I can't open the app PACE because PowerPC application are no longer supported
I need solution
PowerPC apps are simply not supported in 10.7. You can update the app, replace it or downgrade back to 10.6.

I'm tring to install a d2 quadra external drive but can't use the setup assistant because "PowerPC Applications are no longer supported". Anyone have any ideas?
You shouldn't need to install anything just to use the drive. Just connect it to your Mac and it should mount. If it's the Intego Backup Assistant you're trying to install, try the latest version which you can download here:

I keep getting error message, "can't open application PACE because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." I've run Clean My Mac and I still get the error.
Use the Finder "Go" menu while holding down the option key to expose your User / Library folder.
Look in the Application Support folder for PACE items and delete them. -
Im getting a constant error message: "you can't open the application PACE because PowerPC applications are no longer supported". I cant find PACE to delete it?
PACE is a rather crappy copy protection software used by the following;
Antares
Melodyne
Cycling 74 Max/MSP/Jitter
iZotope oZone
Line6 POD Farm
McDSP plug-ins (some software purchases include a green iLok key)
MOTU
Overloud
Pro Tools
Serato
Virtually all Digidesign (RTAS and TDM) plug-ins
Virtually all Waves Products
So if you have any of there, they might be the cause of your problems.

I installed Lion 10.7.4. Went to use Photoshop Cs and got a popup window. You can't open the application Adobe Photoshop CS because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there a way of getting this to work or do I have to get newest version of all of my Power PC apps?
Welcome to Apple Communities
PowerPC applications are unsupported in newer versions. You can upgrade Photoshop or you can install Snow Leopard in a partition.
1. Open Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities) and select your drive
2. Go to Partitions tab, press + button, create a new partition and press Apply
3. Insert the Snow Leopard install DVD and reboot pressing C key
4. Install it in the new partition
5. If you want to change boot, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk and select 10.7 -
I face a problem with my macbook air or i think it's from the lion OS cause i didn't happen with snow leopard OS the massage says ( you can't open the application ....... because powerPC applications are no longer supported). any advice ??
Mac OS X Lion has dropped support for Rosetta, the feature that allowed you to run PowerPC apps on previous OS X systems. Check if you can find a newer version of the app you are trying to run that supports Intel processors.
What application are you trying to run? Maybe I can help you find a version that runs on Lion. -
New MacPro 10.9.4 purchased three weeks ago included Keynote. App worked fine. New update for Keynote was released August 21. Just downloaded the 6.2.2 update. Tried to launch app and now get error message "You can’t open the application “Keynote.app” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." Confused as to why it worked prior to update. Nothing else has changed. No issues with recent iMovie, Pages or Numbers updates. Any ideas?
I tested this:
Reinstalled Aperture 3.1 from the Trial Installer.
In some way it seems to be working. But the whole thing is a scary Chimera.
It can create an Aperture library. I can import and edit images, even in Graphic Converter ias an external editor.
But the Media Browser does not show the aperture Library that I created.
The versioning is inconsistent. The library appears as an Aperture 3.4 library in the Finder. Aperture 3.5 seems to be able to read this library and to upgrade it to 3.5
The Applications folder is showing the application as version 3.4 and as compatible. Spotlight is showing it as illegal.
When opening the chimera Aperture, I see plenty of warnings in the Console window:
An Aperture "Hang" report
xpcproxy assertion failed
com.apple.IconServiceAgent: main failed to composite image
quicklookd: Warning
and more ... the hang was critical. I had to force quit Aperture more than once.
So be careful. I would not trust any important Aperture library to this patched application, without testing thoroughly. Be careful with your precious photos. -
You can't open the application ASExecute because PowerPC Applications are no longer supported
I upgraded to Lion a few weeks back and everything has been working fine. Today while on internet I keep getting a message you can't open the application ASExecute because PowerPC Applications are no longer supported. It seems to happen when I am on EMusic site downloading music. I can find no reference to ASExecute on Google or on my iMac. However the music is still downloading. Should I just ignore it? Any suggestions appreciated...
maryfromgreenockI have the same problem. It ocurred for me when I was downloading emusic files through the "eMusic Download Manager" app. The files downloaded fine, but they never automatically imported to iTunes. So...I'm guessing "ASExecute" might be an app launched by eMusic manager when it finishes downloading?
Hey emusic: PowerPC code should be long gone by now!
Quicksilver: if you have no suggestions then perhaps a reply is unwarranted. -

When installing software for epson v700 photo a message says "You can't open the application mac os x because PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Is there a way of overcoming this obstacle?
Is there a way of overcoming this obstacle?
No. PowerPC apps will not run on Mac OS X Lion. There is no way to get around it. -
Just upgraded to Mac Lion... can't access Appleworks6...get this message... "You can't open the application AppleWorks 6 because PowerPC applications are no longer supported".... I've got dozens of documents saved that I can't access?!!!!!
Rosetta is not included Lion, if you are not familiar with Rosetta it was an application included in Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard that allowed PPC based apps to run on Intel based machines. That was over 5 years ago so it's time to move on. As has been suggested you can read those documents in Pages which is available on the App Store. Pages is part of the iWorks suite that replaced AppleWorks years ago. Currently iWorks is on iWorks 09 , and includes Pages, Numbers and Keynote. You can find each on the App store.

Tried to install a new game that I bought (Xiii) for my MBP. All system req have been met and exceeded, however when trying to install it I get an error message saying "You can’t open the application “XIII Install” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
I have since read online that the operating software Yosemite has got rid of PowerPC applications, meaning I can't install my new game.
Is there anything simple that I can do to get this game to work. I'll be gutted if not as I have opened the game therefore the shop will not give a full refund, I'm sure .
Regards
SimonA lot longer ago than that. PowerPC apps haven't been supported since Lion, 10.7.x.
You may have just purchased the game, but the developers obviously haven't kept up to date with the requirements for newer versions of the Mac OS.
You have three options, depending on how old your Mac is.
1) If it were ever able to boot directly to Snow Leopard, you could create a separate partition and install SL onto that partition. Make sure to turn on the option during the installation to install Rosetta. That is OS X's PPC emulator.
2) If your Mac is too new to install Snow Leopard, then you can purchase and install Snow Leopard Server within a VM, such as Parallels, VirtualBox, or Vmware.
3) Use a separate older Mac for running outdated software.
