I can't open new tabs from links in a site, while it is possible from chrome.

In this site http://www.thepressproject.gr/ I can't open the links in new tabs, while for the same site using chrome I can. When I right click on the link, i don't have the usual options (open in new tab, open in new window, bookmark etc.). It is as if it doesn't "see" the links at all and the options are for the main page.
What is wrong?
(I am sorry for my english, I hope I make sense!)

That is a really strange issue. I've never heard of it before nor can I figure out how to fix it. What I'd recommend doing is disabling all your add-ons to see if that fixes the problem. If it does, one of your add-ons is causing the issue. If it doesn't, try starting Firefox is Safe Mode to see if the issue disappears. If the problem doesn't happen in Safe Mode, it's a problem with something that runs in Firefox when you start it normally (could be settings, plug-ins, add-ons, etc). If you can't figure out what is causing the problem in Safe Mode or you know the problem but can't solve it, the easiest thing to do is to reset Firefox or completely reinstall Firefox, described below:
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from mozilla.org (or choose the download for your operating system and language from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu and click the close button ).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*Windows:
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Installing Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

• I can't open new Tabs on the botton position?

Hello. After upgrading to Firefox v.7 from v.5 I can't open new tabs when on the bottom. Also in any webpage, in an area of about an inch below the "tabs" line does not work. Example: on the Firefox "Help" page I can not sign-in/register if I want to "contribute" & I can not use any of the buttons under the title "NEED HELP WITH FIREFOX?". When on the Yahoo home page none of the buttons above the Yahoo "search bar" and the "search bar" itself works.
I have been trying to get someone on Live chat since 9:00 with no avail.

The Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause this issue. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

• Safari ios7 issues on iPad Air - can't open new tabs - + sign closes app

Safari ios7 issues on iPad Air - can't open new tabs or view other tabs.
The + sign just closes the app every single time!
In some cases, the back and forward buttons don't work.
It's driving me crazy becuase if the webpage I'm on opens and ad or tab that I don't want to look at, I can't close it and go back, I have to retype the web address in and find where I was on the site!

I, too, tried all the fixes...nothing worked.
Found another thread on this forum and looks like a lot of us are having same problem.
Next time it happens, go to SETTINGS/GENERAL/ABOUT and check to see it there is a "low memory" incident report.
If there is:
See the discussion thread "iPad Air Low Memory Crashes".
Seems to be common....this could turn into a HUGH issue.

• Since the 3.6.23 update, I can't open new Tabs manually, but apps can. What happened?

If I click on the new-Tab "+" nothing happens. If I select New Tab from the File menu or type Ctrl-T, nothing happens. But apps opening new windows (in prefs, I ask they open new windows as Tabs), new Tabs appear as usual.
I've checked my Options, nothing seems to preclude manually opening new Tabs, so I'm at a loss.

This issue can be caused by the Ask<i></i>.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)
Your system details show that toolbar in the user agent as AskTbTRL2/3.12.2.16749

• Navigation bar opens new tabs for links on the same site - only newer versions of FireFox does this! Why?

I've used this custom navigation bar for nearly a decade. New versions of FireFox open new tabs when I navigate to different pages on my weather site. Very annoying!!! I've tried turning off tabs, but then it opens NEW WINDOWS! These links ARE NOT ENCODED TO OPEN IN NEW WINDOWS! What is causing this? Looks like I"m going to have to switch to Chrome or go back to IE, since nobody at Mozilla seems to care about this. They seem to think it is a good feature and not a bug. What gave you the right to decide to open new tabs at random times? If I click a link on a site that is on the same site I'm already on, and the link isn't coded for _blank, then it should open in the same window!

Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

• When trying to open a new tab, there is no response. Can't open new tab.

I go into "file" and click on "New tab." There is no response. I click on the "+". No response.

In "Safe Mode", "Open new tab" worked. However, in order to have it continue working, I had to return Mozilla to its original settings. For now, I'm satisfied it's working. Thanks.

• Stop safari from opening new tabs every link click?

Not sure when it started, all I know is that it's been very iritating ever since.
On the pad, phone, mac, and mac book, web browsing has become a pain in the a$$ because every (ok high 90%) on a link opens a new tab on the macs a new browsing window on the phones....in a minute or so the macs have 10 taps open and the phone is maxed out with 8 new windows all on the same thing.
how do i switch this off?  I just want the "old?" way where i got one window and the web session can move forward and back at my choosing in the same tab, and if i want to open a tab, i right click on the link and select "open in new tab"
Whatever happened to that?  Am I the only one who hates this new way of safari operating?
Thanks.

May have a fix per Bill;
"I am seeing the same problem in Snow Leopard and Safari 5.1.10 as are many other people with various versions of Safari on several forums.
I've done routine maintenance including emptying caches and clearing out cookies. I've changes tab/window preferences to update Safari's plist all without effect. The blank full-screen window in the background has no code. I've even looked for differences in the HTML and CSS from the originating pages gotten from Chrome and Safari. No differences.
The only thing I can remember changing was a Glims update which dated 11/25/13. Since Glims messes with Tabs it is possible.
This is a pain.

• Can't open new tab in DETACHED window.

I use software that allows me to detach a window for a certain feature. In the last version of Firefox (3.?), I could right click on a link in the detached window and it would open in that detached window. Now with Firefox 4, it opens it in the original window so I have to move it over to the detached window. Or I have to copy the current tab into a new tab, then open the feature I want. Either way it's a pain. Can I fix this?

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

• Wont open new tab with link is clicked

Since upgrading to from FF-6 to FF-7, when I click on a text link it doesn't open up in new tab, it just goes to the link within the same window. I've confirmed that I have the tab setting in FF7 set to open a new tab instead of a window, and Google settings set to open links in new tabs, but since the upgrade it all stopped working. No other software has been added or changed, just the new FF7 installed. Any thoughts, or is this a bug?

I uninstalled the Ask.com toolbar and the problem was resolved.

• I can not open new tabs witht the + button

When I click on the + button next to the last tab, a new tab will not open. Also, if I right-click on a tab and chose NEW TAB, a new tab will not open. I can open a new tab by right-clicking in a web page, or by right-clicking on a link in my favorites toolbar. This feature was working and just stopped. I have reboot, and even re-installed firefox.

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and the current version of Firefox.
