I can't import a Frame document that is longer than 2 pages

I've gradually cut down the size of a 70 page document until I got it to import at 2 pages. Have had this problem with other documents in this project but not to this extent. Usually just had to split into two files. After several attempts, it is not unusual for RH to crash.
The files have had all page numbers removed from cross-references.
There are no unresolved cross-references.
RH 8.0.2.208
Framemaker 7 (also tried a Frame 9 doc)

I believe I found the problem. I sometimes "stack" Framemaker tables, meaning their markers run together and aren't separated in any way. I was able to perform the RH import after I "unstacked" these tables.

I am copying and pasting into a new, Pages document (from the word processing menu), and I paste in text that is longer than one page, it doesn't continue onto the next page. I can't see the end. How do I get it to show everything I paste in?

I want to copy an extensive amount of text from a web page into a Pages word processing document, but it seems to chop it up into text boxes, some of which aren't long enough to show all of the lines of text. I can't get hold of a bottom edge of the boxes to drag them to make them longer. I tried several times starting over with a new, blank page (and I made sure to choose from the Word Processing part of the dropdown menu, since I read about a similar problem that said not to use the layout menu. It keeps doing the same thing. What do I have to do to get long text pasted to multiple pages, instead of it trying to be all on one page?
In the long run, what I want is to create this as an ePub book. Is there a better way to go about this?

Copying from web pages can include some weird formatting. Instead of Paste, use Paste and Match Style (Edit Menu).

Without the iPad connected, open up iTunes on your computer. Go to iTunes/Preferences/Devices and delete the backups that you're absolutely certain do not have the documents. Refer to figure below.
iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "NO" to creating a backup. (You don't want to create a new backup that does not have the docs.) You will then be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad. This time, say "yes."
Repeat all of the above as required until you get the docs.

You may whant to look at your windows creash reports to see where CS4 is crashing, It may help you find a solution if there is one.
Photoshop is not designed as a video editor. Video is more or less and add on.
Photoshop video support was also significantly enhances in CS6. While there is still support for menu File>Import>Video Frames to layers. Its not the best way to get video into Photoshop. Even dropping a quicktime file onto Photoshop is better. I find the best way to get video into Photoshop is using the Video Timeline add media into. Its quicker, You have better control of selecting the frames you want, And you can turn a video timeline into layers and a frame animation if that is what you want to work on.
If you want to do video get a lost cost video editor like Premier Elements. If you just want do do simple video editing spring for CS6 or subscribe to the cloud. CS6 will set you back some $700 for Standard $1000 for extended. Where $10 a month will get you the cloud. Where your get Photoshop Extended and can also use LR. I do not use LR or do video editing. I get the cloud mostly for the improvements being made to ACR and ACR in Cloud Photoshop is a Filter in addition of being a Photoshop and Bridge Plug-in.
Frame Animations and video timeline can be save for web as animated poor choice for video or large frame animation. They can also be rendered out as video. Video file sized are much smaller then Animated GIF have better color and can contain audio as well. Here the 1920x1080 Gif file size was nearly 29MB where the High Quality mp4 with audio was about 6MB.

I recently updated to Pages 5.2 and have discovered that my favorite and most used framing option is no longer a choice. How can I get the frame option that allowed you to diffuse the edges to soften a picture edges on 5.2?

That is called the vignette, and yes Apple has removed it from Pages 5 along with 100 other features.
Pages '08/'09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder so use that.
Be aware that Pages 5.2 is not only short of features it is also buggy and prone to leaving you with files that won't open.

We need to find out what you actually have here. There is no Adobe Reader Pro. There is Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
With Acrobat Pro, you may be able to do some editing after running OCR. With Adobe Reader, you cannot edit.

If your files are this large, ExportPDF is the wrong tool for you. You need Adobe Acrobat, which runs locally and does not need to send your files to Adobe.

Can I have a fire wire interace cable longer than 4.5m. CVS manual Specifies that better signal intergrity it is better to use less than 4.5 m. But I Found from www.1394store.com that IEEE 1394 cable is available for 10m. If I use this will this work with CVS?

You may be able to use it, but I wouldn't guarantee it. I assume the cable will work with some firewire applications, otherwise the company wouldn't be able to sell it. It may only work at the lower data rates though, so if you are sending large volumes of data it may not work.
I would suggest looking into a repeater. You can use it to connect two 4.5m cables. It is powered from the firewire cable, so it isn't much trouble. You can chain three or four cables together using repeaters before you need to use a powered hub. Some repeaters even have a cable built in on one end. My only concern with a repeater would be making sure the cable stays plugged in.

