been given a Blackberry Pearl on the T Mobile network. My SIM card is on Virgin UK so it lets me make calls and receive text messages but whenever I try to get on the internet it says there's a problem and to talk to my service provider.
I've spoken to Virgin who said the following settings need to be entered but I can't find where to do it, all the places I've tried haven't worked. If I can't get on the internet with Virgin I'll have to move to another network, I just want to try everything before I have to do that! Thanks so much for any help you can give - Virgin gave me the below settings:
    GPRS:
    Name - Virgin WAP GPRS.
    Homepage - www.virgin.com/mobile/wap/
    IP Address - 193.030.166.003
    Access Point - goto.virginmobile.uk
    Port - 9201
    Username - user
    Password - leave blank
Some phones need slightly different settings so, if those settings don't work for you, try entering the following:
    GPRS:
    Name - Virgin WAP GPRS
    Homepage - www.virgin.com/mobile/wap/
    IP Address - 193.030.166.004
    Access Point - goto.virginmobile.uk
    Port -8080
    Username - user
    Password - leave blank

Channel 13 is not supported on some devices.
What hub do you have? 1,1.5,2,3,4?

Can someone please help a friend of mine get a permanent registration key (not a trial key that expires in 30 days) to replace his lost registration key for Adobe Photoshop CS2? His previous hard drive crashed and he no longer has his registration key. This is vital for his wedding business.

Thanks to everyone for the tips on my CS2 question. It turns out in the end it was some plug-in filter software that was causing the glitch, not a lack of an Adobe registration key. As for why he still uses CS2, it does the job for him, so that's all he needs.

  • Can I bluetooth my blackberry to get Internet on my iPad

Can I tether my blackberry to my iPad2 via Bluetooth (or cable) to get Internet access?

I was able to tether my iPad 2 to my friend's iPhone 4. I am not able to tether my iPad 2 to my Blackberry. I have a jailbroken iPod Touch 4 that I can tether using iBluever.
If Apple seriously doesn't want people to jailbreak their devices, it is advisable for them to allow the iPad to be tethered to any device that will allow a 3G connection... but as of this writing, I believe that the iPad 2's tethering is done with some proprietary mechanism that doesn't allow the iPad 2 to be tethered to anything but an iPhone.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I'd be very happy to be wrong, and then I'd stop googling "iPad 2 jailbreak 4.3.1" every few days.

  • Company wants me to get a Blackberry; can I get an iPhone instead?

    Hi all,
My company told me they want me to get a Blackberry, but I would much rather use an iPhone. We are a Windows shop and use Exchange for email, calendars, etc. The question is can I get all of the stuff that a Blackberry provides (email, calendar, global contacts) with the iPhone if it is linked with an Exchange server?
    Thanks for any info.
    Ed

Although the iPhone works with Exchange, your company must have Exchange accessible to mobile devices. This requires at least Exchange 2003 or 2007, and ActiveSync turned on and allowed for mobile devices. If your company doesn't have this set up, then the only way for your iPhone to interface will be to sync with Outlook.
You need to check with your Exchange/IT guys and see if they will let you sync your iPhone to Exchange. If they don't have Exchange ActiveSync available outside the firewall, then you are out of luck.
The iPhone does support configuration profiles and remote wipe, so it does have many of the security features found on the BB.
