I also have the exact same issue. New IMac, installed LR, imported approximately 900 photos no problem, across the network from a Windows PC. The import stopped when the network connection was lost. Now I cannot import for the same reason "could not copy a file to the requested location". I have plenty of disk space and i have permission to the needed folders. I cannot even import from a folder already on the IMac.

Copy the photos from the card to a folder on the desktop. Then import them from there to iPhoto. If that works you can delete them from the card.

How to access iPhoto images for use in Photoshop
1. In the Finder, navigate to Users > [user name} > Pictures > iPhoto Library.
2. Control-click the iPhoto Library file and choose Show Package Contents.
3. A Finder window opens that shows the contents. The Masters folder (or called Originals folder) contains all of the photographs that are in iPhoto.
Photoshop cannot access this folder, but if you make a duplicate of the folder, the dupe will be accessible -- so:
4. Control-click the folder named Masters (or Originals) and choose Duplicate.
5, Drag the duplicate folder which is named "Masters copy" or “Originals copy” from the iPhoto Library Finder window to the Desktop.
6. Open images in Photoshop from file on desktop.
7 Rename the folder and move it elsewhere (probably to the Pictures folder), if desired.

This means that the photos (or the folders that contain them) have been moved, renamed or deleted outside of Lightroom. On Windows it can also mean the disk drive has changed letters.

I did a restore from backup but that did not change anything.
I can see my apps in iTunes - it is like the update got some apps but not all, no contacts.

May be your carrier but try a reset:
Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears

The only way is to create an Apple ID without a credit card. The one you currently created will not work, it has to be a new one, and use this support document to do it. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534 Make sure you follow the directions exactly.

This has me confused. Rebooting the iPad (holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen) should not in any way, shape or form, remove content from the iPad.
Then you stated that you chose the option to back up before restarting? There is no option to backup before "restarting" on the iPad. Are you restoring the device in iTunes?

Can't import photos from SD card!

I have about 200 photos on a 2 GB Kingston SD card that will not import. I do not have any other software (e.g. from my camera--a Canon PowerShot SD750) other than iPhoto 09 to import my photos.
The first time I tried importing the photos, all the photos loaded, but when I click to "Import All" and after waiting for about and hour, it imported about 10 photos and popped up with a msg. saying that the rest of the photos (which it had listed in numbered jpeg format) could not be imported b/c they were in an unrecognizable format. I have tried importing them using a SD card reader and hooking up my camera via USB cable with the same results. When I place the card back the into my camera, and I try to view the images on my camera screen, I can see them, but it now says "Unidentified Image" underneath them.
I am desperate to try to recover these photos of my family's vacation!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Sounds like there may be directory damage on the card.
Try use Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) to move the files to your desktop.
If that fails ry use an app like MediaRecover to get the pics, and afterwards reformat the card in your camera.

Suddenly can't import photos from SDHC card after installing Snow Leopard

After we installed Snow Leopard, we suddenly can't import any photos from our camera when we use an SDHC memory card. Regular SD cards work fine and importing from our SDHC card onto our MacBookPro w/o SnowLeopard works just fine. Anyone have any solutions for this? Tried my card reader, too, and get same problem. Hook up camera/card reader, iPhoto takes a long time to recognize it, and then I get blank photos. I click import and then get an error message about unreadable files. Only happens when using the SDHC card. We're using iPhoto '08 on both Macs.

I vaguely remember other posts regarding the SDHC card. Have you searched for "SDHC" in the forum to see what other users report and they found a solution?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

I am getting Contraint violations when I send out emails from my work website. This has never happened before. What could this be?

That doesn't sound familiar. Is this a pop-up message from Firefox, or an error that appears in a web page after you click send, or an error that is sent back to you from a mail server (e.g., like a non-delivery receipt message)?

HT1386 I am unable to sync music from itunes to my itouch 5th gen. This has never happened before. I use a i3 processor on my windows 7. The music just won't sync and when I go the "on this ipod" tab, the songs come faded and there is a circle.

I have tried resetting and restoring also but it just wont sync music!
