    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Here's a screenshot showing the particular links on the page that you should be clicking:
After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.
    (2) Go to the Downloads area for your Web browser. Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard After you’ve installed that then download the 10.6.8 combo updater to finish it off. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.
You can upgrade from 10.4 straight to 10.6 with no problems as long as you have at least 1gb of RAM. Any program that runs under 10.4 should run under10.6. See this list for third party programs compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/  You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any Power PC applications
    http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

  • How do I install canon camera software on my macbook air?

I recently bought a canon dslr, but I can't install the editing software that came along with it because I do not have a cd drive (macbook air). Can it be installed through Remote Disk?

Good question.  The Remote Disk is used mainly for installing software.  It does not work for watching movies.
    From the document referened:
Note: These types of discs or activities are not supported by DVD or CD sharing:
    DVD movies.
    Audio CDs.
Copy protected discs such as game discs.
Install discs for an operating system such as Microsoft Windows (for use with Boot Camp), or Mac OS X.
    Burn a CD or DVD

  • How do I can I install MS Office 2008 on a MacBook Air w/ a valid product key? Can I download files somewhere?

How do I can I install MS Office 2008 on a MacBook Air w/ a valid product key? Can I download files somewhere?
    Here's the scenario....
I've got a brand new gift MacBook Air 11" and I want to install Microsoft Office 2008 since I have a valid key license that's given by my nephew. Do I have any other options here?  Can I download all the necessary files from somewhere officially and just enter the Product Key to install what I need?  Are there other possible options?
Your help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

You can use a remote disc to download Office as shown here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5287
    But please note several cautions:
    1.  The product key is intended for one machine only.  You would have to be the sole user.
    2.  Office 2008 is now very close to being obsolete.  Office 2011 has been out for years, and Office 365 is available for your Mac as well.

  • Can I swap the harddisks between a new MacBook Air and a MacBook 2009?

Can I swap the harddisks between a new MacBook Air and a MacBook 2009?
I want to buy a MacBook Air and give my MacBook to my wife but
I want to keep all my files, itunes libraries, user accounts, etc.
Will the new Mac Book Air detect the new hardware and install the new
    drivers by itself?

Hi uni2canarias and welcome to Apple Discussions!
The hard drive in the MacBook Air is not meant to be user replaceable. Further, the OS installed on your MacBook would likely not run the MacBook Air.
A better solution might be to use the Migration Assistant to move your data to the new computer. This comes up when you are setting up the new computer for the first time.
    Best of luck.

  • Do I need to install virus protection software on my MacBook Air?

Do I need to install virus protection software on my MacBook Air?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You do not need to install additional security software. OS X already comes with security software to keep your Mac safe. See > http://www.thesafemac.com/mmg
However, you should keep OS X and all your applications updated, and do not visit strange websites. Also, be careful with public networks, where your Mac is more vulnerable.

How can I connect the first generation ipod to macbook air or macbook pro? Using an adapter?

    macbook air
The only theoretical solution is an USB ExpressCard adapter and FireWire ExpressCard. I don't know if anyone's actually attempted it.
    macbook pro
A FireWire 400 to 800 cable or adapter, also known as 6 pin to 9 pin.

  • Can not install the Ipod software on Windows XP SP2

Hello, I can not install the 'Ipod logiciel' [Ipod software?] for my Ipod Nano on my PC with Windows XP SP2. I don't have any error messages but the installation gets stopped just before its end. I mean, the Install Shield Program disappears while the steps "Publication of the product information" Does somebody know what's happening or where the problem might comes from? I would really appreciate your help. Merci d'avance,
    William

I have the same problem. The old version 4.7 works fine on XP but upgrading to version 6.0 or above gives me an error message that says ( The iTunes music library .itl file is locked on a local disk or you do not have permission for this file.) I bought my wife a Nano and the XP machine won't see the Nano, but if I plug the Nano into my Laptop with Win 2000 with the same 4.7 version of iTunes it will work just fine. The only problem is that all the music files are on the desk top machine. I can load the nano but I have to do it in a round about way. I tried updating iTunes about 6 different times with the same results. You must remove Itunes through ad/remove hardware in windows, restart win. then reinstall the older version. I tried the repair rout several times but that did no good.Good luck and I hope Apple can help us out with these problems!

  • I can't install the new software 8.2 wireless from the phone only when I connect to my laptop

need help to install the new software 8.2 wireless from my phone

    Howdy Punya,
It sounds like you are unable to get your phone updated by downloading it directly to the device, and it only works when you connect it to iTunes. I would recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article with different troubleshooting depending on the issue that it is having:
Resolve issues with an over-the-air iOS update
If that does not resolve, or doesn't address the issue, can you elaborate on what is happening when you try?
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Can I upgrade the ram memory of my Macbook air from 4gb to 8gb?

Anybody knows if I can upgrade the ram memory of a Macbook Air from 4gb to 8gb?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The memory in the MacBook Air is soldered onto the logic board, so you can't upgrade RAM after buying your computer. It's important to buy your MacBook Air with the amount of memory you will use because you won't be able to install more RAM