I am trying to log and transfer several clips from my Canon Vixia HF S11 camcorder. When I attempt to transfer a clip into Final Cut Express that is longer than 5 minutes, it stops right when it is about to finishe and says, "Unknown Error." Due to the volume of my HD footage, I am working on an external hard drive with ample space. Could this be the problem? Should I attempt to transfer these longer clips onto my MacBook hard drive? Use Disk Utility (in your Applications>Utilities folder) to erase the drive and reformat as Mac OS Extended. There are differing opinions regarding whether or not you should select journaling. With media drives, I tend not to. (This process will, of course, erase what's on the drive presently.)

I can't import video frames to layers in Photoshop CS4

I just bought a Macbook Pro, OS X 10.8.4 and installed Photoshop CS4 on it, but when I select import video frames to layers and search for a video, they appear but I can't select any videos. I have the latest version of Quicktime and the videos play fine. I can still use photoshop with photos so it seems like it's just this one function that isn't working. It works on my sister's older Macbook pro though (she hasn't got Mountain Lion though, it's snow leopard OS X 10.6.8), and the only time it didn't work was when there wasn't enough space on the computer but I have over 670GB of available space.

How can I tell if I am using QT X or QT 7? Do you have any idea how I could fix this issue?
Edit: I downloaded QT 7 and changed it to my default player and restarted my computer. I don't know if this is what I was supposed to do, but the issue is still unresolved. Just wondering, why does it make a difference if it's QT 7 or X? I'm sorry, I really don't know much about these things as I am relatively new to photoshop

Importing Microsoft word documents that already have paragraph styles

Hello. I have been trying to figure out how to do this for months, this was taught to me many months ago but for some odd reason when I tried it myself it didn't work . I have my paragraph styles all set up in my indesign document. I have to import text that another person is giving me. The document that this person is giving me is a Microsoft word document. Someone showed me that you can customize the document in microsoft word, with styles for example: Selecting a part of text and customizing it (making it big and bold for example), then naming that style Heading, and then doing the same for lets say...a subheading. Well after you save the document (the microsoft word document), you are able to import the word document into your indesign file and it's supposed to override the styles from Microsoft Word and customize itself with your own paragraph or character styles that you already have in your indesign document, as long as the name of the styles are the same as the ones you had in microsoft word(which in this case would be heading and subheading). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Convert Word styles to InDesign styles
Here's the info you need. I found it in the InDesign Help section. I needed it, too. The "Show Import Options" is a little box in the lower left hand corner of the screen that comes up when you choose the file you want to place in InDesign. It's easy to miss.
While importing a Microsoft Word document into InDesign or InCopy, you can map each style used in Word to a corresponding style in InDesign or InCopy. By doing so, you specify which styles format the imported text. A disk icon appears next to each imported Word style until you edit the style in InDesign or InCopy.
Do one of the following:
To add the Word document to existing text in InDesign or InCopy, choose File > Place. Select Show Import Options, and then double-click the Word document.
To open the Word document in a stand-alone InCopy document, start InCopy, choose File > Open, and then double-click the Word file.
Select Preserve Styles and Formatting From Text and Tables.
Select Customized Style Import, and then click Style Mapping.
In the Style Mapping dialog box, select the Word style, and then select an option from the menu under InDesign style. You can choose the following options:
If there is no style name conflict, choose New Paragraph Style, New Character Style, or choose an existing InDesign style.
If there is a style name conflict, choose Redefine InDesign Style to format the imported style text with the Word style. Choose an existing InDesign style to format the imported style text with the InDesign style. Choose Auto Rename to rename the Word style.
Click OK to close the Style Mapping dialog box, and then click OK to import the document.

Can't import MS Word documents

Can anyone help me? Pages says it couldn't open the document. In fact, when browsing the files in Finder, I click on each Word doc and get file property stats but the adjacent preview window remains blank. Any help would be appreciated.

Peggy, I have run a series of experiments with Word documents and Pages. I generated a Word document from the Genealogy program in Word 2000 format (Parallels: in Windows). Then I opened it with Word:Mac 2004. I had Word:Mac update all the links to pictures embedded in the document. Then I saved the document under Word:Mac 2004.
Then I moved the document over to the Mac side of the house, and opened it in Word again, and noted that the pictures, footnotes and endnotes were all in place.
Then I opened the document, now in MacWord2004 format, in Pages. It did indeed open. The embedded pictures were fine. HOWEVER the endnotes ended up as footnotes, along with the other footnotes. The ENDNOTES page was empty. This is a LONG, complex document.
I did the same procedure with a document that had no pictures, and the endnotes and footnotes ended up correct, HOWEVER, Pages tossed in a few extra blank pages (easily fixable).
I think we are going to find that Pages only imports a select few Word formats. And isn't 100% with that. It appears that Pages does pretty good with Word:Mac 2004. No good at all with several Word:Windows formats.
Perhaps a list of the Word formats Pages does NOT like would be helpful.
