I can't import photos from iphone4 to Aperture after Yosemite upgrade, aperture is up to date
Aperture stopped recognizing my IPhone4 when I try to import photos. This happened after I upgraded to Yosemite. My phone does show up in ITunes, and I have tried unlocking phone and shutting it off/on. My Aperture is up to date.
I went to Yosemite help page, and found an answer to another problem I was having after OS X upgrade. I was seeing duplicate iMacs under devices (I was checking to see if my phone showed up which it didn't). The fix for that problem took care of the problem I was having with the iPhone import into Aperture.
This leads me to believe the problem was due to the upgrade and some bugs that are still there. Now it's working fine.
Thank again for you help.

Cannot import photos from iphone to iphoto after ios6 upgrade
I upgraded to IOS6 a few days ago. Now iphoto does not start up automatically when I attach my phone. When I open the app, my phone is not recognized and the "import photos" button is no where to be found.
I've tried checking off photostream, unchecking photostream; changing the preferences to image capture; rebooting my phone. I really need to get these photos off of my phone as it is full. Please help!!!
Thanks!Yes, I did solved the problem. It was not with iPhoto but with the iTunes. Once I delete my phone profile all worked. I did not write the steps down but if you do it please post it here.

Can't import photos from a particular camera after upgrades
Just upgraded to Yosemite 10.10 and iPhoto 9.6 (910.29), both current as of this writing.
I have a Canon EOS 10D (older DSLR). I find that when I connect the camera and start iPhoto, iPhoto shows that I have the camera connected, but I never see the photos. iPhoto hangs displaying "Loading". The same happens with Image Capture. And, oddly, nothing at all happens when I connect the card from the camera using an external card reader.
Your help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. What can work is to try the card at a different machine, or even a Windows one. Sometimes that will allow you to get the photos off the card.
Riskieer: reformat the card and then try recover the shots with MediaRecover or Picture Rescue -
Can you import photos from time machine backup after clean install
I had to do a clean install of Mt. Lion. So now I have all my photos on the time machine backup. Is there a way to get those photos in to my library?
When I go back to the backup it does not let me go back to the previous backupprobably because the last backup was Lion and I am on Mt. Lion now. don't what to do another backup if that is going to mess up the old one. I can access it though by just going to it. So i am putting that one on my desktop and I am going to rename it and see if I can open in Iphoto.

I can not import photos from my PC to the iPad, it says iTunes will no longer sync photos to the iPad
YES Terence! Thank you. Exporting allowed me to move my photos from iPhoto into the Burn Folder on my desktop. But that doesn't explain why I'm having to go that route now. Have I done something (accidentally changed some setting) on my computer that will not allow me to just click and drag anymore? I really liked the convenience of the click and drag option.
I don't have the time tonight to export and burn a lot of CD/DVDs. I'll try that tomorrow and make sure my photos are moving properly. I also need to export photos to my external hard drive to make sure that route is working.
Wouldn't you know that my Apple Care Plan runs out this Wednesday?! I need to make sure everything is working properly before that expires.
Thank you so much for your help. I really, really appreciate it. -
Can't import photos from my iPhone into iLife '08 after upgrade to 10.5.1
I can't import photos from my iPhone into iLife '08 anymore after upgrade to 10.5.1.
It used to work great...now this. Sad, sad, sad I am.
I tried the "FIX" of refreshing phone and sync history, but it DID NOT WORK for me. HELP!
Please help, somebody.
Saint PodoreoI have the exact same issue, but with a standard IMAP account and SMTP. My iPhone can send out, using the EXACT same settings, from the exact same WiFi connection...but the 10.8 MacBook cannot send at all. The only account I can send out on is my iCloud account.
I have also tried all the steps above...no luck.
I have also turned off all network filters and firewalls...no luck. (And as I said above, my iPhone is on the exact same WiFi connection and using the exact same settings, and it can send fine.)
Other messages I've found via Google have suggested simply forcing the SMTP server to use Port 25, but that didn't work for me either. -

