I can't login with my apple id

Hi there,
let's see if I can explain it simply. I've somehow always had 2 apple id's, one with the typical nickname I use in the internets, and one with my personal email (the same nickname for the internets @gmail.com)., I've always thought they were the same, but I discovered recently they weren't when I started having pr oblems with one of them, and had to reset a password, and that made the other crash because I was trying the new password when in reality I had only set it up for the other one.
After finding out those problems I decided to stay with the email one, and try to make sure I used that for everything I could.
There are, however, some apps that I bought with the other account, so if I want to update I have to use that one or just buy it again.
The problem now is that, there's no way in the world to log into that one (the one with just the nickname, not the email). I've tried resetting the password via email, and I don't receive it to any of my usual emails. I've tried with the personal questions and I can't get past the birthday question, which is just impossible. I've tried recovering my apple id and it's driven me to find out that there's a 3rd account, which is identified by my "real name" email, not the internets nick.
I'm completely lost and can't find for the live of me an explanation to all this mess, specially since I've always thought I handled these things correctly (hey, I work in the business as a developer). Also, there seems to be no way to contact apple about this.
Any tips on how to proceed? I didn't receive any charge in the credit card, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone had stolen the account.

What happens: You make a purchase in iTunes then listen to it, and go back to the store afterwards to make another purchase, iTunes will keep asking for your password, over and over and over and over, never stopping.
Workaround: You have to close out iTunes, open it back up, then make the purchase, it will work fine.

i had to create a new password a little while ago & succeeded in purchasing 2 albums with no trouble, but then when i was about to purchase a 3rd itunes asked me to log in with my apple id again and wouldn't let me log on. no matter how many times i entered my password the same dialogue box appears asking for my apple id password. it doesn't say that it's incorrect either. it just keeps popping up.

All of a sudden I can't login with my apple ID

I've been using iTunes for years on my PC, and I've had it running on this machine since early summer. Now I get "Apple ID you entered couldn't be found or your password was incorrect."
I knew it wasnt wrong but I went ahead and reset it. Still doesnt' work. You know I have the right ID and pwd right since IM LOGGED IN HERE aren't I?
Why can't I sign in? I'm 99% sure It's NOT my machine. There have been no instals or patches or system changes in the last two days so what is it?
Is my investment in Apple products lost?

if you can i'm sure your account still exists but the iTunes store has a glitch or issue.

First question that I am not clear on your answer about: Is the Apple ID itself a valid email address, and the same one that you have as your Primary email address on your account? If the actual Apple ID is not an email address, then that is why you are not able to sign on to iCloud or to verify it....it must be an email address.
If it is an email address then:
Update your OS to the latest version - 10.8.5
Once you have updated, reboot the Mac and then go to Preferences>iCloud and try to sign on with your Apple ID again.
Check Manage your Apple ID to make sure that your Apple ID/Primary email address is verified.
If the problem persists, contact iCloud Support to see if they can provide you with an explanation of the meaning of the message. If the Apple ID has already been verified, then I'm not sure why you would be getting this messge:

I could do that, however when I select the icloud button (or whatever the heck it is) I am asked to enter the apple id and password. So if you are suppose to create another one for icloud you'd think it would give you the option at this point which would be logical.

Could the credit card be expired?
Beyond that, what you need to do is contact iTunes support, they can tell you exactly what is wrong, none of us here can do that.
In the lower right corner of this page is a 'contact us' link. Click on that and you'll see a page full of info and links, one of which is iTunes support.

I understand the instructions to create a new account id (apple id) from the old aol account. However, does this mean my purchases will be split into 2 accounts; or does the fact that I currently see everything under my apple id (regardless of the purchased by username) mean this will all still appear in my current account as it does now?

You see them where when you login your non-AOL account ?
If you currently have two accounts (the AOL username account and an email address account) then you will continue to have two accounts, and nothing should change when you update the AOL account to be an email address (apart from how you access that account).
You will just be renaming the account to have an email address for accessing it, not creating a new account.

To use iCloud, you must first set it up with your Apple ID on a device with iOS 5 or a Mac with OS X Lion.
On an iOS 5 device go to Settings>iCloud and sign in using your Apple ID.

Sorry: once a device has been authorised for a particular iTunes account you can't change it to another until 90 days have passed. This is to prevent people cirumventing the restrictions of purchases to one account from consteantly swopping between accounts. You will have to wait for the 82 remaining days, and there is no workaround.