Can i import photos from my PC to iPhone?
You can send photos from a PC to an iPhone several ways. One is to use a USB cable and iTunes: Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support
Another method is via 3rd party software such as http://www.photosync-app.com/ -
How can i import photos from ipad to itunes, how can i import photos from ipad to itunes
How can I import photos from my iPad to iTunes on my Windows Vista PC?
I'm puzzled! I had received a set of jpg files through an e-mail on my ipad. For reasons unknown to me, they got saved to my (only) album, that had an irrelevant name. When I tried to change the name of the album, I received a message that I could only change the name of the album after importing them to the computer where (as I recall) iTunes resided. After much huffing and puffing, I managed to import the photos, to the Windows computer, but they wound up in a Windows Photo Gallery directory, where I put them into an appropriately named album. Now, how do I get them back to the iPad. (I also learned, I think, that iTunes will have nothing to do with the photos.

HT201302 how can i import photos from iphone to pc
how can i import photos from iphone to pc?
For photos taken with the iPhone or saved from emails/websites then on a PC you should be able to use the Windows Camera Wizard or just copy them via Windows Explorer (there is more info on this page).
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPhone, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer. -
Can I import photos from an old iPhoto library?
Can I import photos from an old iPhoto library on an external hard drive to my current iPhoto library? The icon on the hard drive appears greyed out when I try via Import.
Open the older library and export the Photos from it to the Finder (File -> Export) and switch to the new Library and import those.
Or, use iPhoto Library Manager to move the photos, plus all the versions and associated metadata to the new Library.

How can i import photos from iphoto 9.2.3 to 9.6
I am migrating from a 2009 ibook to a Macbook pro 13.3 retina. How can can I import photos from iPhoto 9.2.3 library to the 9.6 iPhoto.
I am running 10.6.8 snow leopard on the ibook which has 4Gb of memory.
I tried but it just loaded icons to the 9.6 library.
I am reluctant to go to Yosimite on the ibook and it seems this would not solve it anyway. You don't import one library to another. Just copy the library from the iBook to the Pictures folder on shout new MacBook Pro. If you have another library already on the MBP rename it so you don't overwrite it with the old library.
Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the newly copied library and let iPhoto convert it to the new version.
Do you have photos in the library on the new MacBook Pro that you want to combine with the older library? -
How can I import photos from iPhoto-library to edit in Photoshop CC? - and save it back to the iPhoto-library?
How to access iPhoto images for use in Photoshop
1. In the Finder, navigate to Users > [user name} > Pictures > iPhoto Library.
2. Control-click the iPhoto Library file and choose Show Package Contents.
3. A Finder window opens that shows the contents. The Masters folder (or called Originals folder) contains all of the photographs that are in iPhoto.
Photoshop cannot access this folder, but if you make a duplicate of the folder, the dupe will be accessible -- so:
4. Control-click the folder named Masters (or Originals) and choose Duplicate.
5, Drag the duplicate folder which is named "Masters copy" or “Originals copy” from the iPhoto Library Finder window to the Desktop.
6. Open images in Photoshop from file on desktop.
7 Rename the folder and move it elsewhere (probably to the Pictures folder), if desired. -
I can't import photos from a card, file or anything. I get "could not copy a file to the requested location". I have never had this happen before. I use a MacBook Pro
I also have the exact same issue. New IMac, installed LR, imported approximately 900 photos no problem, across the network from a Windows PC. The import stopped when the network connection was lost. Now I cannot import for the same reason "could not copy a file to the requested location". I have plenty of disk space and i have permission to the needed folders. I cannot even import from a folder already on the IMac.

After downloading yosemite, can't import photos from camera to iPhoto
After downloading Yosemite 10.10.1 to my Macbook Air, I can't import photos from camera to iPhoto. Had no problem before. It recognizes camera and says loading, but it never does load photos.
That's the latest version.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
